    Hiya

I pigged out last night on peanut butter. better than choc or crisps so not complaining. and in my defence i was starving. I think it was because my sausages were quite high carb and i didnt have any fat with my tea so not full enough. Will have to watch that as evenings are bad enough trying to resist without actually being hungry!

    anyway, today

    b - hot dog, toms, egg - 2.5 carbs
    l - cheese and ham salad - 4 carbs
t - cauli base pizza - dont know, dont care, will be less than a real pizza base so cant be too bad! :rotfl:

Might even give zumba a miss today, ached so much yesterday and have done 4 days of it this week. should ease myself in gently!!! :p

  • I've been looking at buying larger quantities of ground almonds, rather than the 200g bags from Sainsbury's that I use rather quickly, and not very MSE.:money:

What I'm learning is that they all seem to have different carb contents, ranging from 29g per 100g, to 6.5g (on the sainsbury's ones) per 100g.

I've had an email back from one of the suppliers saying that the lower carb ones are 'de-fatted,' but I've since learned that these may not have the same nutritional qualities of the 'normal' ones.

My nutrition data says that blanched almonds are, carbs 20g per 100g - 'whole foods online,' tell me theirs is 22.22g (god knows how it's higher!)

Does anyone buy these in bigger quantities that state a low carb content?

SHEILA54, can you advise on your mousse recipe whether you should let the choccy mix cool? I tried it last week but thirded the recipe as I didn't have enough choc in the house and it kind of curdled on me when I added the yolk...any ideas? I was thinking about tryingit with a little sweetener as I find the choc a wee bit bitter, have you tried this?

Mazzers thanks for the lasagne recipe info. I got back from the supermarket last night and couldn't be bothered making the lasagne so I ended up with bolognaise over a pile of broccoli and brussel sprouts...suprisingly tasty! But now I have a pack of courgette that I have no idea what to do with as they are not something I cook with often/ever.

I also bought some granulated splenda last night as I am thinking of making myself a treat this weekend of eton mess :-)

After a complete stall in week 2, I have now lost 12 pounds in less than three weeks, happy camper right now.

    Hi
I beat in one egg yolk at a time after I have taken the chocolate off the gas and it works fine.

Another good day so far, I even managed breakfast! I've never been a breakfast person but I know how important it is to kick off the metabolism so I managed eggs and backey! Lovely. I had a delicious Chicken and Bacon salad and I'm now contemplating dinner. I've also got a guest staying with my this weekend who isn't low carb but has said she could be this week if it would help. I'm just enjoying a pukka detox tea before I start cooking and planning tomorrows groceries shop.

I've found a really fab app for my iphone! It's called 'Carb Master' it is free and I can enter my meal plan for the day and it will tell me my carb count (plus calories, protein, sugars, fiber, etc)! It is really good as I've been way off counting up my carbs plus I think I've not been getting enough fat into my diet during induction. Didn't Mr Atkins recommend 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs which I'm not managing right now. Managing about 50/50 Fat to Protein.

Yes hann, it grinds flax seeds.
I use it daily, it's small and neat and hardly any washing up.
I usually just rinse the blades straight away, you drink right out of the blender cups, makes lovely smoothies out of fruit juice some yogurt, frozen or fresh fruit and some ice cubes.

Blitzes porridge oats/whole almonds into flour, grinds coffee beans, grinds cinnamon sticks to powder, whizzes lc shakes (no lumps) finely grates parmesan, makes salad dressing, blends soups... have had mine for several years and only bought extra cups and a new cross blade so far, the motor in the base is still going strong.

The genie looks identical though, and someone reviewed it as being the same thing, the attatchments even fit the bullet.

For those without an iphone, fitday.com is great for giving a breakdown of nutritional info, counts carbs, cals, protein. fats etc, even informs me i'm low on potassium (which i am) and very easy to use.

Dunno whats happening with me but i'm soo bloated, usually lc sees this off within two days, my stomach was fine this morning but is huge now and i've been very good :(

    Breakfast- small slice lc toast
    Snack mid morn- 6 almonds
Lunch- cheesy leeks and sliced ham
Dinner- lc soup/small slice lc bread and butter
Was very bloated after my soup ????
Just had a burger in a lc bun.
