Its interesting this because when you reach target weight what do you do? If you come off the diet, your weight goes up and you are off target. I reckon we will always have to be on the diet for most days but have more days off thus staying the same. I think I will set an upper threshold over which its back to green day/red day. Under this weight I will do EE on weekdays and blow out at the weekends. I'll have to see what happens. EE is not far from normal sensible eating anyway. On green/red i'm looking forward to that :-)
PeteThank you so much for this Angie, I can totally relate to the first part of your post and I'm hoping that I'll also get that 'lightbulb' moment when I just know the times right. I'm 5lbs away from my 'magic number' and I'm hoping that will coincide with the 'lightbulb' moment!but what if it doesn't

IMHO The first thing you should do when getting to target is not to stop going to class each week - by weighing in weekly (for free!) it keeps me on the straight and nrrow.
The official line is that i you follow red/green days, then you could add a HE. You shouldn't add syns lol! Indeed - I stick to my limit of 15 each day (except one weekend night) and this is fine with me.
What I tend to do is follow EE - for me this adds a HE compared to R/G, and maintains my weight nicely. I have one night at the weekend with a few extra treats (a few though - not too many! It can be a tricky balance), and if I decide that I need to go lower in my target range, I do R/G again to lose a lb or so.
I have been within my target zone for 2 months 2 weeks now, and I am still learning, in some ways maintaining is trickier than losing- but I am not going to let the weight back on

You dont have days off, you add HEs in gradually and when you see it creeping up you cut back, you need to find the right amount of HE, so its trial and error for a while. The syns need to stay between 5 and 15 still. And its really important to go to group each week and stay, at the very least its a good idea to go fortnightly until you have tweaked those HE. Ive seen so many people get to target, stop going, and then months later they are back to lose what they have gained. Been there, done that, got the tshirt! It was slightly different for me, as my consultant had all but given up and used to let one of the other members do the group cos she couldnt be bothered, which had the knock on effect of making me not care anymore. I gradually gained all I had lost and a half stone on top(this time I dont rely on my consultant to keep me on track, its all down to me lol).

I had WI tonight and I lost 2lbs :j
But I've decided I don't like my class/leader. No-one there is very welcoming, they all know each locally (I don't live in that town, it's where I work), they are all at least 20years older than me, and the consultant is not at all supportive.
Last we'ek I had to WI elsewhere, and I gained my half stone award. I text her to let her know how I got on (as we agreed) and all I got back was "ok". No congats/well one/that's great. Not at all motivational.
I thing I'm going to transfer to another class.

I hear what you're saying but maybe some people won't know when to stop. I could have called time at 3.5stone loss because I felt so much healthier than when I started but I've kept going because it wasn't a 'healthy' weight, and I'm glad I did because I feel even better now, so how do you know when it's enough. The charts give such a wide range. I'm probably fussing about nothing but I'd be interested to hear consultant31s point of view.
I always think if you aim for the middle of the range you won't go far wrong. I use the chart in the Choose Success booklet (or FO book if you have the older pack).
If you try for a very low target it can be terribly hard to maintain and often is the cause of people giving up and regaining their weight. If you're happy with a higher target, that's fine - you may find you want the extra half stone or so off at a later date.
There is no rigid right or wrong here, it's really down to what you feel comfortable at. I always tell my members that when they look in the mirror one day and think "gosh, I look fab" then that's the time to stop! (See Angie's post, lunch-time today).
As a Consultant I once turned a member away who insisted that she wanted to be a stone under the recommended 'lowest acceptable weight'. It's unhealthy and neither I nor SW will help someone who wants to be under-weight!
Hope that helps.
peteyboy - you are calling this a diet and that's where you're going wrong. This is not a diet, it's a healthy eating regime which is meant to be for life, so there should be no 'coming off' it, therefore, there should (in theory) be no weight gain. If you keep on eating the SW way, your weight should remain stable for the rest of your life.
janiebaby - I'm sure the Consultant won't mind changing the duplicate book as long as it goes back to her in a 'new' condition.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I had WI & stayed the same....didnt hold out much hope of a loss cos of star week & chocolate cravings but I really wanted my stone award!!
Maybe next week, going out for chinese on sat nihgt for 2 friends birthdays but think I might just hav no starters, boiled rice & a low dish, the feeling of getting to my stone will be better than that of eating chinese food!! I've decided but remind me I said this on the weekend please!! hehe0 -

Thanks for that Consultant31, to be honest I chose my 'magic number' by working out what I'd weigh if I'd lost 33% of my starting weight. I've had lots of mini targets along the way e:g. getting back into my wedding dress, Xlbs by birthday, going down a size, xlbs by summer, going down next size, xlbs by christmas etc. But my ultimate target seemed to be a long way off, now that I'm getting close I'm questioning it and wondering if it'll be 'right' for me personally, thanks for all your comments though it's interesting to hear what you all think. When Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0 -

Well done flutterby. Sounds like you could probably find a more suitable class for you, maybe in your hometown?
princess kate, next week hopefully you'll get your award - I know what you mean about choccy and hormones though.
I tried one of the recipes from the website tonight - green thai curry soup - very tasty filling. I added noodles to it for my DH but I just had chicken and vega as i'm on a red day today.
WI first thing for me tomorrow!Saving to pay the tax man0
