Just off the top of my head, the B choices on green days could be mainly meat, cheese or fish and there's also nuts and seeds in there, all gluten free.
On Red days a lot of the B choices are pulses, so no gluten there or potatoes and parsnips as well.
HE Bs that are common to both days and are gluten free include stewed and dried fruits, some Baxters soups. Can you tolerate oats (which are lower gluten than wheat) if so porridge may be an option for you too?

Thanks for the reply, i found a list of HE's on the website and it included some gluten free things so feel a bit more possitive.

With regards to oats, i am still not 100% free of gluten although am about 98% so i don't want to try oats yet, because i won't know for certain if i can tolerate them.

Looking forward to keeping up with this thread.

    Hi all

    Another newbie here.

Joined SW this week after trying to go it alone. Did lose some weight, (I need to lose loads ) but then kept taking off and regaining the same 2 kilos every week. :o

Trying to get my head round the reds, greens and syns

Silly question ....... When a food is listed per 100g (just as an example) free on green but say 2 syns on red, what happens about the free bit if you have say 200g. (I presume you multiply the syns to the amount you eat).

    Many thanks in adance and

    Looking forward to reading more

I'm quite new as well but i'm pretty sure that if it say's it is free on green, then you can eat as much as you want (so 200g would still be free). If it is 2 syns per 100g on red then 200g would be 4 syns etc etc

As fuzzybear says, if something is synned at 2 syns per 100g then if you have 200g it would be 4syns and so on.....the same applies to if you only have 50g, this would then be 1syn:) HTH

I have an apple, rasberry and strawberry will give them a miss though! I'm struggling for free snacky things on a green day. I work shifts and when I get in a 10pm I like a bit of something to eat....any ideas??

Hello Dixie, if you want a change from Marion's breakfast rice you could make up (in advance!) a sugar free jelly and either add frozen fruit to it or whisk in a complementing flavour yoghurt; it is negligible syns for a big helping.

Or, if you like ScanBrans (ryvita thingies), quark and marmite, all acquired tastes I agree, you can mix marmite into the quark and spread it onto a ScanBran which counts as a healthy extra B. You could add some beetroot or spring onion or cucumber too, as much as you can pile on. Tasty, sinfree and you will feel sooooo virtuous!:D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Hi to everyone, it is my first time here so please don't be too hard on me. Half way to target at the moment, Total loss so far 1st 7lb

I have my weigh in tonight and really worried as I have gained a half pound on each of the last 2 weeks.

I was thinking I would reverse the trend this week and lose but scales show that I probably will not get a loss this week either. ( I know I should not use the scales during the week)

Apart from not eating until weigh in! - any idea what would help?

WI today and lost 1lb, which was a surprise as I thought I hadn't lost anything . . . Frogletina if you look through your book it'll have some of the free foods marked SS (for super slimming) and filling up on those is supposed to help get things moving. A few people have said drink lots of water, at least 2 litres a day (not all at once though!).

    HTH

While I think about it (boys, look away now) does anyone know of a good sports/supportive bra for us larger ladies? I'm having to hold them down at certain points during my exercise DVDs which isn't too bad whilst I'm doing the DVDs at home but I'm hoping to go to some classes and my technique might raise a few eyebrows!

WI yesterday - lost 0.50lb. Pleased with this, after horrible week, where I've been as good as I could be in the circumstances. :T

One or two social functions this week too, which I will attempt to flexi-syn (if that's the right term?)

I have managed to obtain the 2009 Directory which is fine for most stuff, except I can't seem to find syns for just bog standard spirits (priorities!). Can anyone give me a clue, either where to find it in the book, or what the value for say, gin and scotch, are?

    Thanks, in anticipation!
