But I'm feeling fed up with it already. Not sure why, but it does seem to really limit what I can eat, everything needs cooking and I'm bored of the easy things to cook. Does anyone else feel like that?

But what would you eat normally then that doesn't need cooking? Is there any way you can adapt these things to fit in with SW? The good thing with SW is it DOESN'T limit what you can eat - you can eat anything - just to varying degrees!
I love my green days so if you need any help just ask! Loads of heads on hee will make things easier!

I've been doing SW for 3 weeks and lost 7.5 lbs, got Slimmer of the Week this week. But I'm feeling fed up with it already. Not sure why, but it does seem to really limit what I can eat, everything needs cooking and I'm bored of the easy things to cook. Does anyone else feel like that?

I've bought the green cook book and Sauce book (I'm vegetarian), I guess I need to make myself actually use them and vary our diet a bit.

I'm meant to be starting a new job next week and feel stressed about that, so I think that dieting at the same time might be making me feel bad, but on the other hand you can always find excuses not to diet, can't you?

Hi from another veggie  and congratulations on getting SOTW. Half a stone in three weeks is brilliant!

I'm not sure from your message whether you're feeling down because you're fed up with cooking everything or whether it's that you're getting bored with the easy stuff? If it's that your fed up with cooking then there's loads of quick options - if you're *really* fed up there's even a few packet sachets (the just add boiling water type) that only take five minutes! If you're bored then the books are definately the way to go. There's often good recipes in the magazines, as well, and have you tried online? I've found quite a few of the meat recipes on there can be adapted by using quorn instead of chicken or soya mince instead of beef. Normal recipes that you used to make can pretty easily be adapted too - use fat free fromage frais instead of yoghurt in sauces and one of the sugar substitutes (I've found spenda pretty good) instead of sugar in stuff for baking.

If it would help, I can pm you with the meals that I've been making? Currently I've a household of seven ranging from age 2 to age 42 including a couple of picky teenagers and I'm managing to feed them SW food which they're eating happily with no idea it's good for them - so it can't be too bad!

Re your work, do they have a kettle, or a microwave? Either would make life quite a bit easier. Although the weather atm is great for a chuck-it-all-in salad - salad leaves, grated carrot, shredded beetroot, cubed melon, grapes, strawberries, sweetcorn - it sounds wierd but it tastes fantastic! Don't forget if you'd rather escape the office and get a sandwich you can count your bread in the sandwich as one of your healthy extras, which makes it a bit more flexible in terms of filling.

I've been doing SW for 12 weeks and have lost a couple of stone, so please don't give up. Hopefully it's just the worry about your job that is getting you down and once you've started that it'll get better.

I know what you mean about getting bored - I'm lucky if I manage a full week without losing interest. Particularly bored with yoghurt and fruit being the only snacks I can think of!

I find that the cooking is ok, I try to make 3-4 portions of something. Then if the boyf is in he gets 2 portions (piggy, all though you wouldnt know it to look at him), I eat 1 for dinner, then 1 left for lunch the next day, so less cooking overall. I try and do the same with scan bran cake so I'm not making that all the time.

Also I hate the 'quorn, potato and veg' standard meal. I mean I know I can eat a lot of it, but it does get dull after a while. And then chilli, spag bol and veg curry all seem to be a variation on the same thing - veg/onion/garlic/tomato.

I think maybe I'm not helping you with this! You're probably right that the new job might be stressing you out. Maybe you could carefully plan little treats (syns) each day until you start the job and relax a bit? Failing that, rather reluctantly I have discovered that exercise is a great stress reliever - once I get there (and have stressed myself out trying to come up with excuses not to go!).

  • WI today, lost 3lb and got SOTW - hurrah! Think they felt sorry for me missing it two weeks ago as I had to leave early due to screaming small person, but he was good as gold today. I'm really, really chuffed as I'm down to the size that I was before I had my DD five years ago. If I drop another size and a half I'll be the same size I was when I got engaged sixteen years ago - and back to the slimmest I've ever been! I'd still be heavier than I should be (and plan to keep going) but it'd still be a massive boost and what I'm aiming hard for right now.

I am a bit worried though as DD is on school holiday from Friday so I won't be able to stay to Image therapy for the next six weeks. She couldn't not talk without wrapping gaffa tape over her mouth several times and I don't want to disturb everyone else at the meeting. I'm really hoping I can stay focussed . . . I'd like to change to an evening meeting but I'm so busy already most evenings that I really can't justify leaving my poor dh home alone for the two evenings we have off together atm! Not without getting divorce papers from him anyway . . .

:T great work on getting SOTW rabbitintheheadlights!

Having a rotten day today, got a cold (flu even?) and it's totm (yes, put on 1.5lb this week, means only lost 2lb in total...determined to have that off and more by Monday!), have taken more painkillers but just want my bed. Have already decided it's mash, quorn sausages and gravy for dinner tonight, proper comfort food
