    Evening all

I finished the second of my NVQ units today, I'll be glad when it's all done.
Not long now till the holidays & then I'm dog sitting for 3 weeks, I'm looking forward to it. Still not getting much os done apart from cooking, but we are working on the garden every evening for a couple of hours.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hello all. Haven't been on here for a week or so. Been at home for the last couple of days from work as had a nasty cold. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow as have lots of work to catch up on :( Have not done much housework this week, luckily OH has been helping out as he still does not have a job. Going to try to make 50 pounds last until payday on 31st March...any ideas how?! Tried the Moroccan Chicken last night from the Sainsbury's recipe which was quite nice, having Cheesy Tuna Pasta tonight hopefully that will be yummy.
  • Evening folks, and hugs/congratulations to all that want them!

I'm a long-time lurker on MSE and particuarly on the Daily, but I have decided it is time to come out of the closet - even if I can't post every day!

As a group, you lot are such an inspiration - I have made so many changes to the way I do things as a result of lurking on here!

OS wise, tonight has been especially good - for me ;). Since I got home, I have washed the pots, made Quorn bolognese (2 lots for the freezer and 1 for tomorrow night's tea), sewn a button back on one of my work jackets, mended an earring, heated up the HM leek and potato soup that I took out of the freezer this morning, and cooked the rice which is going to be part of tomorrow's packed lunch.

On the down side, I haven't touched my books for months - I am studying long distance for a professional qualification. Also I got a tin of mushy peas last night in my Slimmer of the Week basket - I love garden peas, but what can I do with mushy peas to make them edible? (Tried them once years ago and hated the texture.) Any advice gratefully received.

CSARINA - that's beautiful. Just sat here thinking of crafty things myself for mother's day.

Ended up going antique snuffling after all. Hubby was determined to take me. I didn't actually spend anything but mentally I bought just about everything in the place :rotfl:

The HM yoghurt is not going so well - I think my starter culture wasn't fresh enough so I decided to throw in some pudding rice and hopefully we should have a pudding we can eat tomorrow. Knowing hubby though he'll be raiding it before bed though!

Last task of the day cracking through some more ironing. Strangely enough, I've come over tired all of a sudden!

Welcome Mountain Ash...you will like it here I know.

Dinner to-night was shepherds pie...OH not happy as the meat bit came out of the freezer...he doesn't think that cooked food should be frozen for using at a later date....I don't usually tell him but he came into the kitchen and saw it defrosting, then he did the martyr bit saying that he would eat it because he would have to....didn't offer him the chicken at the back of the fridge with some mash and green beans instead....that's where the 'mean' in my name comes from! He had recovered by the time he went to bed! Since he had the stroke he can be as cranky as anything some days, maybe its an after effect or whatever, but it is difficult to know which way to jump some days....especially as my jumping days are well behind me!

Going to do a flit round and head for bed myself in a bit....sleep well all.

    Hi guys,

Many thanks for your thoughts, pm's and good wishes on Tuesday. They made the day a little more bearable. My friend took me up to the grave and we left some flowers and a couple of chimes and some solar lights and tidied it up bit. My SIL called with some flowers for me (bless her) and she was a little tearful when I showed her the draft of the stone I had chosen.

OS for the last few days has been keeping the house clean, up to date with the wahing and drying, only a little pile of ironing left to do, bathroom deep cleaned, home cooked food after school for the kids and I, sewing done, recycling up to date, pennies books up to date - the usual stuff really.

I am going to pop to lidl tomorrow for a few bits as I don't need a full shop and hopefully mow the back lawn and finally get to grips with the hedge cutter for the front. But, as all my plans - it may not go as expected.

Beth - Hun, what devastating news for you. Please don't feel guilty about enjoying last weekend, we have little or no control over the path that is laid out for us. The only important thing is to love and be loved in return, and make the most of the time we have together. We none of us know how long that time will be. Gentle hugs to you and yours hun. xxxxxx

Haribo and pink - :hello: and :kisses3: and thank you. xxxx

Mudgekin - sorry, a very late and belated happy birthday to you, I hope it was a good one. :D Also belated birthday wishes to those I know I have missed over the last few days. xxxx

Pen-pin - I hope you will feel a little better tomorrow. I miss your posts. Gentle hugs to you hun. xxxx

MSD- still thinking of you and Tristan, Halight - I love your positive attitude to life :T :T :T all of you are in my prayers. Very gentle hugs to all else in need. xxxx

    Mountain Ash, welcome. :j

I'm not really tired tonight (had a nap after the kids went to bed as I was shattered then  ) but am going to get my head down and hopefully sleep.

    Good night all,

    Smoky. xxxxxx
