Hi, I'm back after nine months off!! I need to lose just over a stone now and I am finding it really difficult to shift the last one. Started back on Wednesday, but couldn't stay to the meeting as I was really not well!! I am now gutted as I have no idea what the extra easy option is and wouldnt want to try it til I spoke to the consultant!! Does sound good though. Has anyone else done it? Just made a quorn shepherds pie for tea with baked beans in it. Anyone else got some nice ideas for a green day? Nice to be back peeps! xxx0

fernliebee wrote: »Aw! Thanks! I only do green days and I mainly try and stay free and H extras in the daytime and save my points for the evening if I feel like something naughty, or if not then I save them up for the weekend and then have a chow mein from the chinese, or some other treat. To that end I have fruit for brekky, and drink 2 pints of water, I wait until I actually feel hungry though as I'm trying to re-learn my hunger/ thirst reflexes as this is what has got me into trouble so far. I then have either leftover meal from night before, beans on toast, baked spud and beans, big salad, or sandwich using HEB bread for lunch with another pint or two of water, then for my main meal I have a very big dinner and I often make it free or as free as poss, and I make extra so if I feel like a snack in the eve I can have a bit more in a bowl!
Main meals that I eat that I make free on green days are:
Stuffed peppers with brown rice. (I make a bolognaise sauce, cut peppers in half stuff them and bung them in the oven covered in foil for about 30 mins and make some rice. It's my fave! Yummy! If you eat cheese then you could add your HEA or HEB allowance on top)
Shepherds pie. I make it with frylight for the onions then finish off the sauce and don't put any butter in the mash so it is free.
Curry and rice. I use frylight to get the onions going and then just add veg and curry powder and spices etc. I also sometimes use some points to add coconut milk- cos it's sooooo yummy!
Pasta with bolognaise sauce,
Chilli and rice.
Baked potatoes with a red sauce with lots of veg,
Lot's of veg with a Linda McCartney sausage (I would have quorn but I'm vegan and quorn has egg in it)
As I said above I think it is easier for me as I don't have any dairy, and also I don't drink so that is two less things for me to use my syns up with. Also I've said before on here, I prefer to give stuff up completely rather than have a little bit, so it does make it easier that there are lot's of things I can't eat as I get into the habit of saying 'no thanks' when ppl offer me things!
Anyway I've rattled on long enough! Lol!0 -
A tip for today and i posted this last year , so sorry to be repeating myself .
WHEN BUYING YOUR SHOPPING MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU NEED , AND BY THE LIST PUT THE SYN VALUE BY EACH ITEM , SO WHEN YOU GET BACK STICK A STICKER ON IT SAYING THE SYN VALUE , IT TAKES THE HARD WORK OUT OF IT WHEN DOING YOUR FOOD DAIRY.

oh beef curry your have to let us know how it turns out and post recipe
I havent got a proper recipie, I just made it up as I go along, but here is sort of how I made it, I used the spices etc to what I thought it should be.
for the beef we cut up some steak, we got them from the butchers and they were the size of a small island so had steak and sweet potato chips the night before.
Sorry I'll stop waffling!
OH seasoned the beef the night before with garlic, chilli, shallots and some all purpose seasoning.
I bunged it in the wok (usied frylight) with some more onions, ginger, sliced carrots and potatoes diced small (i leave the skins on cos I'm lazy!)
Added 2 tins of chopped tomatoes
Some curry powder (any curry powder, you can get mild ones or hotter ones, we has a mild madras one in the cupboard)
Poured over some boiling water so it covered everything, brang to the boil, turned the heat down and simmered until the sauce turned thick.
Served it with some rice and a large salad yummers!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

I used to use the online diary but found I never put things on it so am filling out the paper ones.
I'm also comiling a list of 'favourites' for my recipie folder and putting the syn values next to them.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
