Hi can anyone tell me the syn value for Cauldren organic Falafel on a green/Ee day please.
They were £1 in Morrissons and looked yummy. Morrissons also have their Eat Smart Pork sausages (free) for £1.79 instead of £1.99. Not a massive saving but I do like them for my brekkie on a red day and find them too expensive. id love to try Joe sasauges but its too dear to get the minimim amout required.
I used to buy the Morrisons ones until only a few weeks ago.
They didn't have any, so I tried the Bowyers ones (think they're £2.29) and knew these were 1 syn, so a half more than Mr M's ones, but I have to say these are lovely pork sausages! Really worth the extra few pence and half syn.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone had any picnic ideas for a green day? We are going to Wimbledon next week and OH wants to take cheese rolls. I'd rather save my syns for the Pimms (ooh that rhymes!) - any suggestions?
What's the deal with wraps? Are they a HEB?
If not, I think I'll skip the bread as I'm not that keen anyway.0 -
Does anyone know how bad Nando's is? I've checked the online syns and the only think I can find is this
Nando's Peri-Peri 1/4 Flame-Grilled Chicken Breast 1 mediumOriginal 6 Syns
Green 17 Syns
I usually have the chicken breast in pitta, not the 1/4 chicken. Is the one above assuming that you eat the skin that comes with it? What would I count for the breast only. Without skin, it means the spice is on the bit I eat, not the skin I take off? What should I count for the chicken.
Pitta is 7.5 syns for a standard, so say 4 syns for that.
What should I count for the chicken.
I also take the spicy rice on the side.... any ideas on syns?Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
WI today and lost 2lb so now up to 1 1/2 stone in eight weeks - hurrah!
I bought the sauces book last week and had a look through it, but I've found most of the recipes require vlf quark or fromage frais and I can't find any in Mr T's, Asda or Morrisons. I can only get vlf yoghurt or vlf creme fraiche. Has anyone else had any luck getting hold of them? Can I use vlf yoghurt instead? The only yoghurt sauce I fancied trying required reduced fat creamed coconut - and I can't get hold of that either! I can't even get *fat* creamed coconut. :rotfl:
Maybe I wasted my money and should have got a different book . . . anyone have any suggestions?Slimming World convert, joined 23rd April 2009

The wraps vary from about 6 to 9 syns. I've bought the Discovery ones before. The plain ones are 8.5 each! The Garlic and Coriander ones are 6 syns but they give you terrible wind! :rotfl:Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

I'd go for salad, personally. My mum makes "chuck everything in" salad, so it's normal salad leaves and radishes, carrots, etc. But then she adds in extra stuff like hard boiled eggs, cubes of melon, peach, quartered strawberries, grapes, anything really. It's lovely!
I don't know about the wrap but you could always try using a rolling pin to flatten some normal bread and using that as a wrap?I know someone who used to make an "english" sushi by rolling white bread flat and then rolling the bread around rice! She seemed to like it (no accounting for taste!).

I bought some Quark at Morrisons last week and I have definately bought in Asda and Sainsburys in the last 3 months. It's always with the Cottage Cheeses and always blooming difficult to spot it on the shelf! They don't carry a lot of it so there's likely to be only a few on the shelf or they've run out (which happens a lot)Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

No, I tried the cottage cheese section and it's not thereI know that they *used* to have it as I bought it there once before back when I started sw. There's no gap on the shelf where it's missing and no shelf ticket for it either. There's no Sainsburys here and I'd have to drive to Norwich to find one. I guess I just live too far out in the sticks. The sooner I can get back to civilisation the better! I guess I'll try the yoghurt thing and see how it goes, though I assume there's a reason why ffrais/quark are recommended rather than yoghurt in most of the recipes . . . ?
