I am sure most people feel like this, but how on earth do you manage the weekend Slimming World wise?

During the week when I am occupied I have no problem.

This weekend though I have lost the plot and eaten a whole bag of Werthers.

Last night I felt so angy and as if I would kill someone if I did not eat chocolate. I know you can save your syns for it but I am talking about a lot of chocolate! I just wish I would cut it out altogether because as soon as I get the taste I cannot stop.

I think it's because I was not prepared food wise for the weekend. Going to try harder next week. Disappointed with myself. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Hi all, this is my first post on this thread.

    I rejoined S/W last Wednesday, ( I lost 21lb in 2006 with S/W help).

I have been back 3 times since and gave up after a couple of weeks each time.

I really want to stick at it this time. I have a holiday booked in 3 weeks time, if I can shift at least 7 lbs before I go I feel it will help.

I am determined to go to class as soon as I get back, knowing full well after a 2 week all inclusive holiday that I will have probably done a lot of damage!!!

    Start weight - 11st-0lb

Welcome back to Slimming World and welcome to this thread :)

If you feel committed to losing your weight at the moment (as you seem to be) may I suggest that while you're on holiday you aim to keep thinking about making healthy choices.

I know that holidays are there to be enjoyed, but I feel that most of the pleasure should come from your travelling companion/s and the places you're staying.......the food should be secondary!

In order to be slim for ever, we have to embrace healthy eating as a matter of course. This includes high days and holidays, though I'm not suggesting that you follow the plan 100% on these occasions.

When faced with temptation, make a point of thinking "do I need this or do I just fancy it?" Alternatively, wait 20 minutes and then see if you still want it. If you do then go ahead - you made a choice to go off plan at that particular time........next time you may choose not to go ahead, which is great.

If you follow these suggestions, you may well be pleasantly surprised when you get back home and step on those scales :D

    Have a lovely holiday :)

lrmy - my worst problem with weekends is not being able to plan very well - I never know what we'll be doing for dinner - and OH always wants a cooked brekkie - so automically a red day! Plus as he's home the wine comes out ;) I just try to be as good as poss duing the week and give myself a little slack at weekends!

Well done on working out the answer to this problem by yourself.....believe it or not this will help you in future times of 'desperation'.

I am just like you and cannot have a square of chocolate, I have to eat a family sized bar. I have stopped buying chocolate for this reason. If you were an alcoholic you wouldn't buy booze so why make life hard for yourself when your 'addiction' is chocolate?

Try a Cadbury's Option (or even 2 in a big mug) when you need chocolate, it really does help to take the edge off. It's not the same as devouring a bar of Galaxy but it's only 2 syns a go and the following morning you wake up with a fantastic feeling of empowerment!

Weekends and evenings are the danger time for most people and the only way to overcome your feelings of deprivation is to save your syns for those times and plan yourself a special treat.

    Good luck :)

It's my first weigh in tonight. I have mainly stuck to the plan - a full bottle of wine on saturday let me down! I have been having less than 10 syns on the other days though so might be ok.

This week should be better as I have no plans to go out this weekend.

Fingers crossed I will lose a couple of pounds tonight.

Oh dear:mad: WI this morning & despite FEELING slimmer, I have put b ack on the 1 1/4 I lost last week :mad::mad:

I think it's a combination of not writing everything down, slipping off-plan a bit here & there & also taking lots of hot-lemon type medication - which I'm sure must be syn-able. I did ask the question but didn't get a reply - does anyone know how many syns are in those hot lemon type drinks please??? I did switch from eating a biccy or a chocolate afterwards to take away the taste - to a few grapes though:rotfl:

Luckily I am feeling much better & trying to cut down on them from today!

So far today menu looks like this:

    B: marions rice with ML

L: HM soup of some kind & half a wholemeal roll

D: Wholemeal spag with some kind of sauce (TBA!)

Snacks will be fruit & ML

Syns - depends how many I've got left after one of the aforementioned hot lemons:rotfl:

Right first things first - is there anything you don't like?

I would go for boiled rice (free) with a chicken (or veg 11.5) biryani (12.5 syns on green for 380g).

There is a section at the back of your syns page in your Food optimising book which is for eating out. Use your flexible syns - and enjoy your night. One night won't undo all your hard work!
