Already back with his parents? Blimey, you did so well to survive a whole evening with them all as I'll bet he is driving them mad already!

Hope you and Alfie are doing well x

i think her mum told them he should live on his own until the baby is born... i'm not sure if its that, if shes fed up with him peeing on the toilet floor and leaving the seat up, he's playing the system to try and get me to sell the house or if this is genuine...?

not for me to guess at... i know his parents didnt particuarly want him back- but if it means i get to keep the house who cares?!?

the evening wasnt too bad.. to be honest we werent all that different with each other... i guess cos i've moved on and he doesnt see that he's done wrong... its easy to be friends... although i did dig at him a few times - but was otherwise very restrained...

spoke to his sister yesterday... she is visiting home this weekend with her hubby and feels betrayed that her mum has deliberately kept the fact he has moved back to theirs a secret... she only found out cos she mentioned to me she was coming down... (she stays with her parents when she visits and he is in her room)

they havent spoken, except for a couple of texts so this could be an interesting weekend...!

feels strange knowing they are having a family bbq on monday and i'm not going to be there... have to get used to that i suppose... its just the secrets that get me down... the in-laws know everything thats going on in my life and they are keeping things like his sister (who i am close with) visiting a secret...

anyway... been looking into getting a rescue doggie - want one that is fully absorbed in family life before i start childminding - and have found a lovely lurcher cross who is currently being fostered with 4 children aged 6,4,3 and 6months... so she'll be ideal!

waiting on the call from the rescue place about having a homecheck and visiting her at her foster home.. shes been there for 4 months so i more than ready for a place of her own!

and got one more week before i find out about the redundancy at work... fingers crossed!

Just a thought - if you get a dog before the house situation is sorted, you may have problems trying to find somewhere to live if things don't work out to plan and you end up having to rent for any length of time......

...also new babies and dogs sometimes don't go togther. You don't want to find out your dog is jealous of the new baby....

also, childminders aren't normally allowed to have dogs.

Maybe you could do some dogwalking for them instead?

Keeps you fit, makes you feel good, but a lot more flexible than taking on a dog full-time.

childminders are fine to have any pets... i know of people with GSDs etc... lots of parents like you to have one cos they cant have dogs of their own because of working...

    Hi

Iv read your posts. I think you are coping really well the situation. Sorry if I repeat other people as havnt read all replies.

I had my first baby not that long ago and I would think twice before getting a dog just yet, not because of biting etc but your going to need all your energy for the baby. The first few weeks its hard to get organsied to leave the house nevermind walk and care for a dog. You will want to focus completely on the baby and resent the dog for needing attention. My other suggestion is that Im not sure when your going to start childminding but I would suggest giving yourself at least 4 months with your own baby before having other children as its a massive lifestyle change, esp if your breastfeeding. Plus the night feeds really zap your energy and honestly you wont be up to looking after any kids until baby is sleeping through the night.
