Hi all
First weigh in - lost 5.5 lbs weyayhay......how did that happen????????
Hope I can keep this going - not been hungry, but I'm another one that can't get the hex a & b right. I have fruit for brekkie and black coffee, cos, I can't risk using the milk with weetabix in case I want to use it later. Then it doesn't happen. How do you folks work it out in advance ??????????
Seems to be easier on green days and use the meat/fish as a hex - like the idea of using 2 hex of the same thing (and doubling the amount of milk/cheese/meat).
I am just worried that if I miss out on using the hex allowances now and the loss slows up, I have nothing left to cut out.
All ideas gratefully received as they say

Slimming World recommends breast-feeding mums consume a varied, healthy diet to supply all the extra nutrients needed and advise that they make healthy food choices rather than increasing their intake of fatty foods to supply the additional energy.
We recommend that members following the Food Optimising system whilst breast-feeding increase their daily number of Healthy Extras and in particular increase their Healthy Extra milk and cheese choices to ensure an adequate calcium intake.
She can enjoy additional Healthy Extras on top of the usual 2a and 2b choices. We recommend that one or preferably two of these additional choices are made from the milk and cheese section when following Green or Original. If you are following Extra Easy we recommend two or preferably three of these additional choices from the milk and cheese section.
Baby’s age:
Up to 2 months……………….3
2-3- months…………………..4
4-6 months if starting to wean……….3
4-6 months if not weaning……………4
Over 6 months when weaning………..1
We also recommend she enjoys the full 15 Syns a day.
Calcium
The recommended daily intake of calcium increases from 700mg to 1,250mg per day which is why we advise breast-feeding mums make at least one and preferably two of their additional selections from the Healthy Extra milk and cheese options, which are rich in calcium. (Calcium advice for the Republic or Ireland: requirement of 800mg increases to 1,200mg whilst breastfeeding.)
The calcium tables below show good sources of calcium, which breast-feeding mums can use to ensure they get the recommended daily intake.Calcium rich Healthy Extras
Milk and cheese selections in the Healthy Extras section of the Food Optimising system all contain high levels of calcium. The exact amounts are as follows:
350ml skimmed milk 420mg
250ml semi-skimmed milk 300mg
175ml whole milk 200mg
200ml goat's milk 200mg
250ml sweetened calcium enriched soya milk 420mg
28g Cheddar 200mg
28g Edam 220mg
28g Emmental 270mg
28g Gouda 210mg
28g Gruyere 270mg
28g Parmesan 290mg
42g Mozzarella 150mg
42g reduced fat Cheddar 350mg
42g reduced fat Cheshire 270mgCalcium rich Free Foods
There are also a number of Free Foods within the Food Optimising system which contain calicum. These include:
100g fat free natural/flavoured yogurt 160mg
100g fat free natural/flavoured fromage frais 130mg
100g quark 120mg
100g very low fat cottage cheese 120mg
100g sardines, canned in tomato sauce 430mg

@Shepherdgirl
Most people measure their milk out. (pour it into a measuring jug) and keep it separate. I dont drink tea or coffee, so its not a problem for me. But I have to remember to then have cheese or something later.
2 as and 2 bs mean there should be ample opportunity to have your teas and coffees. Measure out a jug of water with the allowance so you can see exactly how much it is.
When the weight slows down, as far as I know they dont suggest you cut out HEs at all. You need them for the calcium and fibre part of the diet anyway, to make sure its balanced.
I'm sure Consultant31 will be able to confirm or not.
And well done on your weight loss!:TLight Bulb Moment: Feb 2007

Hello all, I re-joined SW tonight and it was brilliant. I really have that feeling that this is the heaviest I'll ever be. Luckily my consultant recognised me straight away from last time so we had a good catch up first and as there were a few newbies she went through everything. I now find this extra-easy much easier to understand... my only thing is that I was so used to eating green days previously I may struggle to find things with the meat invloved too, and the super-free foods to make up half the plate!! Although I seem to understand that if you were to have something like spaghetti and meatballs (homemade of course) intead of having your sf foods with that I could have snacked on lots of fruit and veg throughout the day to make up for it? I also quite like only having one of the HE as I used to have trouble using both of them up sometimes, and it's less measuring!!!
Well done everyone on keeping motivated, it's helping me!!Joined Slimming World 19th May 2009

Welcome to everyone who's just getting going on SW. I'm doing Extra Easy, not by going to class, but with the support of people on here. It's the easiest plan I've ever followed, and it works if you stick to it.
Well done to losers and STSers!0 -
