I've been lurking for a while now, but just wanted to let someone know that I have just come back from a 2 week all inclusive holiday and STAYED THE SAME :T :j
The hotel could really be sold as a Slimming World retreat, the food was brilliant and easy to do red/green and have lots of naughty food too!!!
Am really happy and very shocked when I stood on the scales this morning!
Just need to make sure I don't get complacent (sp!) and that it doesn't creep on next week!"this money saving lark is a full time job"0 -

Hi all,
Hope it's OK if I join in. I have been reading the thread for a few weeks now and could really do with some support/help. I joined online two weeks ago. I am hypothyroid and have been really ill for a few years now. Because it took so long to diagnose I put on nearly 4 stone even though I was eating next to nothing.
I have tried so hard to lose even a small amount but it just won't budge.
Since I have been doing this I haven't lost at all. I am so worried that I never will. I have stuck religiously to ee, kept sins to a minimum but ate loads of fresh veg and fruit. I am wondering if it is because my metabolism is just shot to pieces. I have been eating salads and stuff all the while I've been ill.
Yeasterday I ate
Breakfast
2 egg omellette no oil
melon with onken fat free yoghurt
snack 10 almonds
lunch chicken breast, lettuce , cucumber, radish, tomatoes, onions and grated carrot
snack pear and banana
dinner piece veal, sprouts, brocolli, 4 new potatoes
I use my milk for tea as I do drink a lot of it.
Can anyone see if I am doing anything wrong or is there anyone else with thyroid probs.
Thanks0 -
Well me and the missus have started SW. She is going to the meetings with a friend and we are both following.
First weigh in today - She lost 6.5lb and i lost 4 so we are very happy.
Quick question - we are due to go for a thai meal this weekend - mine will be simple chicken and rice - no sauce but my partner loves the thai green curry. Can anyone tell me how bad it is pls!!!
Thanks0 -
welcome new people
I am new to the plan myself but Susiebaby but that looks fine to me (i assume it was an original day)
re the thai curry
from website
Main event – green or red curry are the most well-known Thai dishes, (with those names you’d think they’d be Food Optimising-friendly!) However, the dishes are made with rich Syn-filled sauces. Healthier menu items include fish and meat that are described as steamed or grilled. These include Hor neung mok pla (hot & sour steamed fish) this tastes and looks pretty impressive – packaged in a banana leaf! Pat gaprao gai (minced chicken with chillies and lime leaves) is another of the healthier Original options. Although it’s a stir-fry dish, it’s made up of Free basic ingredients and there’s no creamy sauce. For a Green choice, pad thai jay is a veggie version of the classic stir fried noodle dish (although the Syns in the oil will need to be taken into account). Khao Suey (Thai fragrant rice) is delicately flavoured steamed rice and gorgeous for a Green day.

Evening all, I only joined the forums yesterday and so have spent a lot of yesterday and today having a look around. Am very glad to have found this thread.
I've been going to SW for about 18 months now and am pleased to say I've lost a grand total of 2st 9lbs in that time. I had a bit of a weird 4 months where I lost a couple, put on a couple and then put on a couple more but I've got all of that off now and am almost back down to the lowest I'd got to before the weird bit started. I hope to get the last 11lbs off by the end of August. Would be so happy if I managed it
I should have gone tonight but woke up this morning with a very bad back and finding it hard to get around, it'll be ok in a day or two though - old back problem so nothing to worry about too much.
Nice to see everyone here and to be able to say hello

Hi Everyone, I hope it's all going well for you all. I've been wondering about Healthy Extras and if they have to be taken each day or could they be used over a couple of days to perhaps have an extra cheesy something or other for example or two sandwiches etc. If the syns can be spread over the week can healthy extra do the same?
Thanks in anticipation.

I haven't got evidence to back this up but I would suggest that you don't spread out the healthy A choices as they are there to provide calcium. If you don't have enough calcium in your diet, then calcium will be taken from your bones, leading to an increased risk of osteoporosis0 -

Thanks Shaz
We did look last night but cant find a syn value for it at all. Im guessing as a treat and if she has no sins for two days she could probably get away with it. Or she may feel inspired to try something different and then we can try and make the thai curry SW style at home!!
