i have tried for years to get a walking partner as i enjoy walking
(cant do a lot for fibromyalgia & arthritis)
& no one wants to go walking or swimming for that matter
    i find this hard
i am frightened on the bike paths, a lot of trees, bushes, dodgy
so i power walk round stupid concrete streets, houses, shops
its monotonous but i have to do it

Oh I wish you lived near me Redbull. I'd love a walking partner as I'm scared to go far on my own (we live in a very quiet, country area). Sadly I'm in West Yorks, so rather far to be of any use to you, lol.

I have just found this thread and thought I would join and share my story.

I decided to go back to Slimming World on 30 July this year. DD was rapidly approaching her 18th birthday, and I had reached the same weight I was when she was born 10st. As I am only 4'10", carrying an extra 25% in body weight is no good.

In 9 weeks, I have lost 7 1/2 lbs, which I am happy with - (that does include going to New York for 1 week, putting on 4 lbs and having to lose them again). However, I am bored with what I am eating. I tend to have chopped fruit, Alpen and 0% Total yoghurt for breakfast with a cup of tea or occassionally scrambled eggs with cherry toms, all using frylight. Lunch is normally an M&S tomato santini salad with either tuna or chicken. I try to eat a couple of apples during the day as well. When I get home, if I am hungry, then I will have a couple of Ryvita with mini babybel.

Supper is where it gets harder and more so in the winter. In the summer, DH normally bbq's most nights, fish, chicken, sausages, burgers, etc, and we always have salads.

With both the kids now at uni, I am only preparing a meal for 2. We have grilled fish, salmon, sea bream or sea bass, a couple of nights with vegetables and I normally give my husband a jacket potato or boiled pots. Friday night is always roast chicken with all the trimmings - I have not eaten one of my roast potatoes in years! I can either do chicken breats in the George Foreman or under the grill. I have just found the recipe for syn free roasted tomato sauce, so am going to try that with the last of the tomatos from the garden.

Basically, I am getting bored with what I am eating, and could do with some inspiration. The other minor problem is that I keep kosher and therefore cannot mix meat and milk.

:mad::mad: Just spent ages on a loooong post and lost it!

The amount of Alpen you get for your HEB wouldn't fill my hollow tooth :rotfl: why not try Marions breakfast rice (Retired Lady posted a couple of hours ago). It will keep you fuller for longer and it's free on a green day.

I haven't seen the Santini salad but a quick Google reveals that it contains 50% fat so I imagine it will have a hefty syn value. Could you not make something similar using fresh ingredients at home. This would be syn-saving as well as money-saving.

I see no reason why you couldn't have a jacket (or boiled) potato with your fish at dinner and why don't you do your roast potatoes as SW chips are made? Par-boil suitable sized chunks for 5 or 10 mins. Dry off, spray with Frylight and cook in a hot oven for 20 - 30 minutes.

If you have a slow-cooker there really is no limit to the meals you can make - all SW friendly (especially if you plan to follow Extra Easy). Just throw everything in the crockpot in the mornings and sit down to a lovely, comforting meal at tea-time (the smell is lovely too).

If you buy the magazine, there are always loads of recipes, and even as a non-member, there are areas of the website you can access to pick up ideas for recipes.

Check out the link I posted further back on this page of the thread to see more recipes.

Boredom is a killer, so do try to be adventurous and eat as many different colours as you can every day to ensure you get all the health benefits possible from your food.

    Hello all,

Am getting ready to go SW tonight, I love SW but am finding it hard to get back on track at the moment, no particular reason, just can't get my head around it. I lost 3 stone in 10 months last year and was absolutely elated as you can imagine. Unfortunately since then I have 'messed about', going up and down and am now 7lbs over target.

Any tips to get me back into it. I would love to be back at target by Christmas. I love the sound of the rice pud recipe and am going to try it. I would also like to give extra easy a try but can't understand how it can work - I think it's cos I started on red and green days and that's implanted in my brain!!!

    Good luck to everyone.

Right well I'm having a 100% green day today :D
Fried egg & baked beans for brekkie, savoury rice for lunch, lots of water to drink and chicken (HEb) with new pots, carrots & broccoli for dinner

I'm saving my syns this week for when darling fiance gets home on Friday (he now works away Mon - Fri and I miss him dreadfully) so I can have some wine & fajita's.
I bought a Discovery Fajita kit - so have I worked this out right?
On a red day - chicken, peppers & onion will be free, sachet of spices is 4 syns (so I'll have 2 of those), each wrap is 8.5 syns ( I'll have 3 of the 6 probably so 25.5), salsa is 0.5syn per tbsp so say 2syns - is that everything covered?
29.5 syns plus a couple of glasses of wine - 47.5  Good thing I'm saving them up!!!!
Better get on the melon tomorrow!
    C xx
