I have just checked mine in the fridge and they say suitable for vegetarians on the side:D

ETA: My friend is vegetarian and has lost over 6st on SW, sticking with Green days (obviously:)) Good Luck.

Thank you very much for looking for me, will add them to the list. Well Done to your friend, that's incredible! :T
  • diet plans are never geared to vegetarians, First, it says that 'very low fat' natural yoghurt is free - how do I know which are counted as very low fat? My friend said Muller Light do, but they're not vegetarian Lauren

Hi Lauren and welcome, everyone's very friendly here! I'm also vegetarian and have no problem following the SW eating plan, I just stick to "green" days all the time. Luckily quorn, soya and tofu are all "free" foods so you shouldn't be hungry at all. In terms of veggie yoghurts, the Asda very low fat ones (they are in a similar shaped tub to the Muller ones) are syn-free. They're thinner than the Muller ones but that's the only real difference as far as I can see. Once you've joined you should get the password for the SW web site and it's a lot easier then to just stick the info in to the syncalculator - if you log into the Asda website you can even look at the labels as you do a "virtual" shop, stick the info into the syn calculator and check it before you buy. (I tend to then cancel the shop and add the product to my shopping list for whenever I get to the shops myself - SW and MSE all at the same time!). HTH

In terms of flavoured yoghurts, yes Mullerlights are free....but so are Danone shape (the fuller for longer ones) and I have just checked mine in the fridge and they say suitable for vegetarians on the side:D

Sorry no help here, my belly probably sticks out further than my 'spaniel ears'.....

My only suggestion is sports shops? OR you could always ask my friend Google:D

    Mel x

Nah, I'm too much of a fat bird for sports shops! I had googled and found a couple but I prefer personal recommendations when it comes to bolster holders - the last thing I need is to spend £40 ish on a bra where everything comes flying out at the first jump in the air (plus I'd be sued for the resultant black eyes/broken shoulders on anyone standing within five feet!) Hi everyone!

I'd like to join in this thread if thats OK?

I joined slimmingworld last year & lost 1st 9.5lb to get to my target, just before xmas. Since then I struggled to keep at target & just drifted out of going to class & haven't been back since end of March. I do get weighed at home & try to half-heartedly follow the plan. I'm half a stone over my target now.

I'm going on holiday in a weeks time, & I've decided I will start to go back to class after that.

I've been reading this thread for a few weeks now & find all the tips & ideas really helpful. Hopefully joining in will help keep me on track!

To the lady who needs a good sports bra - you just cant beat shock absorber. They do a range for larger sizes (I'm an E sometimes F). After trying sports bras from matalan, asda etc for about £5 & were useless, I decided to spend a bit more & get something decent. I got mine from ebay & think I paid about £15-20. It's impact level 4 & they don't move but it's still comfy!

Hi all, I'd like to join this group. I was a member of slimming world a few years ago, infact I've been back and forth a few times. Originally I lost over 1st and although wasn't at my target was very happy with my weight and managed to maintain it for some time. I then got into an unheathly lifestyle at Uni, and then got really ill and again couldn't stick to it.

I have had my wake-up call as am currently the heaviest I have ever been and am VERY unhappy about it. When I first started I was living at home and actually found it hard as although my mum was a member too, my dad did alot of the cooking and he's one of these 'I don't believe in diets' types. Even though he could do with shifting some weight too!! Anyway I am now living with my partner and alhtough he also prefers just 'eating healthily and exercising' I sat him down this week and we have agreed I'm going to start back again.

At first I've been thinking of just following the diet myself, but I worry this isn't enough... I really should go back to the groups and am hoping to next week!! I am going to try and meal plan until then the slimming world way, just to get my head back around it all.

Any tips for someone returning after some time would be greatly appreciated. I am worried as I know that this diet works best the first time you do it, but I'm hoping that with REAL will-power I can do it, and hopefully some exercise this time too!!

Just for people that are worrying about the cost of SW - if you have a reasonable amount of weight to lose then if you go to your docs they may be able to refer you to SW and then they give you 12 weeks of vouchers at a time for nothing. The only restriction I can see is that you have to have not been a member for 12 weeks before you use the vouchers. I don't know how strict they are on this as we have just got our vouchers and we are members already - don't know if we'll be able to use them. If our consultant says no then we will not go for 12 weeks and then use them!!! It will save us a fortune. Hope that helps someone.

Evening - haven;'t posted for a couple of days - been super busy TGIF!

So the recipe for pea ham and mushroom sauce I mentioned:

Saute 170g sliced mushrooms with 2 crushed cloves of garlic in Fry light for 4-5 mins.
Add 142ml chicken stock (from bovril) and 140g frozen peas. Bring to boil and then simmer 3-4 mins.
Stir in 113g lean ham (shredded), 6 tbsp VLF quark, a small handful of chopped chives unitl well combined. Mix 2 level tsp cornflour with 2 tbsp water until a smoot paste and then add to the sauce. heat gently, stirring until thickened.
Season well and serve. Lovely with pasta or spooned over chicken or pork.

Serves 4, 2 syns per serving original, 2.5 syns per serving on green.

  • No one else is built like Dolly Parton then? Oh well, will just have to take up my other half's offer to come along and hold them for me :)

That sounds like the kind of thing my other half would say to me!!!

M&S do some good sports bras, all different types for different sports, low, medium and high impact. They go right up to a H cup in some styles.

    HTH!
