Im on microgynon. Even as a teenager I found it easier to keep slim when I wasn't on the pill so it definitely has an effect.

I put so much weight on when I was on microgynon and as a result I did some research in to it and it is a VERY common affect of that pill. I came off it afterward, wish I had done the research first! I am on cilest now, and always find that dieting on cilest works just as it would without a pill where as when on microgynon I was gaining pounds by breathing!

Beachbeth - when I first joined slimming world a few years ago I didn't exercise and the weight still fell off. However this being my third attempt I knew my body would be more used to it so I needed to help it along so I try and do 30mins a day. Sometimes I just walk somewhere I might have driven in the past, or sometimes on my wiifit. I think if this is your first go then you don't need to exercise straight away. Most people start when they've already lost some of the weight as if it's a lot to come off it helps tone up the skin and rest of the body, and when ppl come to a rut near the end extra exercise seems to help then.

miss_emmajane - 7.5lbs in 3 weeks is brilliant, well done! I've lost 5 pounds in my first 2 weeks and hoping to reach 7 by my bday, the 17th. I'm young too - 23 - but not a student anymore. Maybe we could share moneysaving SW recipes??

I lost 3lb on the first week, 3.5 on the second and 1 on the last - was a bit disappointed with just 1 but then I realised together it was 7 1/2 lbs and I was happy, lol! I am sure you will get to 7 before then, probably much further :)

Money saving would be great! I keep thinking that my shopping is using the money that I would have used on fatty meals out but it does seem to be a drain because I find if I don't have enough in to choose from I get disheartened so I have to keep my muller lights, quorn and jacket potato supply up! Haha

If you want to a buddy - we've both just started as well so that would be some nice support :) I have msn too, on it most evenings. :o

Miss_emmajane - sounds like a plan! how much weight have you got to loose if you don't mind me asking? I've got about 3 - 3.5 st altogether!!! I'm feeding my OH on it too and he's already lost 6lbs in 2 weeks but he likes to keep all his syns for the weekend and then have a few beers and things like that. I have to say I'm finding the best thing to drink out is vodka and soda water, cheap, only 2.5 syns and refreshing!!

I haven't put down my target yet - going to put it down on Monday at my next weigh in. I am 5'8 and started at 15st4lbs and am now 14st10.5lb - I think I am going to make my tartget 11st so that is 3st10.5lb to go! So about the same as you :)

My boyfriend is one of those annoying people who is thin and can eat whatever they want and we don't live together so he isn't really effected but when we eat together he normally has what I has and enjoys it anyway as he loves healthy food (God must have blessed him, thin and likes healthy food but can eat whatever he wants without an effect!)

I have about 5-6 syns a day, normally a mini milk or curly wurly - or if I have chance to go to M&S I have the 3syn hoola hoops .. but I also have been having one night off a week so I can eat stuff I want without feeling any guilt - its something I agreed with myself when starting and it hasn't affected my loss as far as I can see. The first week I had vindaloo, naan bread and an onion bajhi with a chocolate yoghurt for dessert, second week chip shop wine and chocolate snaps, third week was pizza and chips. I had some high syn foods throughout the week last week though, which is why I only lost 1lb I think.

I hardly drink but I have some vodka at the ready for when I do and I am thinking vodka and coke zero! :o

Not been on few a while now, and I've been yo-yo'ing for 4 weeks. This week I've been excellent though so hoping for a decent loss at WI tonight. Really enjoyed bbq over the weekend. Shame the weather won't play along this weekend.

Gutted I missed the Sainsbury's muller lights as I'm down to my last few. Been eating 2 a day this week, as they go out of date this week - lol

Welcome emma_jane. Don't you love having a new starter number? I love these even more than the [STRIKE]stickers[/STRIKE], awards (just for my lovely consultant who tells me they're not stickers! :p)

I still love the meatballs recipe in the 50 best ever book, we make these every week. They're so yummy! I still struggle with green days though. My fingers swell up and I always feel bloated, so only have 1 green day a week. Does anyone else have this?
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

Just wanted to report my weight on here as I said I would, to help me stay on track.

    Start weight - 14st4.5 (Mar 08)
    Target - 12st9 (achieved Oct 08)

    Weight now - 13st8 (3/6/09)

That means I'm 13lb above my target. Ideally I'd like to get back to target by 1st Aug for my next holiday.
I have been following the plan exactly so far this week. Have also been for a 30min walk each evening with my OH while the weathers been so nice. I've got a girlie shopping day out on Sat though which is also a pub lunch & lots of wine, but will have lot's of walking around the shops!

You're right about that. I just have to look at a cake and Ive put on 2 pounds. The nurse gave me Microgynon as an alternative to the pill I was on when I said I was putting weight on! I don't really feel any different though and still want to eat as much! I'll mentino Cilest when I next visit the nurse and see what she says.
