Yes you only have 1 HEA and 1 HEB with extra easy. It is also recommended that you have a third of a plate of superfree foods with each meal.

Also, in the booklet it only lists a few of the HEs you can have, but you're allowed to pick any from the main Food Optimising book Green or Original section.

The only other thing is, if you choose a synned food with a meal, you count the lowest syn value (ie: if it's 3 on Green and 5 on Original, you would count 3)

The reported weight losses have been good.

Well done with your weight loss this week:)

Thanks for the words of encouragement you lot:A

Today has gone OK so far and I have saved some syns for me to enjoy a glass of red wine while watching Britains got talent:D

I havent felt hungry at all and still have 1 HEB to play with if I feel peckish later, I might knock myself up some baked potato quick chips (cook jacket spud in microwave, cut into chips with skin on spray with frylite then whack in the oven for 10 mins) with some cheese melted over them.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Hi consultant. Thanks for this. I think I am fine with measures. My HEB is always cereal for breakfast and I only use one heb per day. Exercise is fine. I run about 18 miles a week and do martial arts and swimming. I eat loads of what I'm allowed as I'm supposed to. I need to up the water definitely. My cereal is 1 weetabix made up to 28g with pure wheat bran. I would be surprised if this is a problem but not sure. I eat one cottage cheese a day 0.4% fat and a banana with my cereal for breakfast. So I'm guilty of not enough variety. Lunch is salad and fruit most days with fish on red or a tin of spagetti hoops on green. Supper will then be meat with free veg on red. pasta rice or potatoes on green usually with some form of quorn, like chilli, sausage, curried. Regular mullers through the day. I have reduced bananas to 2 perday and introduced apples. Cheese is always small scrapings of paresan around 15g a day. HEA is skimmed UHT milk around 200 ml.

Do superspeed foods only work if eaten instead of other stuff or will they work in addition to, like the berries example you gave?

    Pete

 Do you keep a food diary? If not, it's a good idea to do so at such times as these. It may be that you have slipped into bad habits with your weighing and measuring (apologies if you know you haven't).

It's very easy when you've been following the plan for a while, to think you know what an ounce of cheese looks like without weighing, or where the cereal comes to up the side of the bowl without measuring.

For the next week, be absolutely sure that you check weights and measurements. Also double-check that the things you think are free foods or HEs, actually are (for instance, many members think, wrongly, that Special K is a HEB). As another 'for instance', even though Batchelor's Savoury Rice if free, not every other brand is, so it's a good idea to check if you're swapping brands

Try hard to up your water intake, especially since the weather is so warm.

Try to increase your activity level - it's not necessary to flog yourself to death, just walk more often and at a faster rate (breathing a little more heavily, not gasping please......I don't want to be responsible for you collapsing).

Are you eating enough? Daft as it sounds, you need to be eating plenty of free foods (and lots of variety)or your body will hang grimly onto every extra calorie in case you're going to starve!

Make an effort to have plenty of S or SS foods with each meal. This can be as simple as adding some berries to your morning cereal, or a side-salad to your lunch or dinner.

I do sympathise with your frustration at staying the same for several weeks, but it will pick up again if you're sure you're following the plan 100%.

Have you checked your measurements (waist size etc)? Often on weeks that you don't lose pounds you will lose inches, which is always nice :D

Hope some of these ideas help x

Way to go LouiseJ....that level of committment will carry you through, well done :)

Anyone spotted cheap Mullers this week other than the 4 for £2 offer which isn't what I would call an offer.

    Thanks

    Pete

I know this was posted a few days ago but I was just in Sainsburys and they had 8 Mullers for £2.00. Looking at the website it doesn't seem to exist but I saw it instore this morning. Didn't buy any because I've got a fridge full!

    Pete

    I don't know how you've stuck with it so far, I would have got bored long ago and given up completely, I try to get as much variety as possible at lunch and dinner, but I was sticking with the same breakfast pretty much every day, so last week I had 6 different breakfasts over the seven days and lost 2 lbs, so it obviously worked for me, this is what I had;

    2 weetabix
    28g Porridge
    28g Raisin wheats
2 eggs scrambled on 2 nimble wholemeal
Fruit, yogurt & a hifi bar
    28g mini shredded wheat

I always have lots of different cereals in the house as my kids like to have a wide choice, so its a little easier for me maybe but it can be done. Sometimes on the weekend I might have bacon, eggs etc, but I am making much more of an effort to not get stuck in a rut.

Variety is the spice of life, there is a little book called something like "100 food optimising days" and it has 100 different days planned out, red and green, different 'themes' etc, and I sit down every so often and pick out the things I like, I've found it the most helpful book I have, its a little pocket sized one so handy to stick in a pocket so you can read it during lunch break or on the bus or wherever, I don't always choose to follow the whole day, but its given me loads of different ideas.

    Good luck!

    Evening all,

I've just got back from a hot and sunny day on the beach in Weymouth and hope I havent eaten too bad?

Breakfast - 2 x weetabix and skimmed milk
Lunch - Crayfish and rocket low fat wrap, fruit salad, skinless chicken leg
Dinner - eggs and bacon (cooked in fry light)

Can I get away with that for a red day?

Superspeed foods are good to have however you choose to have them. They can be eaten as part of a meal or as snacks through the day.

The one thing (apart from the lack of variety) that you're not doing to plan is not having the full quota of HEs. Strictly speaking you shouldn't have two halves of a HEA as you're doing with the cheese and milk. May I suggest that for one week, you have 2 full HEAs and your recommended 2 HEBs.

Please don't panic and think this will make you gain weight. The plans are nutritionally sound and worked out on the assumption that you will have them as recommended.

You say that you have MullerLights regularly throughout the day. Although they are classed as free food, I think having more than say 2 a day is a little excessive. Try to have fruit occasionally, instead of yet more Mullers.

Do try to up your water intake - especially with your level of activity (wow, you put me to shame).

Hope this has helped. Don't worry too much - as long as you're having enough good, healthy food, your body will process it and the weight will start to move again. You didn't say whether your inches have gone down, but I bet my last pound they have :D

Thanks Consultant, I will now take my full dose of HE's as prescribed. I have got some bottled water in, 2L per day to have extra. I will stick to 2 mullers per day (lunch and tea). I will also pick and freeze blackberries in august, I can't believe how much berries cost even in Lidl!

I have never measured myself to be honest. I don't have a tape measure that isn't metal or laser. General shape is good though and I get regular comments from people like "whats happened to you, your wasting away man?". Remember girls its ok for us blokes to be complementary of each other (in a manly type way he says in a gruff voice) its just wives where we have to be unobservant :rotfl: Asbestos gear on, who's gonna bite.....

I'm gonna do an EE day today as I have roast chicken prepared in the oven with new potatoes.
