:hello: mgsnomey - quite a few flyladies doing SW now.

I lost 2lb at my weigh in, so I made my two stone before our holiday target :j:j

The quark based quiche suprised me by being excellent - no lumps or sharpness like you get with cottage cheese.

I feel good today, I ate everything that I planned other than the mini fry up this morning as I didn't feel in the mood to cook when I first got up. I spent my syns on a kit kat at which I think is around 11 syns? I also went for a jog this evening!

Tomorrow we're going to have the turkey meat balls and spaghetti mentioned on the SW website, cant wait!

Aargh, sounds like a nightmare!! I'm sure you'll find loads of ideas and inspiration here; any forum that has banana and marmite on it must be imaginative, to say the least.

Can I just ask if anyone has seen the mag this month, why is it that the spiced mango puree with watermelon on p82 has 3.5 syns? It seems a lot for fruit, chilli and spices.

Good luck to everyone for a new week, anyway.

Once fruit is pureed it is synnable - not because the structure or the sugars have changed, but simply because they have very little 'filling' value, unlike solid fruit which has to be chewed.
Think smoothies.........loads of fruit taken as a drink. Chewing the fruit itself would fill you up but the drink (though delicious) is just a drink with very little filling power.

Well, only lost half a pound this week which isn't surprising, so that's only 4.5lb in 4 weeks...hardly great pace but going the right way at least...

Am going to need serious damage limitation this week as am out again this weekend....I don't care what anyone says surely using all my syns on a Sat/Sun and then weighing monday has got to have some kind of effect on the scales!! Thankfully am feeling better so will get to the gym a few times (but again am nervous that might somehow affect my weight, I can't understand why I'm so scaredy cat this time round!!)

Managed to get out a bit earlier yesterday and went to the group before my usual one which was far livelier and much more positive! Only wish I could get there every week.

Thinking of doing something different for the next few days, maybe mix 2 max but I need to read the booklet again and be sure I understand it!

How is everyone else getting along?
  • Just started SW yesterday - am going it alone though, on SMP at the moment so cannot afford to go to class, so I am using my knowledge from previous attempts and the SW magazine to get me through......as soon as I get back to work I will be joining a class though!

Had a GREEN day yesterday, doing an ORIGINAL today. The Mix to Max and Extra Easy wasn't around the last time I did SW so I dont have a clue how to follow the plans so I'll stick to the old red and greens until i go back to class!

I've got 5 stone to lose.....this could take some time!!!!

  • Hi All, Newbie to this site/thread and I think its great that there's a SW thread will loads of encouragement on it!

I'm a twice lapsed SW member and re-joined for the 3rd time a few weeks ago. Like the Extra Easy but prefer green days (oh is a vegetarian) as I get confused with the A and B choices.

Done ok so far but gained 1 1/2 lb this week (Indian take-away + church lunch to blame:rolleyes:) but am going to get my head down and go for a loss this week as I could of had my 1/2 stone award 2 weeks ago but couldn't stay so wasn't awarded it, then put the weight back on this week, but couldn't stay again so am back to almost 1/2 stone loss:o.

This sounds nice - have you got a recipe or is it out of the books/magazines.

I never really liked the cottage cheese quiche and have done various types of quiches using rice as a 'pastry' but they are a bit 'claggy' IYKWIM!

Anyway good luck to everyone - I'll look in again later to see how you've all done - which will be good I'm sure!

Margaret - Hello, it was a recipe at group that I adapted but someone a few pages ago suggested trying it with quark. Fry light your flan dish. I whipped a tub of quark with three large eggs, seasoned, mixed in 1.5 oz grated light mature cheddar and then poured it over some chopped peppers, onions and some frozen sweetcorn. Sprinkled another 1.5 oz of grated cheddar on top. 35 mins in the oven at 160, or till it is firm but slightly bouncy in the middle. Nice hot or cold, and as long as you eat less than half per day is your HEA for the cheese and the rest is free. Use whatever veg you have, nice with pre-cooked pasta mixed in as well, and you can add bacon/chicken, ham or whatever. I wasnt keen on the strong flavour or the lumps with the cottage cheese.

mgsnomey - I mostly use my syns on wine, a lot less in in than I thought. has to be better for than chocolate surely? Or indeed the happy meal I just ate - did give my fries to DS2 though.
