    Hi consultant 31

Did you hear anything back from head office about buying books online? I am coming to the end of the menu on the site, don't really want to repeat it, but can't get to a class until beginning of September so am going to struggle somewhat with what to eat for the next couple of weeks :o
Buy the magazine, they have a 7 day plan in there plus loads of other recipies.
Also I duno if you have facebook, but there is a slimming world 'group' on there too, and there are loads of ideas and pics on the message board.
I stumbled accross a womans blog on there yesterday with loads of receipie ideas too.

Hi. I'm sorry to say that they've not answered my email - which has annoyed me somewhat. I'll try again tomorrow, in fact, sod it, I'll do it now (though they won't get it till tomorrow I suppose).

You can repeat the menu you do have of course, though I appreciate that's not ideal. Do you have access to a magazine - they have 7 day menus too.

There's also some recipes here which may help since they tell you how many syns etc and whether they're free on certain days:

Edited to add: You can also buy some SW books on Amazon

Hi I also measure mine out in the morning ( I use an old babys bottle, it has a seal and I take it to work with me), I use Semi skimmed and find thats fine for my brekkie and tea and coffee through the day. i make my porridge with water and only add a bit to cook it at the end. The only time I struggle is when I have weatabix as I feel I need more milk. I find it useful to measure it, especially if you have scrambled eggs, pasta n sauce or an ommlette as you can lose track by doing it free hand. If you struggle them maybe you could buy skimmed milk as you get a lot more than semi (350ml instead of 250ml i think) I personnally hate skimmed milk, its like cloudy water lol

Can I ask how you all cope with this?

Its only milk thats a problem.

But I like to use some for my cereal, then have a little for tea at work & then some for tea at home:confused:

Do you measure in the morning & take whats left after your cereal with you to work & then back home again?

Do you guess :o at work:confused:

How do you all cope with this one?

I forgot to post my loss last week. My wi day is Tue. I lost 4lbs last week and have been very good this week. Im now at 11 st 13. My oh is doing it with me, we now have a race to see who can lose a stone in 5 weeks. its my sisters wedding on 24th Sep, so thats my target, or else she'll kill me for not fitting into the bridesmaid dress lol.
I was down to 10 st 7 before xmas (from 13st 4lbs March 08), I felt really good at that weight. My first target is 10st 13 then ill aim for the 10st 7 mark.
I feel realy crap about letting it all pile on. If Christmas didnt happen I would be a size 6 by now! ;)

    Hi guys,

I've just been introduced to Slimming World by a lady at work. She had a mound of food for lunch, all things I liked and I couldn't believe it was a diet!

    It looked fantastic.

I lost 6 stone on WW about two years ago, but its all back on and I now have a wedding on the horizon.

I won't be able to join online (I'm too self-conscious to join a group) until November but I was thinking of buying the books on ebay.

Do you think the concept is easy to pick up?

This is what I've gathered so far:

    - You can have as many red days and green days in a week, to your preference
    - You must incorporate 2 x Healthy Eating A & B's into your menu plan daily
    - There are "free" items for both days and these are unlimited (within reason)
    - The only thing you count is syns. These will be found in the book.

    Is this correct?

Weigh in today and I only lost 1 pound, just doesn't sound like a lot but on the up i think i have lost inches. Also I probably havent helped myself as i have (sorry consultant 31) saved all my syns and binged at the weekend. LOL. I have eaten crap/curry and had a few drinks, oh dear, sooo naughty. Still lost a pound though. back with the program today, also I didn't really enjoy the drink very much so i think i'm going to stick to the food - it was yummy.

Plan for today, I have 2 mini toasts for breakie and i'm having chicken and gravy for tea. Also off to the gym in a bit but i need another cup of tea first.
    1vs 100 £50
    5500/335.25 (5.5K COMING DOWN)
    20.00/10,000(10K GOING UP)
    Not long now
    :)

Hi and welcome to the thread and Slimming world :hello:

First of all can I say that I really recommend you joining a group, even if you only go to the first one to get the pack, the food optimising book is soo valuable to check whats free etc. Ive been doing SW since March 2008 and think I know it inside out, then I find myself checking stuff in the book or online. Please dont be self concience about going to a class, we are all there for the same reason and everyone is really friendly. Noone will announce your weight or anything, only you and the consultant will know that. But the support, motivation and tips you pick up is great.

As for the plan, your right you can vary as many red/green/extra easy days through the week, as long as you pick one and stick to it all day. On red and green you can have 1-2 Healthy extra A's (cheese, milk etc) per day, and you can have 1-2 Healthy extra B's (bread, potatoes(red day) cereal etc)

Once you pick your plan you can have as much 'free' food as you like ie on red as much lean meat, fish as you want, fruit, veg, eggs, quorn etc.
on green you can have unlimited potatoes, pasta, rice, fruit veg , eggs, quorn etc.
There are some exceptions, and this is why you need the book in my opinion.
You can also have between 5-15 syns a day, to be used in any way you like.
You should try and eat as much superfree and superspeed foods as possible and try and drink 2 litres of water a day.

There are other plans such as extra easy, but it might be best to try red/green days just now.

I hope I havnt explained the plan in a complicated way lol. Any questions feel free to ask us.

    good luck
    Nic

Like Nic2075, I would recommend that you join a group. Please don't be tempted to buy the books ftom eBay, they really are a rip-off!

The joining fee at the moment is £9.50, for which you will receive all the boks you need to get you going AND a good introduction into how it all works. There will be a knowledgeable Consultant to answer any questions you may have and a bunch of friendly people who are all there for the same reasons as yourself.

You need to weigh and/or measure your Healthy Extras as well as your syns, but everything else is eaten freely.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
