I've got my second weigh in tonight. According to my scales I am 8 lbs lighter than last week, but not sure what the difference between mine and their scales will be.

Can anyone tell me how I work out how many Syns I should be aiming for? The lady at the first meeting said between 5 and 15, but wondered how you decide. I've been averaging about 12 I think. I'm doing the green plan as I'm vegetarian so that makes it nice and simple.

Bit tricky working out the syns I guess they give you a guideline because with such a flexible programme they don't want to suddenly say "you can only have 5" etc. I've decided to go for 10 a day (or 70 a week and count down thought it might work better mentally for me!) I suppose will have to see how it affects weight loss.

Well, I decided to give the mullerlight a try, had the vanilla one with 28g dorset cereal nut muesli (HEB - want to use it up, too expensive to go to waste) soaked ina bit of boiling water for 10 mins to make it mushy, then added chopped banana and pear....was LOVELY! Took ages to eat too, nice and full now :D
  • I love dorset cereal, I didn't realise I could have that as a HEB. I was under the impression I could only eat the cereals listed in the green/red book.

Can someone confirm this for me please that I can use different cereals and how do I know what weights/measurements to use.

This thread is brill, there's loads of advice on here. x
Be happy, it's the greatest wealth :)

I found the additional HEB's on the website (under 'eat and slim' then 'latest healthy extras') just bear in mind you don't get much for your 28g with Dorset muesli!

I made this cheesecake last night, but used a strawberry jelly with vanilla muller light and digestives as I had these in anyway. I'm so impressed! It came out so well. Very tasty and easy to but into portions once set. I have some in the fridge for later too :jump:

  • Hi all
I havent joined SW as of yet, but will be going to my first meeting on Thursday.
I have tried WW before, but never really stuck to it.
I'm going to SW as my neighbour goes so i'm going with her.
I dont know how much I want to loose, well all in all 5 stone but i'm gonna aim for a small amount to start with, 5 stone seems so much!
I have a 11 week old baby (plus a 5 year old too!) but luckily didnt put on hardly any weight during pregnancy, I was the same with my first but unfortunately put on 2.5 stone after having him so dont want to fall into that trap again!
I will go back and read the thread as and when I can x

Oh yes I forgot to say I'm getting married next July, so really want to shed a few pounds for that too, i'd be happy to fit into a size 14-16 again (am currently 18-20)

Hello, does anyone think a nice refreshing drink of lassi would be free on SW? I prefer the savoury or salt lassi so it is water, 0-fat plain yoghurt, spices - this is a recipe I c&p from the internet to give you an idea if you don't know what it is. I'd forgotten how much I like it, and if it is free it will be a pleasant change from water:

The Traditional Lassi is a salty yogurt drink which is a thicker consistency than that of buttermilk. It can be spiced with various spices and ingredients, but it almost always includes ground cumin powder. Here are two types of Savory Lassi- one the classic plain lassi and the second with a Mint twist. It's extremely easy and quick to make not to mention very refreshing and cooling to beat the heat of Summer.
    Salty Lassi(Serves 4)
    3 cups plain yogurt
    1 cup cold water.
1 fresh green chili, seeded and very finely chopped
    ½ tsp ground cumin
    salt and pepper to taste
Fresh cilantro(coriander)or mint leaves to decorate
    Crushed ice to serve

Pour the yogurt and water into blender for 1 min.
Add in the chili, cumin, season to taste with salt and pepper and bled together
    Serve over crushed ice
Garnish with a sprinkle of cumin powder and finely chopped cilantro (coriander)or mint.

any advice would be appreciated *mouth watering already*
    Thanks
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

    Hello all,

I am after an alternative to scan bran. I sadly can't eat scan bran as its not gluten free, but some of the receipies on the sw website look really tasty and i would really like to taste some of them. My consultant said the ginger cake was lovely.
I have some gluten free crackerbread, i wonder if that would do?
    Any ideas?
