Ooohhh, thank you very much for that nic2075.
I'm just working through what's in the house at the mo so I'll be back up to full steam on first WI next week.
Do you do EE yourself? Do you find you have to watch portion sizes to get a result? How on earth does this work - I've always done the green or red before so really interested in feedback on results.
:T
I can't speak on behalf of everyone else, but on EE I don't watch portion size - I eat as much as I need to be full. One of the main rules for EE is as much superfree food as possible, which I do with salad or veg. I find my meals are much more balanced on EE - not piled high with pasta and a tiny bit or meat, or vice versa.
I was very doubtful about EE at first and introduced it on weekends. Now I tend to do EE all the time and just a green day now and again depending on what the meal plans are.
My weightloss whilst doing EE has been very steady and very regular - 2lb a week without the hassle of weighing all your meat or potatoes, pasta, rice etc.
Give it a whirl and see how you go - it won't suit everyone but hey, you never know! :T0 -
Hello all, haven't posted in a while as been quite busy. I have to say I've been finding it really hard. I have gone out for a meal about 4 times in the last 2 weeks and have not made much of an effort to stick to plan. I didn't drink anything though and I find that makes it all much worse. However it's my birthday tomorrow and I went out on saturday night (having had a takeaway curry on fri eve!!!!!!) and drank quite a lot, I really tried to be good and mainly had vodka and soda, but then slipped had 2 LARGE glasses of wine and a jaggermister and red bul!!!! (and was bought an apple sourz!!) God I hate how horrid I feel about it all.
I am going out to zizzis with the family tonight, after my WI (which i'm terrified of as I put on 0.5 lb last week) and then tomorrow i'm in london and will be eating out again! I just can't seem to choose the SW options when eating out, cos it doesn't feel a treat. Please can I have some help!! I have been being good the rest of the time, so am not completely blowing the diet as I know that could be even worse, but I'm not really lowering my syns other days to make up for being so bad!!
I feel quite depressed which is sad over my bday. Thanks for any advice in advance xxx
will post more fully but cant at the moment as about to go out.
Don't Quit
When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
And forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your Syns a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the strugglers, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
That the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
But facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!0 -

It's my 2nd week doing SW and I STS. I followed the diet rigourlously allowing myself between 2-7 syns a day. The only thing I can think I boobed with is bread, I've got WW malted danish, just been having 2 pieces in the moring with either beans or mashed banana on top. According to the book I should have bought WW malted brown. Surely would this slight hiccup have caused this blip?
Oh, and another thing. You know fruit is supposed to be free, well I ate loads last week making myself yummy fruit salads (melon, strawberries, blueberries) and pouring a pot of muller yogurt with sprinkles, vanilla, so that should be syn free. But at what about the sugar content I must have had loads. At what point in the diet do you need to start to be aware of calories/sugar/portion control?
I can be a bit of a greedy pig and have just ate loads of free foods with very few syns. Do I need to up my syn intake at all to help speed up weight loss, I'd have thought that as it's only my 2nd week I'd have shifted some flab?
Wasn't star week either!
I would say up your syns a little and bring them down gradually - a sudden diet can be a shock to the body so ease yourself into it gently.
As for calories, sugar etc. I can't say I've ever really thought about it. I have always just gone by the basic rules, if it's free eat as much as you like. As someone said in a previous post though, eating too much of one kind of thing can slow you down.
As for the bread, I personally can't see it would make a difference. (I'm sure someone will correct me!) I just usually have 57g of whichever wholemeal bread was cheapest in the supermarket and it's never hampered me!
Keep your chin up - not everyone has great losses at the start. it can take a while to adjust and things such as metabolism, starting weight, stress levels, personal circumstances etc. can all have a big effect!
Good luck!0 -
I mainly stick to red and green as I find mixing them through the weeks works great for me. I sometimes have an EE day at the weekend if we fancy a curry with meat and rice etc. I dont watch my portions but I do up my fruit/salad/veg intake on EE days. i just eat til im full then maybe go back for more. When I do red/green and and the odd EE (and stick to it lol) I always lose about 1.5 - 2 lbs a week but when I stuck to full weeks of EE (when it first started after xmas) I was only losing 0.5 a pound or staying the same. I find it much less forgiving.
Its all about trying everyting and seeing what suits you and your lifestyle.Ooohhh, thank you very much for that nic2075.

I joined Slimming World this week after meeting someone I hadn't seen for several months who had lost 3 stone  I didn't even recognise them at first.
I am fed up going low carb for a few days and then bingeing on chocolate. I am at my heaviest weight ever and feel a real frump. I am following the Original this week and am enjoying eating more fruit than normal. I made a Courgette soup which all the family enjoyed and am wishing the weeks away to be slimmer.
I have found it quite easy to follow, just hope I get a good weight loss to motivate me.Money SPENDING Expert0 -

Have you written everything down and also double checked syn values? Get your consultant to check over the food diary, he/she may spot something you have missed.0 -

You may also be havnig too few syns, my mam stuck to 8-10 syns a day and lost 1/2 a pound a week or sts, then she bumped them to 15 a day and she has lost between 1 pound and 2.5 a week since then
So I would check your syns as well
