Glad that you are a bit better and well done in sticking to it. I think that everyone who has persevered with doing this for a long time deserves a big:T

    Thanks :)
I know it should be a way of life for me as i feel so much better on it but sometimes the force of the carbs is strong ;):D

<hugs Mercy> Oh you poor thing. I haven't seen you so upset. I don't know what to add to what others have said on the eating front.. though I just found this link which may be helpful..
For me I think adding exercise has helped. The 'slow' exercise I did for quite long time (Callanetics and Yoga) helped me tighten up - and loosen up :p - and made me feel better; and the cardio-type exercise I started doing more recently has helped with the weight loss I think.. I think it may also play a part in controlling my appetite too.. don't seem to feel the need to eat too much or keep munching lately... Even 10 or 20 minutes exercise 3 times a week may help, and would no doubt be beneficial.. (anything really, but something that gets you out of breath/makes you 'glow' ;) should help with weight loss..)..

Anyway, before I do what I did yesterday morning:

B: Forgot, so had an Atkins daybreak bar at w*rk (2.1g)

    L: Prawn cocktail :p (~4g)
    T: A bowl of [STRIKE]soup[/STRIKE] .. [STRIKE]bolog[/STRIKE]
.. chilli thing that OH made. Very [STRIKE]sloppy[/STRIKE] runny, but rather nice. (~ 16..?*)

    O: Tea, coffee, 4 pints water/green tea+lemon, s/f gum, few cubes of Mu cheese, ~3 Brazil nuts (2.9g/100g) (~3g)

    Total carbs: ~25g..?

*It had a tin of baked beans in it, something I started doing years ago, since I don't like kidney beans. Baked beans: 30.7g carbs for half tin  [STRIKE]We ate it all between the 4 of us[/STRIKE]
. They had rice. OH had seconds. I had a bowl full of the chilli, so with the veg. and stuff it must've been [STRIKE]at least[/STRIKE] about 15g.. [STRIKE]probably more like 20...[/STRIKE]

    Exercise: N/A

EDIT: Just found a large marge. pot full of chilli at back of fridge, so will edit my numbers slightly.

Know how you feel mercy, sometimes i eat cr*p and dont gain but go strictly lc and dont lose, and i often think whats the point, but as you said, i feel better on lc so is worth the effort.

Sheila, the fibre is already deducted on UK foods, its USA where they have to deduct for the net carbs.

Thanks for that, I will have to cut back more and see if the weight loss gets better. I have a Gem Carb counter. The readings show gross and net carbs so which do I use?

Mercy and Mazzers, are you feeling any brighter today? Surely having the odd blip can't hurt sometimes as none of us is perfect!!

hannoja - well done with the exercise and keeping to 25g, I try to keep to 40 and find it difficult some days.

    Have a good day everyone!

mercy big (((hugs))) its disheartening to put everything into something and get nothing in return , keep going , you are one of the stalwarts on here and have helped us all so much. its natural to waver when things arnt going as you would expect. be strong , as others have said it makes you feel better when lcarbing . make sure you are kind to yourself , give yourself a treat , brush yourself down and climb right back on the lc band wagon we are all here for you xx

all that said i could spit as ive gained 1.2lbs this week , with no reasoning behind it . i have stopped having s f sweets and am sticking to a couple of 81% squares of chocolate instead ( i am eating a few more brazil nuts though) oh well , i may try increasing my exercise ( increasing lol who am i kidding i dont do any exercise at all) i may start exercising ... a bit

mazzers glad you are feeling a bit better about things , i bet its all down to the fab preparations you have done :T

hannoja where do you get your atkins bars from? i get mine from b00ts but they are expensive

going out for a carvery today , i may add a roast potato just to mix things up a bit ;)

    Hi all!

I am feeling much less 'tired and emotional' this morning.

Today is a new day with new challenges to which I shall rise :j:rotfl:

Making beef madras later but as I'm using braising steak I need to get the meat on soon to cook properly.

Thanks for kindness, I'm much my positive self again:)

I'm on day 7 so had my first weigh-in today, I've lost 3lb. I'm pleased, that is a good start although I'm slightly disappointed as it was more last time I did induction. The loss is helping to keep me focused over the next week. This morning I started the day with fresh eggs and bacon, beautiful! My friend has chickens and supplied Saturday laid eggs, W O W!! :-)

Caeler - WOW indeed to freshest eggs! You're lucky to have a supply. Also, don't knock the loss, it's good to be going in the right direction!

Thank you Mercy! I'm just wondering what I should have for lunch which is why I need to better plan because I'm not actually feeling hungry! Whereas if I'd planned in advance, I'd have no choice and would avoid the risk of skipping a meal! I'm thinking something with frankfurthers!

Well done caeler at you loss :T How lovely to have fresh eggs!

Mercy, glad that you are felling a bit better

sistercas - sorry about the gain but are you premenstrual and could it be fluid retention?

Very tired today after a hectic weekend with very little sleep

Breakfast - scrambled egg, rasher bacon, sausage and tbp mushrooms + 1 ryvita (10carbs)

Lunch - can't be bothered - handful nuts (3 carbs)

Hmm.. i checked out the carb count on Sains basic peanut butter on the site and its 12g per 100g, did you look at the wrong part minihauk?
For anyone who wants to make their own have a look at this
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTc26dqoaW0

No, I am sure - I wish I knew how to post a photo coz then I could show you:
per 100g: Energy 606kcal; protein 23.6g; carb 3.9g of which sugars 1.9g; fat 51.5g; fibre 16.2g; salt 0.95g. It then goes on to give per tablesdpoon (20g) carb 0.8g.
I think it is new stock in a plastic jar.
I bought 3 jars and they all say the same .......

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'm eating enough fat. I'm torn between trying to eat more as recommended, or less as per Dukan. I suppose if shape changes and it comes off slowly I shouldn't worry too much.

Mercy - glad you are feeling a bit better. It can be so disheartening.

Hannoja - well done with the exercise. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and struggle to exercise. You are doing really well.

caeler - well done, 3lbs is a good loss.

Hope everyone else is ok and having a good lc day.
