Hmmm just had lovely grilled trout for dinner with carrots, green beans and a HEb of jacket pot  Did a tough 20mins on the cross trainer earlier - but it is getting easier so 30 mins next week
Fingers crossed for a healthy weekend as going to FIL's & my nieces confirmation (never SW friendly) :( (am taking personal food parcel though ;)
  • Hi there I'm Ebony, nice to meet you!

I am nearly at the end of my second week of slimming world and really pleased so far.

I'm glad I found this thread. I once followed weight watchers and liked the support of the forum on there and hoped for a similar one for SW!

So far, I love the plan. I feel so much healthier. I am full all the time and not anxious about running out of points and being hungry. I really think that the knowledge that I can eat as much as I want of some things actually restrains me!

Week 1 weigh in I lost 2.5 pounds:T. I hoped for more as I heard first week losses are usually huge, but weight does tend to take a while to come off with me! a pound or more this week and I'll be over the moon.

Anyway, my queries so far.... wonder if anyone can hep me with these....

    1. Does anyone else find eating out a bit of a pain? Not much info on website (in particular, Nando's Mediterranean Salad- no chicken- syns?)

    2. I'm veggie so can only do green days. Effect on weight loss, if any?

    3. Can I 'pool' my syns (i.e. have low syn weekdays, then a bottle of wine over the weekend?) or will this slow loss down?

    Thanks for reading my rambling;)!

  • doing well this week - stuck to plan, written everything down, gone for a walk every day, maybe not drunk as much water as I could have... so why am I feeling so bloated today? (its not near TOTM)

WI on monday night - really hope all my hard work pays off this week or I'll be gutted

PS the turkey burgers on SW website are delish! they're going to become a regular feature on our menu cos ALL the kids enjoyed them.
    Mum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)
loving SW - 5st off and counting! :j
  • It's my weigh in today and I lost a pound, well pleased, but with my recent weight loss speed I must admit I was a bit dissappointed! Lol! I have been expecting it to slow down for a while though, so looks like it has. I'm planning on trying to do a bit more exercise next week to try and give me a bit of a boost.

This week I have been feeling really flabby and bloated, though not eating any differently than usual, and not star week (for another 2.5 weeks) and also not eating very much wheat so I can't understand it?? Maybe just as I have lost the weight quite quickly my skin feels loose so this is making me feel a bit squidgey I think. Gonna do a bit more yoga and swimming next week for toning, and get back on my bike too!

Hi, nice to meet you too, :D

So far, I love the plan. I feel so much healthier. I am full all the time and not anxious about running out of points and being hungry. I really think that the knowledge that I can eat as much as I want of some things actually restrains me! This is often the case.......brilliant isn't it?

Week 1 weigh in I lost 2.5 pounds:T. I hoped for more as I heard first week losses are usually huge, but weight does tend to take a while to come off with me! Well done, this is a good rate of loss.

Anyway, my queries so far.... wonder if anyone can hep me with these....

    1. Does anyone else find eating out a bit of a pain? Not much info on website (in particular, Nando's Mediterranean Salad- no chicken- syns?) It's difficult to estimate syns when a restaurant make their own sauces and dressings. It's often better to ask for foods with dressings on the side so that you can decide how much, or indeed whether, to add them at all.

    2. I'm veggie so can only do green days. Effect on weight loss, if any? I rarely eat meat and lost over 4 stones in just a few months so it can be done. Make sure you drink plenty of water especially on the green plan - all those carbs can bloat you up.

    3. Can I 'pool' my syns (i.e. have low syn weekdays, then a bottle of wine over the weekend?) or will this slow loss down? It's not really recommended but you can do it, though perhaps not every week. One bottle of wine over the weekend isn't excessive anyway (only about 30 syns) so I wouldn't worry too much.

    Thanks for reading my rambling;)!

  • Well I think i maybe the worst dieter in the world.

After going on holiday and enjoying myself and have several good days last week and losing 3lbs and having a plan for yesterday it all kind of pear shaped and quite pete tong. In a good way though, its been quite a long year for us and without going into everything (it would be quite a long post) after being made redundant my OH was given a job yesterday and he starts nxt week. Brilliant news :T:j:j:j:j:beer::beer: So we went out to celebrate and i'm afraid I had cidar and curry and wine and well i think I may have over syned lol. No I think about it really, i was very naughty.

Oh well theres always today and tomorrow and the next day, am going to try and have few syns today and one day next week to compensate I may even get the book out and work out exactly how many syns i used and how many syns i have to hold back???????? could be a bad idea I'll see..........

Plan for today - Egg on 2 mini toasts (HE) ham (HE) salad for lunch apples and veg to snack plus maybe a yoghurt if i'm hungry and jacket spud for tea today.

Oh i have also declared no more drink till i go to brugges:o :A
    1vs 100 £50
    5500/335.25 (5.5K COMING DOWN)
    20.00/10,000(10K GOING UP)
    Not long now
    :)
  • sohereweare- well done to your DH! That is great news.

I find it helpful to know how many syns I have had when I do splurge, so even if it takes a week or so you can compensate by under synning. This helps me feel more in control, and less guilty about it. I have decided guilt is a waste of my time now, I don't give it head space. If I start with the guilts I say to myself, if you feel that bad go and do your exercise vid, or go swimming, and if you can't be bothered to do any of that then stop feeling guilty about it as it is within your control!! that way I feel I am doing something about it. Not saying this would work for everyone but really helps me.

I had a splurge last night as I was invited to a friends for dinner, I didn't go too over the top but we had chilli (which I took so was syn free), rice which was prob some points as had oil and spices in, but then I had 2 white wraps (I can feel it today as I never eat white bread and now my tummy is very bloated) and a handful of jelly beans. (I don't know why I ate them as I don't even really like sweets, I would always choose choc over sweets) but they were gelatine free and because I could eat them I did! Oh well gonna try and have a free (or low syn day today and that should cover it!)

Ive not been very good over the last 2 weeks and feel very heavy, i need to get focussed. Im not sure if ive been doing SW too long and need to try something else. I know SW works but ive got too lazy, i get very bored at tea time, especially with my oh working away at the moment.
Ive tried just eating healthy and sticking to the outlines of SW and I dont think ive put on as much weight as I would of if id ignored everything ive learned. Does anyone have any tips on how to get into it properly again? I started last March (08) lost almost 3 st but have put 2 st back on, im struggling at almost 12st for months now.
I find it difficult to do any excercise apart from walking to and from nursery. I hate doing excercise dvds in the house (maybe ill buy a new one and try it), i dont have a cross trainer or anything, id probably spend 10 mins on that if i had one (may try Freegle)
Ive basicaly got into a lazy rut, I feel fat and ugly. Iv e spent loads of time over the last month at hen weekends and 2 weddings, with loads of beautiful skinny people, I really want to get back down to a 12 again and feel toned. But the more I think im going to give it ago, the more I sabotage it all.

If youve felt like this, what made you get focussed again?
