Brilliant, thank you. :T0 -
Well as i posted before I am following the plan but don't attend a class (me and a friend are both doing this, having both dome the diet in the past and knowing it works for us, we are supporting each other.)
I have managed to dig out my books at last so have been eating well. They are old and out of date but as I mainly cook from scratch with basic ingredients it doesn't matter too much.
Anyway I have lost 9lb in my first week! Yay!!!!I know it's mostly water but I'm still really pleased it's the motivation I needed.
Exercise wise I am doing 1 hour yoga every other night at least (sometimes every night.) and am hopefully fixing my bike this week so I can go for some rides. I am looking for ideas of exercise to fit into my day as I have a 14 month old, and when she was smaller she was perfectly happy to go for long walks in her buggy. Now she runs around she doesn't like being in her buggy for too long as she wants to walk, but this isn't much exercise for me as she is slow. I clean 'energetically' to get some exercise with that, and love swimming so am going to try really hard to make an evening for myself where I can go, when I do I swim 1/2 mile. What do you do? I need ideas pleeease!0 -
what is the woman of the year thing? we did nominations last week and vote this week but I really don't know how you pick someone or what happens to the winner at group? just curiousMum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)

Hi all, I need help.
I was doing so well lately but then my Dad died suddenly and looking after myself let alone eating healthily went right out the window. I made a concious effort over the past month to do something about it, but this week I've gone crazy and wanted to eat everything in sight, comfort eating I guess.

Frankie M- I usually just have fruit or salad for lunch as I only do green days but other ideas: Veggie soup is good too, you can make it syn free, and freeze it in batches so you can zap it. ryvita with houmous and salad (ryvita and houmous are HEB) You can make a nice salad with some chick peas and other pulses in to fill you up a bit more, you can buy tinned varieties of these so very easy to prepare. beans on toast (bread HEB, beans are SS) pasta salad, which can be prepared in advance. Left over dinner from the night before
If I make too much I put it in the fridge for next day, saves thinking about it.
HTH. It's so easy to get stuck in a rut, I do it all the time and have to have a skim through my recipe books/ online recipe sites for some ideas. I am vegan but a tip for dieters is that vegan recipes are usually fairly low fat so take a look online and see if anything appeals and work out syn value from that.0 -

I'm Jo and I am after some advice
Bascally I usually follow weightwatchers, have done for quite a while and lost 31lb so far this year. Now things are tight money-wise I am curious as to if Slimming World would work out cheaper for me.
Usually I will make something for my DS around 5pm, then something for myself around 7.30pm and then my OH will have something when he gets in around 8.30pm (either whatever DS has had or I have had) I usually also buy the W.W. brand things such as biscuits, yoghurts and sometimes bread - although I am more than happy to go without the bread and biscuits!!
My usual diet goes something like this....
Bran flakes for breakfast (with semi skimmed milk, can't stomach skimmed unless in porridge!)
Soup for lunch
Whatever we've got for dinner - sometimes I will have a ready meal (a W.W one or supermarket lower fat), usually I will cook even if its just some pasta with some extra low fat philli thrown in lol.
Can anyone point me in the direction of some frugal slimming world recipes? Preferably ones I can freeze
I really want to lose another 28lb by Christmas. Is it ok if I join?
Thanks in advance for any advice!! Xxx
Good luck with SW, it works for me.
V impressed with your 'Christmas' stuff already - I am just back from my week in the sun (3lbs heavier but motivated to lose it).0 -
Hi all
I started SW about 6 weeks ago, but only went to 2 meetings becaause of personal cirumstances, but have been trying to stick to it at home as much as I can.
I am back on the wagon proper from Monday, and am just gathering some recipies from here, facebook and the slimming world website (my neoghbour who I usually go with gave me the PW)
I am going back to group on Thursday but want to get at least 4 days in of being good, every little helps!
I'm trying to get my OH to stick to it with me, well he will eat anything anyway so he doesnt mind eating the meals, infact he makes me make the slimming world home made oven chips all the bloody time! he wont eat frozen oven chips now!
Also we have just had a new Morrissons open, 5 mins walk from my house (do alot of waling now I have the baby - he is 4 months old) and they have own brand vanilla yogurts what are free! :j
I am following the extra easy plan.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
I'm feeling more positive today after a long talk with my partner last night. Plus I was cheered up by finding a lovely t-shirt in town that fits like a glove....in size 12! so of course I bought two of them!
I'm starting afresh today, I had mullerlight in blueberry and bite size shredded wheat for breakfast, then a jacket potato with cheese and beans plus a side salad in the local pub for lunch. I dont know about dinner yet but the carnival is in town so I'm saving a few syns for a treat of some kind.
Am I right in thinking that you can have 28grm of cereal as a HEb?They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson
