Oh good, cos eating plenty is something I excell in:rotfl: :rotfl:

Willpower has cracked and I have been looking on ebay for the books and stuff. More expensive I know but you guys have fired up my enthusiasm. I can only hope that my willpower is stronger when it comes to food:eek:

You can't get to a class at all to get all the stuff 'officially' and a talk as well where you can ask questions personal to your own needs???

Oh well :o Glad you are fired up :j If you are buying from ebay, the only thing you 'need' is the handbook, currently the details of EE are as a separate (very slim) handout. Everything else is frippery, lovely, but frippery

    Here goes!

On EE you need 2 HE choices. I can see toast, have you used the other as milk, or are you an HE short?

Breakfast and tea look good :D

I have some concerns about lunch, especially the syns - the barms (which I understand to be white bread rolls about 4" diameter, correct me if I am wrong) are going to be AT LEAST 6 syns each. If not more :( A 3" dia wholemeal bread roll is 6 syns.
Packets of baked crisps (like the very small bags of baked wotsits) are 5.5 syns each, so anything else is likely to be higher.
If these were made by someone else, was there any spread or butter?

Lunch is an area many people find tricky, especially if out and about. We can suggest ideas if you need them :)

Hi, I have just found this thread and would like to join you please?

I have loads of weight to lose - about 70 lbs (and that's a conservative goal) and it seems really daunting - to the point where I am seriously considering gastric banding but the idea of that scares me stiff

Hello and welcome!! Not that I'm biased (:o ) but I really think SW is a much more fulfilling way to lose weight than a gastric band - and more fun! I know people who've had the band and find it miserable, hardly able to eat anything so it's the sticky sweet things they crave and manage to eat, which doesn't shift the pounds. Whereas on SW I'm happily munching my way through life and down 76 pounds. You'll be required to lose 10% of your body weight prior to gastric band surgery anyway, so I reckon give SW a go first. But hey - I AM biased :p

    Hello

First day of a new life today and the food looks like this:

    GREEN DAY

    Breakfast:

Beans, tomato and onion on 1 slice WM bread (1HEb), 1/3 tbsp oil (1/3 HEb)
Berries with 100g whole milk yogurt (1/2 syn)

    Lunch:

Pasta with garlic, onion, parsley (fried in 1/3 tbsp oil - 1/3 HEb), 1 oz grated cheddar (1HEa), mixed salad with 1/3 tbsp oil (1/3 HEb), grapes

    Dinner:

Mixed root veg casserole with 1 tsp oil (2 syns), 1 tofu sausage (2 syns). Quinoa.
Mix fruit salad with 2 tbsps single cream (3 syns)

Total syns: 7 1/2. Can't complain for a first day!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Hello everyone - Day 2 on SW EE and I've really enjoyed my food today!

Breakfast was Marion's breakfast rice (just had half, saved rest for some supper)
Lunch was stir fry veg with turkey breast and noodles
Dinner was huge salad with baby spinach leaves instead of lettuce with chicken thigh fillets cooked in non-stick pan with Schwartz chicken seasoning, cottage cheese and small jacket potato, followed by a mandarin mullerlight
Snacks have been plums, 4 crackerbread (4 syns) 1tbs of Sainsburys BGTY celery and cheese spread (couldn't find on syns online so guessing 3) 2 mini cocktail sausages (3)
HEA was milk and haven't manage to fit in a HEB!

I have just done a food diary on excel - quite simple but easier to fit a whole days food in than the Slimming World one IMO. If anyone wants me to send them one to print off just pm me with your e-mail address (or pm me and I will send you my e-mail address first so you know I'm not some mad spammer) and I will send it back as an attachment.

The baked bean lasagne sounds lovely!
