Hi all, I've just started the SW diet this morning. I've just bought books - I really don't want to go to weekly meetings, as they're expensive, and I think I'd be better off going to the gym instead. I'm planning to weigh once a week with a friend on the posh gym weighing machine instead.

I'm doing the extra easy plan. Someone said that if it's under 5 syns you could substitute your healthy B extra, so had one slice of white toast, which was 4.5 syns, as I don't ike brown bread, but now I'm not sure if that's right?
I'm also stuck with what to have for lunch in work - I had an exam yesterday and went out last night, so didn't prepare anything for food.

It's in the main leaflet things you get when you join - I had to ask the person I got it from to look it up.

Whisky is 2.5 syns per 25ml measure.

WI yesterday - lost 0.50lb. Pleased with this, after horrible week, where I've been as good as I could be in the circumstances. :T

One or two social functions this week too, which I will attempt to flexi-syn (if that's the right term?)

I have managed to obtain the 2009 Directory which is fine for most stuff, except I can't seem to find syns for just bog standard spirits (priorities!). Can anyone give me a clue, either where to find it in the book, or what the value for say, gin and scotch, are?

    Thanks, in anticipation!

Basic spirits and general values are in the middle of your Food Optimising book (half red, half green) - should have everything you need!

While I'm here, can anyone PM me the password for this week please? The password I had that I thought was new last week has expired and I'm locked out!
    Thanks guys! x

    Hi,

I have just started slimming world again, but by myself rather than going to the classes. I told myself I would see how I got on for 2 weeks without the class and see. I managed to lose 4lb so am going to stick at it!!

Anyhow, as I don't have the password for the website I wondered if someone would be kind enough to look up some thing for me? I was going to have Asda lincolnshire pork style meat free sausage mix (dry) on a green day. The pack is 150mg. Can anyone tell me the syn value please?

Thank you so much. Good luck all. I will be checking in now! :T

You really can't substitute just anything old thing for a HEB.

HEbs are there to provide you with the necessarey fibre for a day and that's why white bread doesn't cut it I'm afraid! Look in your Food Optimising book for the list of HEBs and newly added ones will be on the SW website.

Your white bread would have to be synned at 3½ syns per 28 gms.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and say hello:j

I've been attending SW classes since the middle of January following the Extra Easy plan. So far I've managed to lost 2 st 5lbs - I've another 10lbs until I reach my goal weight.

I've only just found this thread and think its absolutely fab..... loads of recipe ideas and its so nice to read other peoples journeys too - it will certainly keep me motivated.

I look forward to reading lots more :o)

Can someone in the know advise me please?

As some of you may know I have not gelled with my original SW consulatant and left her group this monday to transfer to my local group (tues meeting). However, my grandfather passed away monday, and the funeral is going to be weds next week. We will have family staying with us tues night.

I am unsure what to do about transfering to this new SW class on Tues. It is going to be awkward for me to go for the meeting, I could just pop up for WI, but I wanted to have chat with new consultant, and can't really spare the time.

Should I ring new consultant and explain if I can get her no from SW website? I don't want to take holiday as I had one week before last. I don't really want to have to pay for missing week either.

    TIA

Welcome Scotty - That is a fantastic loss:D Have you stuck to EE for the entire time you have been a member? What Healthy extras do you usually go for, just curious as I struggle with only being able to have 1 of each.
