Hello SW guys and girls,
I wonder if you could help me.
About 6/7years ago when I was doing SW, there were 2 recipes that I loved. They were both quiche type things, that you could eat hot or cold
1, a corn beef mix, might have had egg on top
2, a egg mix with spinach instead of pastry
Does any of this sound familiar, and if it does do you have the recipe cause I would love to make them again.
Thank you for your help
Susanna
Hope these help:-
Corned Beef Quiche (4 syns on Red Plan)
200g tin extra lean corned beef (4 syns),
Onion,
Red pepper,
Salt & pepper,
3 eggs,
Very low fat natural cottage cheese,
Sliced tomatoes for top (optional)
Chop or mash down the corned beef. Cook the onion and pepper in Frylight until softened.
Layer the meat, cottage cheese and onion/pepper mix into a quiche dish.
Whisk the eggs and pour over the top. Cook in the centre of a medium oven until set and golden on top (about 40 mins).
Bacon and Sausage Quiche(Syn Free on Red)
4-5oz Lean Bacon
4 syn-free sausages
3 eggs
8oz very low fat cottage cheese
Seasoning to taste
Slightly grill the bacon and chop it up.
Grill the sausages and slice in small rounds.
Beat the eggs and add the cottage cheese, then add the bacon and sausage.
Mix everything together and pour into a Flan dish.
Cook in a preheated oven at 200oC, 4000F or Gas Mark 6 for 15 minutes.
Quiches (Green Plan)Syn free pasta quiche:
Make up a packet of Batchelors Pasta n Sauce as directed on the packet but using only water, whisk in 3 eggs, pour into a flan dish and cook in a fairly hot oven until set (about 30-40 minutes).
Easy and really nice, especially when hot.

Make up a packet of Batchelors Savoury Rice as directed, whisk in 3 eggs and a large tub of very low fat cottage cheese. Season to taste. Pour into a flan dish and cook in the oven for about 30-40 minutes till firm to the touch.
Syn free onion & leek quiche:
Chop 1 large onion and 2 leeks and saut! in Frylight till soft and golden. Put them into a flan dish. Whisk 3 large eggs with a large tub of very low fat cottage cheese, Season to taste, pour over the onion & leeks and put in the oven till set (again about 30-40 minutes on gas 6).
Syn free potato & onion quiche:
Slice cooked new potatoes and red onion in the bottom of a dish. Mix quark or cottage cheese and 3 eggs together and pour over the potato & onion. Season with black pepper and cook for about 30 minutes or until set.
Basic Quiche: Mix together 4 eggs and a tub of low fat cottage cheese-Add to whatever you like ie cooked pasta and sauce, cooked 98% fat free noodles or even Heinz mean beans then bake in the oven until firm in the middle.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Tried to stay neutral-ish today after the syns of the weekend;
Breakfast - banana (was rushing out)
Lunch - soup (HEb)
Dinner - mushrooms stir-fry with quorn pieces
have loads of fruit in, some low-syn yoghurt (leftover from non SW days) and sugar free jelly if I need anything later - WI tomorrow night though!0 -

right guys and gals, here is the carrot cake recipe that I made for ruby party tonight. its 20 syns for the whole cake, it serves 8 and is 2.5 syns a piece. This is the recipe in the Best Ever recipe book.
3.5 oz plain flour
1tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 eggs, lightly beaten
150ml / 5floz skimmed milk (i didnt put this in last night and it was better than the previous one I made in my opinion)
2tsp cinnamon
2tsp all spice
2tsp ground ginger
3 carrots, peeled and grated
6 - 8 tbsp sweetener
zest of one orange
for the topping
1 tub quark (roughly 200g) but i normally do a full tub (full tub equals more topping!!!)
vanilla extract and sweetener to taste
combine all the ingredients and cook at 180c for 40 - 45 mins until a needle comes out clean
once completely cooled, make the topping and smother the top of the cake!!
I find the cake is quite "wet" when you cooled it, it seems a bit squidgy, but once you have put the topping on, put it in the fridge uncovered for about an hour, it makes it lovely and chilled and seems to harden it up a bit. It went down a treat tonight, not one piece left to bring home
On the downside, i gained tonight, but had a hen do over the weekend so not too worried. back to the grindstone in the morning!!
oh, and ps, the potato cakes were ok, i didnt take them to the party but had them when I got backYou're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -

Hi everyone , I got weighed yesturday and lost 1lb
I am happy with that because we went away for the weekend and I had a bad day saturday.
My tip would be measure yourself once a week
I have lost 1.5 inches off my hips in 2 weeks :j .
I want to make a roast dinner for my family but am confused,
can I roast it with out oil , then when cooked take off the skin ?
or should the skin be taken off before cooking ?Kindness costs nothing0 -
Got my weigh-in tonight... fingers crossed! I feel like I've been especially good (well it's only my first week mind, could go downhill yet!).
I definately need to read through this WHOLE thread for recipe ideas, I've eaten tonnes of courgettes, red onions and mushrooms for some reason this week. I'm concerned that my consultant won't be very happy about my food diary - only 2 to 3 syns per day, except when I had an avocado (14!). Must try to work out the syn values of treats I might enjoy and fit them in too - I've heard the Hi-Fi bars are scrummy???0
