awww redbull sorry to hear that but 1/2's not too bad - it'll come off quick enough!
  • Hi, I'm new here. Well done everyone, this is invaluable and entertaining, I've enjoyed reading the threads. Everyone is doing so well. I have been on and off weight watchers for years, got totally fed up in the end - lack of motivation. Decided to give SW ago - so impressed with it and the support on line. First week has 4lb loss and this week feels good too. WI on Monday.

Just wanted to ask advise about syns - I seem to be having trouble eating them - i've had 11.5 out of a possible 45 in the last 3 days. Not starving myself or anything like that, just full to the brim with all the lovely free foods and HE's.

Do you get a better weight loss if you have more syns than less syns (if you know what I mean) - is there an amount I should aim for each day?

Also can you carry unused ones to the next day - if so - up to how many ie it probably wouldn't be wise to have 3 days of saved syns on day 4??

    :hello: Hi bigaroundthebeam!

You should aim for approx 10 syns per day - but you don't need to force yourself to use them. You'll find it easier to go without as you've just started, but when you get into it a bit you'll start to use them for variety - sauces, treats, alcohol, eating out, etc. Some people find they do better when cutting them down to 5 - some people do just as well have the full 15 - it's just different things work for different people.

You can carry them over (for as long as you like or coming up to a special occasion), but SW tend to promote 'flexible syns' rather than saving them up so that there's no depriving yourself then binging cycle. You have 10 syns per day every day and if you have a night out you just set yourself a higher limit for that night - say 60. Keep counting and stay within your limit - and get back to normal plus 10 syns the next day.

Doing lots of exercise can make you hold extra water at first, which of course shows on the scales. Don't worry about it, your shape will change anyway and the pounds will soon start to roll off.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Aw that's great thanks Skint_Catt, I'll try for that. Cheers
:coffee: going for a nice cupa and yummy choc/orange ML.

h see that could be why I only lost 0.5 in my second week - I'd been doing lots of Cross Trainer and had been upping the time! Must have been the water thing, though I'm drinking more now and lost 2.5 this week. Must stick with it - cross trainer getting easier and it feels good! Must up it to 40 mins a day now!
