Yes there is an extra lean mince that has just 5% Fat. In Sainsburys its Be Good to Yourself range. Other stores just have the "Extra Lean Mince" Its normally a little more expensive though.

Thanks a lot dini, I'll trot off to Sainsburys tomorrow. I thought there must be one lower!

    Hey everyone.

this will sound so pathetic but I am chuffed - MY FIRST 100% SW DAY IN WEEKS!!!! I got into a chocolate habit over Easter which I am just breaking out of - and also got used to snacking on stuff at night. BUT today has been a really good day. Going to have a cup of tea and watch a film - and my trusty Muller lights are waiting for me in the fridge if needed.

    :D

I am going to have to make myself stick to the plan like glue and write everything down that I eat next week & am also gonna have to make myself better more filling lunches for work but am having a lack of imagination on that front.

MY FIRST 100% SW DAY IN WEEKS!!!!
Well done! - see, its never to late to start again. Before you know it you will have hit another target.

Ive just been out to dinner with work. I had just 1/2 sin before got there , and free food the rest of the day in anticipation of badness. Had a wholemeal roll but didnt have the butter, tandoori chicken starter, which was sitting in a pool of yogurt, and a barb-q spatchcock chicken with veg. I asked them not to drizzle butter over the veg, and have to say, dinner was lovely. I declined dessert and the sweet waiter offered to get me a fruit salad. (As opposed to cheesecake or mousse)
    I was full anyway!
I doubt that I have used my sins, but just in case, I am assuming I have! (although to be fair its 10.30 now and a little late to be eating!- and I'm not actually hungry.)
The last time I did this, it took a few weeks for me not to be completely obsessed with what I can eat next.
This time, I seem to be getting into that mindset a little easier.

    Hello everyone.

I was here a while ago, around 3 months ago in fact. By my own admission, I did really well on SW and it became my routine. I don't have a lot of weight to loose (or rather...didn't) but I enjoyed eating healthily and loosing a couple of pounds. People said I was 'glowing'.

Unfortunately then for my weightloss I started going out with someone. He is lean, rarely eats home cooking and has got me hooked on chocolate. I can no longer use the excuse that my exams are making me eat badly and I will fix it once my exams are over, the time has come to do something about it now.

When I lived on my own, it was fairly easy. I bought my own shopping and only had to concern myself with what I was going to eat, and didn't keep anything bad in the house. Now... I have temptation staring me in the face from all angles (have told bf all chocolate and crisps must go from my flat.. but they are only going to get moved to his) and I am going to be needing this place to keep me on the straight and narrow!!

I am determined to do this though as I really am appalled at how out of shape I have got in such a short space of time. The problems are fairly simple though
    • I struggle to keep fresh food in as if I leave it in one place, guaranteed I will be living in the other for the next week and it will go mouldy
    • Dividing my time between two places means I can't measure out my milk unless I put it into a water bottle and carry it around with me, which is fairly impractical
    • No cooking utensils at my bfs makes it very hard to cook.

Sorry for such a long post, had to get it off my chest.

Damm those men with bad diets that stay skinny. (Although he's probably got fat inside that you cant see)

Anyway, try to only buy a days worth of food at a time if possible. Freeze bread. Still nice toasted. Stick a jug in his fridge for the milk. (how much tea/coffee do you drink? Change to skimmed if you dont already do that, it increases your allowance so easier to keep tabs on)
If hes eating chocolate, well have some, but count it as syns.
Teach him to cook! (at your place!)
And try to get him to understand that you need to eat healthily for yourself. And that you cant afford to replace your entire wardrobe of clothes.

  • WI today, managed to lose 3lb somehow which I'm amazed by as we had visitors over the weekend who tempted me with a gorgeous coffee cake, and then ds birthday on Monday for which I have managed to have just the tiniest sliver of chocolate fudge cake. It's been calling to me from the kitchen ever since though . . . must resist . . . must resist . . . must resist . . .

I was really cheesed off last night, I put on a pound and I truly didn't deserve it, I was so upset that when it was my turn to talk I actually cried!!

I am having my 3rd period since the 13th of April, and my implanon is being changed tomorrow, I m just worried sick that if my weight loss has plateau'd with 4 stone still to go then having the implanon tomorrow will make things worse, I've lost over 3 stone and really don't want it to start creeping back on, I might just look into sterilisation, I pumped Depo-Provera into my body for 6 years, and have had the implanon for 6 years, all these artificial hormones can't be good.........if I don't show a loss next week I am going to start removing limbs......

Hi wannabedebt free, I just want to try and help... unfortunately these things DO make a difference. Hormone drugs most definately slow weight loss - my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago and is on tamoxifin, she now finds it very hard to lose weight. Also, I always find at my 'time of the month' I'm always heavier.
Try and stay positive, and at least you don't have yourself to blame for this, so hopefully it'll be easier to stay focused!!

I did my first slimming world shop for AGES last night, I forgot how expensive it can all be :( maybe we could all share tips that help the waist and the purse?? Also, my bf passed his driving theory this morning and he wants to celebrate, any ideas that will keep me within sw, and not cost alot of money?

I wouldn't ever recommend anyone have an Implanon implant. I had one and it caused me nothing but problems. I piled tons of weight on, developed a horendous facial and body hair problem, my acne became 10 times worse than it had been - it made me really hate myself.
Before I got the implant, I had read on the internet that if you are overweight, the Implanon 'wears out' early. Nurse who assessed me for the Implanon said it isn't true, but I bled constantly after the implant had been on for so long.

Once you get the implant out, you will notice a difference straight away.
It has been discussed on another topic on this forum and - have a read, it's not just you!

You are not alone, but talk to your doctor, see if there is something else they can give you with less side efects and keep your chin up. It is hard, but it will get better, I promise! x
