    Hi Flat Eric,
Could you explain what you meant by lasagne crisps? what are they and what did you mean about a misuse of free foods? Maybe I've been misusing fee foods and that's why I've not lost anything.
    Thanks
    liz

    Hello.
    The recipe is:

Parboil for 1 min lasagne sheet(s)
    cool down
    cut up
    spray with fry light
and cook in pre heated oven (220 o ) for 5 mins.

Serve with a yummy tomato relish.
    of blanched tomatoes
    shallots/spring onions
    corriander
    parsley
    chives
    tablespoon tomato puree
    salt and pepper

the above will need some tweaking - im not a great cook and I just noted down in shorthand the recipe /and what to do from the member who made them and brought them to class.

the misuse of free foods applies where you use a free food item out of context. i.e you use cous cous (which is a free food on a green day) as a flour substitute to make a cous cous.

I think it works on the principle that if you were on a green day making a lasagne using quorn mince, you might use 4 sheets but if you were making the crisps , you might use 12 sheets thus the point is you require far more. Does that make sense? I understand the principle of misuse of free foods but Im struggling to explain it!!

If you ate an orange that would be free but if you juiced an orange that would have to be synned - because whilst you might only eat one orange, you might need 12 oranges to make a glass of juice if you see what i mean.

Does that count with yogurts too? If i had say 4 would that be a misuse?

No cause they're an unlimited free food. Juicing an orange isn't a 'misuse' it just s needs to be synned as it takes more in juice form to fill you up than it would as a whole fruit.

I always think 'what would a person NOT on SW do?' They wouldn't make crisps from lasagne sheets and they wouldn't make cake from couscous so these are misuses.

Thanks very much for this, I'm not really understanding it but could well be why I'm not losing weight. If I made a lage crisp by baking mashed potato until it dried and crisped up would this be a misuse?

Not really because crisps are made from potato's. Hence why SW chips are free - thats what potato's are made to do ;) If you ate 6 large baking potato's as crisps then yes, it's probably overdoing it as no 'none SW person' would eat that many just because they could (nor could you if they were as baked potato's otherwise you'd burst!). It is confusing and a lot of us disagree on a few things but hey, it's whatever works (or doesn't!)

My explanation wasnt great Im afraid re misuse of free foods and Im sorry if I have confused you further!

I think at the end of the day when following SW, variety is the key. If things are not moving for you then why not post a couple of your days food choices on here and we can see if there is anything obvious that jumps out?

BradnJanet - looks ok to me - I can't see anything drastically wrong. Are you drinking enough water? Water is essential for digestion though it can be replaced by tea/coffee but you still need plenty.
