I am also thinking of making Marion's rice thing - has anyone made it? Do you eat the whole half cup of dried rice in one go?
Sounds like you have a good menu for today
I make Marion's rice 3 or 4 times a week. I have an ikea kid's plastic cup, fill it about 3/4 full with rice, put in pan and add two cups of water and simmer for 20 mins or until ready. I then have it with mandarin muller and two clementines/satsumas added.
Will see if I can find the post about marion's rice

Some of you might remember me from a while back, I remember some of your names. I joined SW in January 2008 and got to my target loss of 1st 10lbs last June. I stayed within my target range until January this year but had put on half a stone by the time I went again, eight weeks later!
After the end of the first week I lost 1lb and this week I have lost 2lbs and also got Slimmer of the Week, surprisingly. I have another 4lbs to lose to be back within my target range but ideally I would like to lose another half a stone and reset my target to be a round 2 stone in total. I'm just addicted to those little target stickers!
Anyway, I have managed to lose both weeks so far, but I haven't been very good, so this week I am going to:- Have planned treats every day (the syn values are already written on the Fudges and Curly Wurlys in my cupboard!)
- Drink loads of water
- Read this thread every day for ideas and motivation
nice to hear from you , i'm glad your back , and welcome all the new people on here :cheesy:

Hi all
I am an ex SW person and now that the weather is improving I am going to give it another go but without going to class. Going to do mostly green as I do not eat meat, but might do odd red day because I eat some fish (in moderation).
I have a question please: have the SW books changed much since 2007? I still have my old book, will I be able to follow that? Thank you. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I am hoping to use the principles of the Slimming World diet to lose a few pounds. As there are no meetings at a convenient time close to me and I cannot afford the online membership I wanted to 'go it alone' (and maybe join in here for some moral support).
However despite buying the magazine today and searching for ages online for a list of the free foods for each day and the superfree ones I have drawn a complete blank.
Could anyone point me towards a place where I might be able to find them?
Thanks in advance

Thanks SW_mina, it was me that asked
Im looking to join a group again, but i have just found out that the one i used to go to is now ran by, well lets say, someone who doesnt like me very much at all. So i do not want to join there now as I know she will make it awkward for me.
i have just looked into the bodyoptimise site, but TBH i prob wont follow it then as there isnt much onus to shame me into not loosing IYSWIM!
I was convinced that that there was a group on a sunday near me, but on the SW site it doesnt list it... Im so gutted now, had psyched myself up for joining again on monday but now dont know what to do
There are no official SW groups over the weekend, but if you go to the website and type your postcode into the relevant area, it will bring up the closest 10 groups including all the details and a contact number.
For those people wanting to do Extra Easy - don't forget that SW recommend you have a third of each plate filled with superfree foods (those listed on the yellow pages of your 'bible'). This will give you the maximum weight loss benefit. Stick with one of each HE and 5-15 syns a day, drink lots of water and you'll lose weight.
The_Cat - it would be worth you going to a group to get all the necessary books and hear how the plans work. It would be much easier for you and definitely cheaper than buying books from eBay.
Caterina - the books haven't changed much....if it worked for you using those books, the likelihood is it will work now.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Hi - yes you can do EE every day - to ensure a good loss though, you will want to include approx 1/3 of your plate as superfree foods (today you have included onion, shallots and eggs, probably not 1/3 of your total food :rotfl: )
As a list of ingredients, you are not doing anything wrong, I would simply have questions about whether you were eating plenty, and that you were finding your food interesting and satisfying
To follow SW 100%, you need to have between 5 and 15 syns a day - another bacardi  perhaps0 -

You can do EE every day or alternate with other plans. Do try to have different foods each day though.
Your menu plan lacks fruit and veg by the looks of it. It is recommended that you have superfree foods with every meal to help to fill you up and make sure you get all the necessary nutrients. Also you're not having the correct amount of syns - it should be 5-15 a day. Cutting back is counter-productive and may eventually lead to feelings of deprivation which can lead to you giving up altogether.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

You are unlikely to find anything online - the only place to get this information is from the books or the sw password protected website. You can pick up the books in your first meeting, or on ebay. They cost a fortune on ebay, so I would scoot to one meeting, pay up, listen to the talk, grab the books (and the online password!), and then go it alone! (with us of course!)0
