Hi marion :santa2:, was your ears burning yesterday , i was telling everyone about your rice pudding and it went down a treat , great comfort food :T:Tand now its getting cold its just what the doctor ordered , iv'e made some for work tonight as i have my break about 12.30 .
So come on marion bury them demon or set them on firer , you can do it xmas around the corner , lets all do it together hun:j:j:j.
I think we should all start putting some more recipey on , real comfort ones , now thw wealther changed , soups , shepard pie , casseroles , or stews , your :A:A:A:A.
Our consultant on here has just posted the link for slow cooker recipey , mines coming out of the box today & straight to aldi for veg , 29p upwards .
Thanks Peachy - this curry recipe is a favorite of ours - I got it from my consultant and we all love it! The whole thing only has 1 syn :beer:Butternut Squash Curry
Ingredients:-
1 large butternut squash or 2 small ones
4 Sticks of celery
2 red onions
½ tsp chilli powder (depending on taste)
2 tsp Chicken Bovril (from the jar)
2 chicken oxo cubes
500ml boiling water
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp tikka masala paste (pataks) 1 syn per tablespoon
4 chicken breasts cut up into chunks
½ tsp sweetner
Method:-
Cut the top off of the butternut squash, leaving the skin on the squash cut into chunks remove the seeds in the middle (discard) and place in a large saucepan. Cut the celery and onions up and put into the saucepan.
Make up the chicken Bovril with the boiling water, add the chilli powder and then add to the saucepan with the other ingredients. Boil for approx 20 minutes until squash is soft. Remove from the heat and mix with a hand blender until smooth, (yes with the skins on still!) add the tomatoes, sweetner and chicken to the smooth sauce and cook for a further 20 mins until chicken is cooked.
Eat and enjoy
Love Marion

Hi again folks, had my weigh-in last night... Didn't feel like I'd lost anything (although I had been very good) but turns out I lost 3lbs this week - this made me joint slimmer of the week, YAY! :j
That's 4.5lbs in the last two weeks, so I'm very pleased. Only trouble is, with all this rain and darker evenings I'm not really getting much exercise. Has anyone here got a Wii fit? If so, can you recommend it? I've got the Wii console (don't use it much though) so I was thinking I might hang on and save up to get the new version out at the end of the month... I like the idea of the yoga poses for when I'm not feeling too energetic! :rotfl:0 -
:T wel done diamond girl, 3lbs is a fabby loss:T
i do a wee bit power walking which helps but soon with the weather darker eve's i wont be able to:rolleyes:
we have a wii fit
its good but ONLY if your disciplined enough to switch it on each day, programe it & really do the exercises in front of a tv
i dislike that, i am no way disciplined enough to do this
i prefer outside & company at a class,
dont buy it if your like me & give up things in the house after a few wks
i was soooooo enthusiastic when they came out
i HAD to have one
eventually i got it, tried it once & the appeal was gone

btw
i have tried for years to get a walking partner as i enjoy walking
(cant do a lot for fibromyalgia & arthritis)
& no one wants to go walking or swimming for that matter
i find this hard
i am frightened on the bike paths, a lot of trees, bushes, dodgy
so i power walk round stupid concrete streets, houses, shops
its monotonous but i have to do it0 -

I like a warm/hot cereal in the morning and since I have switched to the EE plan on SW I only have 1 HEB to use during the day. If I have cereal in the morning thats it gone:mad:
So I came up with this - I vary it from day to day, for instance today I had blueberry and tomorrow probably rhubarb:j
Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt, rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW so can be made any time you fancy it really!

Thanks for your reply redbull08, very honest! I must admit I'm very faddy when it comes to new gadgets and stuff, that's why I thought I'd make myself wait until the new wii fit board & game come out... gives me time to save up for it too. I don't think I'd mind doing exercise in front of the telly, though I have felt a bit of an idiot doing workout DVDs when we didn't have curtains in our front room  Gave our neighbours a laugh, I'm sure!
I have to walk alone also (well, with my Westie for company), as my husband has bad knees and is waiting to have another operation at the moment. I find it the most enjoyable kind of exercise really. Shame the evenings are drawing in a bit too quickly for my liking. It's not silly at all to stick to walking round the areas you are comfortable in, I myself can be a bit scared of wooded pathways etc, I'm not fit enough (yet) to run away if I needed to!0 -
I'm delighted to say I lost 6lbs after WI trip.0
