LOL ditto, including things i thought i would shrink into
  • Please excuse my mad posting frenzy, i'll make this my last for a while :o

    1. Cook a SW meal you have NEVER had before! Will do a new curry out of the curry book
    2. Do 15 mins EXTRA exercise in addition to what you normally do! will walk the horse today (usually ride but i have discovered walking uses different muscles therefore different type of exercise) and then ride the other for at least 15 mins
    3. Buy and eat a piece of fruit you have not had for ages! Oh but i'm so stuck in my ways with fruit! Will buy a token peach or similar but don't expect me to enjoy it ;)
    4. Add your own personal target for the week here can't as I don't know what I weigh atm and am going back to class NEXT week having missed this one :o so i'll make it a generiv " not have put on too much weight" ;)

Morning all! I see Flat Eric posted last night ..........phew at least one of the old faces is around ( didn't mean that old bit literally FE :D)
Angie thanks for your comments about celeriac, I might give it a go if i find it going cheap. Last night I had a chicken stirfry and that was yummy.
I thought I'd share my menu with you people to get some kind of feedback ('scuse the pun) I've been doing this for nearly a year now and I'm kind of thinking I might have it sussed and if thats the case then some newbies might find it useful and if I'm doing it all wrong maybe someone could enlighten me!
    Today (Red Day)
Weetabix with milk for brekkie(HEB and part HEA)
HM Butternut Squash soup, Finn Crisp crackers (HEB) topped with cottage cheese then fruit and activia ff yoghurt for lunch.
I'm making a cottage pie type thingy ( lean mince dry fried and thoroughly drained/squeezed) topped with mashed swede instead of tatties.
    Drinks: Coffee/Diet coke/ SF Squash.
    Snacks: Fruit/ SW Quiche
Syns: Pkt Quavers (5syns)and probably a couple (if I can restrain myself) of Sweeties from the tin at work (?syns)

    All comments gratefully received.

Looks good lo-bush, if you do find a cheap celariac (you'll be lucky:rolleyes:) it makes a lovely mash combined with swede or even butternut squash. I used to add a little milk to the water when cooking the celariac, it stops it going brown.

Just wanted to report. I rejoined a group last week and had my weigh-in - lost 3.5 pounds!!! Get in!!
  • I usually weigh in on a Wednesday night but DH never seems to be around to babysit so I went last night instead. The same lovely wonderful consultant runs the Monday class and the Wednesday class so may as well carry on with Mondays I think.
    The challenge:
    1. Cook a SW meal you have NEVER had before!
Never got round to the Baked Bean Lasagne but I did make that Baked Chocolate Cheesecake off the website!
    2. Do 15 mins EXTRA exercise in addition to what you normally do!
Never got round to getting the trampette out but I did do some digging in the garden on Sunday!
    3. Buy and eat a piece of fruit you have not had for ages!
I did actually eat an ugli fruit like I said I would!
    4. Add your own personal target for the week here.
I did actually lose 1 lb like I said I would!

I've just been looking through some previous posts. Can I ask what a star week is?

    hey op :hello:

Just a quicky as I have lots to read on this thread and Im at work

I lost 1.5 stone oooh gosh about 6yrs ago through SW and left my club. Lost and kept it off, lost a further 10lb thru exercise and my healthy eating that was taught to me by SW. All very good but I have slowly put it back on over the last 6 months or so due to moving location and being a lazy eater (convenience foods and probably the lager)

Now, for me, I know I can get rid and I have the will power to do it but it's been a long time since I have looked at SW and I know that the directory changes a lot over time. So, I'm just introducing myself to you all as there will more than likely be a couple of questions thrown your way :D
I got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down

A star week is the week women have their menstrual cycle. There is an inclination for our bodies to retain fluids at that time of the month which results in either a weight gain or a failure to lose. The consultant will know it is your star week so won't beat you up for a gain (not that she would anyway!)

Ahh - thanks! That makes sense, am always seriously affected by that. Wouldn't be worried about consultant beating me up - am very skilled at doing that myself!!
