My consultant pointed out that the Mullerlites are syn free not free food so you should still watch how many you eat. I used to have two a day but have cut back to one a day.

Thanks for this advise. I have previously read on here that some eat unlimited mullerlites so thought that was allowed. Now I know where I might be going wrong  (i.e. too many mullerlights  )

Hey Liz3yy - sorry to hear that happened to you. I'm totally NOT the world's expert, but when I started losing weight I went for a walk as many times a week as I could. That is a great way to exercise (and its free - although not if you walk to the local Asda like I did, and always buy a magazine :rotfl:)

I actually love walking now, and will often choose to do it if I have a spare half hour/hour.

Even if you only have 15 minutes spare (lunch hour/when the children are at school - obviously I don't know your circumstances!) it can make a huge difference after a month or so.

    Hi peeps - HELP!

I thought I'd got myself all ready and sorted for a launch into my slimming world life, starting tomorrow. My question is though - does it matter that I misread one of the healthy options - I thought it said Honey nut cornflakes, but I've just looked at the list and it says bran flakes - does it matter? I found them on the syn list, and i'm happy enough to syn them for now, but as with everything else, if i can have them for free....

    grrr.

Im afraid you'd still have to syn them as they dont have enough fibre to be a heb. If its the taste you like then you can have 28g weetabix honey and nut or Tesco Honey nut bran flakes. I understand you'll want to use them up, so I would keep syning them and still have your 1-2 heb or give them to someone else to enjoy. Im not sure how many syns 28g of them are im guessing 6? Dont know about you but rather pass and spend the 6 syns on choccy or a glass of wine or whatever your treat would be :D

Thanks, I was feeling rather gutted yesterday as I was looking forward to joining the gym with my partner. He was allowed to sign up but I wasn't and I had to follow him and the instructor around whilst they tried out the equipment. It was very frustrating as it all looked so much fun.

I do enjoy walking so will try that for the time being, we have some lovely trails around here that make for a good leisurely stroll.

I'm back on plan today having managed to maintain my weight last week despite falling off the wagon at the weekend.

I've just had 28g of bite size shredded wheat and a mullerlight for brekkie and now quite fancy some scrambled eggs and mushrooms.

I WILL get my BP down and WILL get my weight down too, I'm determined!!!!!

Hiya! Just a quick question, trying to find out how many syns Agave nectar would be. I always use this rather than sugar to sweeten baking etc but can't find a syn value and whether it is less than sugar. I have been counting it like honey as it is similiar stuff but would love to know the syn value if anyone has any idea how to find out for me please!

    Thanks!

    Hi

I too had the same problem many years ago but the gym referred me to my gp and wouldn't let me join without a doctors note saying it was ok. As long as s/he was willing to say that I could exercise, they let me join. Try to find out if this is the case with your gym.

Many gyms now have gp referral schemes for those with weight problems or eg recovering from a heart attack. Ask at your gp surgery if they operate a scheme and which gym they use. It could be that another in your area will accept you.

    Exercise does lower blood pressure.

Now I am older, I take BP medication that it very affective so I had no problems recently joining my local gym. If your bp is high, perhaps its time your medication was reviewed as there have been many advances in recent years.

Don't give up and well done so far
