Hi frankie - yes you must weigh the spaghetti (you get very little sadly - 35g dried weight) and it must be wholemeal. Dont' forget if you made the bolognaise before you started SW there may be hidden syns in it!
Hope you weighed your porridge too!

I think my problem is I dont decide what kind of day I am doing far enough in advance, (not planning), is making it difficult, but I guess that the story of my life.

Today, I had porridge made with water and a banana
the usual salad with sliced ham,
    the fruit
and for supper well I think its going to be spag bol, which I have in the freezer, so I must weigh the pasta?

Planning really is absolutely vital to life-long, effortless slimness. Without it you will always be caught out with nothing suitable to eat when you're just starving. Keep a cupboard (and a drawer in the fridge) stocked with basic free foods so that you can whip something up quickly at any time.

Do you go to group? If you do, please go and ask the Consultant to talk you through it once more, while you follow along using your FO book. It can be tricky at the beginning, but she really should have outlined the basics properly so that you know plainly which are free foods etc.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

You could turn your red day into a green one using the ham at lunch-time as a HEB. That way you could have unlimited pasta with unlimited bolognese, using Quorn instead of beef mince.

Alternatively of course, you could make this an Extra Easy day and eat the spag bol with unlimited pasta AND unlimited beef bolognese :D

Read your books regarding how to make a choice as to which day you do. If you like lots of meat with each meal, stick with red/original days. If you like your carbs (pasta, rice, potato) stick with green. If you like both have EE days (but be aware that you can only have one HEA and one HEB with EE).

Make sure you weigh/measure everything which is not listed as free food, eat lots of the foods with the symbol S or SS at the side (these help to speed your weight loss) and keep posting and asking when you're not sure :D

It would be easier for you to make the choice of which day to have if you started on a neutral breakfast like eggs. A delicious free, neutral breakfast could be scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes and grilled mushrooms. I think that might fil you up more than porridge. You could have a banana mid-morning and something more substantial at lunch-time, especially as the weather is getting colder and salad doesn't seem so attractive.

Hope this helps a bit. Look at the magazine for ideas and if you go to group, ask if the Consultant can get you the Delicious Days book. It's only £2.95 (ish) and one of the best books for helping you with day-long menus using fairly basic, ordinary foods.

Hi all. Not posted for over a week - don't know where it's gone!
Last week I put on 1½lb! I had been out on the Sat night, buffet food 4 times!!! in the week so didn't expect anything else really, quite pleased it was only 1½!
I am pleased to say that after a very good week this week I lost 2½lbs. This brings my total since joining 3rd Sept - 9½lbs!! I am soo chuffed. I used to do WW and thought it was fairly easy. I was ok but then I just lost it and it wasn't happening. Since joining SW I have not been hungry at all! I do need to experiment a bit more with food and not eat the same thing all the time. I do these out of ease and I don't mind having the same dinner 2 or 3 times a week.
Anyway, enough rambling. Well done to all those who have lost or sts this week, there are lots of us. Those who haven't good luck for next week.
I'm off home after work to sort out recipes for my slow cooker and do more with quark. I made a lasagna on Wed using quark and fromage frais for the sauce. I may need to put more on the top next time as it seemed to disappear!!!!!
Have a good weekend everyone. Taffy x

I don't know why but I am starting to get a little confused about EE - and I have been doing it for ages! Maybe I am overthinking it!
Is it ok to have a neutral breakfast, a green lunch and then an EE dinner? Or do I HAVE to have meat with my pasta at lunch time to make it an EE day?

    Thanks
    Marion

hi Marion, i get confused over EE still. I think its because I did red/green for so long then changed. You dont have to have meat/carbs at every meal. I also usually have a neutral or red brekkie (eggs and bacon) then a green lunch (baked pot and beans) then a mixed dinner (lamb rogan josh with rice). I must admit I forget to have 1/3rd super free, so I try and compernsate with loads of fruit during the day.
