Oh boy, I really suck at this dieting lark. I had cheap tickets to a circus yesterday, so went with a friend and had a burger and chips.

Trying to be good today, I'm eating my ham salad for lunch, but all I can think is I really need some smokey bacon crisps to go with it, and a bar of Dairy Milk for afters :o I ate my apricot to try to combat sugar cravings this morning and lasted til lunch without eating anything bad, but I know I'm going to have terrible chocolate cravings this afternoon.

How do you successful people do it, I feel like I'm going mad, all I can think about is food (junk food that I can't eat) and I actually had a dream about a fudge and choc dessert the other night?!

I crave chocolate as well, i had a freddo today, only 5.5 syns and if you eat it very slowly taking little bites, it tends to do the job.

Curly wirly's are quite low to, although i tend to get jaw ache eating them.

What about the Hi Fi bars, they have a mint choc one, although not sure what they taste like as i can't eat them due them having gluten in.

Hi all, managed to loose a pound in my first week last night which considering I was bad over the weekend with wine I'm really pleased with. I am starting to feel a bit stressed about my OH though. He wanted to do the diet with me, refused to come to the meetings so I said fine, just make sure u read everything thoroughly. However he is seemingly unwilling to actually sit down and read through it all. He seems to expect me to just tell him what he can and can't eat and is then surprised when I tell him he's had too many syns when he's eaten loads of crisps etc... So i come back from my first WI last night with the syn directory and tell him to look in there and stop asking me every 3 seconds!! I also bought the 100 green book and he briefly flicked through the pages and then said he didn't like anything in it. How encouraging!!

Right, rant over.... just wondering if anyone else has issues with partners doing the diet, and tricks or tips or anything to stop me getting so fed up I'll just stop the diet!

Well done to all loosing! xxx

Well done on the loss, my dh has said that once i've lost a stone he will join to, however he is reluctant to change his eating plans. He drinks up to 3 cans of lager a night and snacks on crap in the evenings, so unless he changes his ways he won't loose anything.

Thanks smegs! About your previous post there's a blog link on here somewhere for slimming world recipes which is quite good. Also I find if I'm lacking inspiration some pasta or a risotto always works as I always use lots of free foods.

Your post made me laugh! I crave foods too. I lost 6 lb this week and I had cream meringues, crisps and chocolate every day. I just counted it as syns. I make sure that my meals don't contain any syns and then I use my syns for treats. I have curly wurlys as they take ages to eat and if you put them in the fridge you can snap them into tiny pieces. I also like frazzles. I don't drink alcohol as I would rather have other treats. My OH has half a bottle of wine 4 times a week and counts that as syns and he lost too.
I'm not a saint - I have bad days too. I just try and forget them and start afresh the next day. We had a chinese on Saturday night and totally came off track but just started again the next day and I still had a good loss.
It took me years to put the weight on so it's going to take a while to come off.
