Oh just to let you know also. I rang the local council for Polperro with regards to the non exsistent roof garden. They confirmed that this had been started illegally and he had been told to take it down in october 2008, which the council have confirmed this has been done. however he lied to us from the beginning because the night before in septebmer 2008 when we were due to go down to the cottage he rang and told me that builders had been running a little bit behind in finishing the roof garden and they may be finishing it off when we were there! this was all untrue, however it is his word against mine, but I have the emails in writing printed out to confirm that this was started without planning permission.

also an extra galleried bedroom had been in the description in the brochure and on arrival it was just a mattress on an obviously just completed piece of space in the second bedroom! the local council have been looking into this and i am waiting for them to get back to me. i have told them that i will be in court on may 6th so i need the info before then. would he need permission to add a galleried bedroom to the second bedroom???? would this be against health and safety regulations, does he need them??????
these are all questions that are constantly going through my head, so i want to get all my facts straight before next wednesday.

    what do you reckon guys???

    Hi guys,
Just to let you know the next episode. Have been to court again today and he turned up with his entourage. Was in court for 2 hours and won my claim. He was ordered to pay my holiday plus costs within 14 days. Will have to wait and see what happens next!

Just like to thank you for all your advice.

    Thanks again,

    Sue and family xx

Wonder if he will pay? I won a case and was awarded money but after paying for two lots of bailiffs gave up. It seems that everything in his house belonged to his partner!!!

    Thanks guys
You know, it was a really strange experience being in the court room. I can honestly say that both myself and my husband did not deserve to be there. It was something that i wouldnt like to experience again, but you never know.
Just to let you know also what went on in the court room.
After the judge had listened to both sides, and before he did his deliberations, Mr Mockridge decided (or should i say his wife) decided to show the judge copies of the correspondence from this website. Obviously somebody had told them about me being on here. She said that she had faxed through to the courts the day before all the messages that had been left by and for me. The judge said that he hadnt seen them. She then tried to give the judge the photocopies of this forum but the judge wouldnt have any of it, and said that basically it wouldnt make any difference. I said that this was an open forum and all my messages were between me and anybody else who wanted to make a comment. Both him and his wife tried to make out that I was aggressive and was quoting on some of the remarks that I had made previously with regards to him being an idiot! The judge wasnt having any of it.. and refused to even look at it. The judge did tell me off though for putting those remarks on the forum!! I did agree that at the time I was angry at being fobbed off all the time, but we all have those moments done we? The judge decided he was in breach of contract.
All in all, it was a very strange and not a very nice experience. However, if needs be I would do it all again, just to let people know about this type of problem and also to stick to my principles and not just "roll over" and forget about it.

Again, thank you for all your messages of support and guidance. I really, truly couldnt have done it without all your advice regarding councils, trading standards etc. Keep in touch.

    xx :)
