I still can't quite get my head around the concept of restricting dairy and bread and then eat as much as you like of everything else (free foods) - it doesn't make sense in my head that you do that, could stuff yourself silly and essentially end up with a weight loss??? Seems like there should be a catch! Maybe once I have seen some results on SW, I will get it?
That's not what SW is all about........yes, you're encouraged to eat lots of free foods but not 'stuff yourself silly'. There isn't a diet on the planet that would work if it encouraged that!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Consultant - I know you're not actually meant to stuff yourself silly - I mean it seems that you can eat a lot more and actually eat until you are satisfied on SW which is a lot more than on WW where you eat until the plate is empty.
I hope I am making sense? I am just new to the idea that you can eat until you are sufficiently full at each meal and then still lose weight... seems like such a better idea than what I have been doing (unsuccessfully)!0 -

I have someone at the class I go to that had trouble with that too, she was a ex WW and it took her a couple of weeks to get to grips with the SW plan as you dont have to count stuff on SW that you do on WW (like fruit etc)
But just last week she got her Club 10 award and is now only 3 pounds away from declaring targetDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Just checking in, I have been on sw since 12/05/09 and I have lost a stone so far. I've been sticking to it as best I can and for the last couple of weeks have lost 3lbs.
I've had an emotional week because my dad died. I have reverted to type and reached for the chocolate but not as bad as I have in the past, instead of eating a massive bar of dairy milk I had a club and a penguin. I'm hoping if I'm really good between now and thursday no-one will ever know :A0 -

I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I lost my lovely Dad 2 years ago next week. I miss him every day and like you, I took to the biscuit tin. The one thing that stopped me was remembering how proud my Dad was when I lost my weight in the first place.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Kelly, your menus look good, but you're not having enough HEAs. It looks as if you're following the Green plan at the moment and mixing your one HEA to incorporate some cheese and some milk.
You're allowed 5 LC light triangles and 350mls skimmed milk. I would advise that you have your full allowance of both to maximise your calcium intake.
If as you say, you're in this for the long haul, eat your full allowance of syns (15 a day) so that you can cut down a bit later on when the going might get a little tougher.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I know it can be hard when you come from WW to SW. The best advise I can give is to forget everything you ever learned from WW. Throw yourself whole-heartedly into Food Optimising, trust it completely and you will see great results.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Not having the HEA has been an accident. When I started I planned to follow the EE plan, I just happened to not have any meat on these days which has made it a green day by accident lol Looks like I'll have to have a milky coffee today then?! 15 syns as well, not sure I actually want anything else!
Thank you for taking a look though
@ Shelley, very sorry to hear your sad news x0
