Hi All,
I may or may not have joined you at some point in the last few years...but I'm lc'ing again and so far so good - can I join in?
Started Monday and really enjoying my meals at the mo - I've written a plan for the week as it helps sooooo much to be prepared!
I did cheesey leeks the other day - poached some fish in it too and added mushrooms, was totally amazing. I'm just needing something a little sweet to finish my meals..
Today is
B: 2 x chipolatas, fried mushrooms, fried egg.
L: Salmon, couple baby plum tomatoes, cucumber and orange pepper with mayoHM burger with bacon, cheese and some sort of veg.
I have SF jelly ready but it just not the same as a chocolate mousse.
I'm on Day 4 and scales are showing 3lb loss. Need that motivation at the moment - I've got about 4 stone to lose - most of which I've put on it about 18 months!!! V annoyed with myself (comfort eating) and sometimes think whats the point I might as well eat all that chocolate cos I'm never gonna lose it, which is why its only 6 weeks to my holiday and I've lost nothing.
Been reading all your posts on my phone and am very much inspired - thank you!!
Hi
This is a low carb recipe for chocolate mousse that I use
75g of high cocoa solids chocolate (70 - 85%)
25g butter
3 eggs
Melt chocolate & butter in bowl over hot water. Separate eggs and add one yolk at a time to mixture. Whisk whites to a peak and fold into chocolate mixture. Divide into 4 bowls and keep in fridge. Each portion is around 5 carbs, depending on the chocolate used and it is nice with cream and a handful of berries, if allowed.
hannoja - well done with 5lb :T
Had a busy day so didn't have time to cook much
Breakfast : 1 scrambled egg & 1 ryvita with butter - 6 carbs
Lunch - half avacado, 2 slices of cheese, cold chicken and cucumber - 5 carbs
Dinner - cold chicken, one sausage & spinach with broccoli in cheese sauce - 10 carbs. Chocolate mousse with cream and berries - 7 carbs.
Treats - handful nuts - 4 carbs, decaff coffee with cream liquer - 7 carbs, 1 tbsp yoghurt - 1 carb
Total 40 carbs. Usually have 50 carbs but trying to cut down to 40 this week to see if it helps when I weigh next week.
I am also having trouble drinking enough water when it is cold so have developed the strategy of having one glass water and 1 ribena light ( warm) before breakfast as it starts the day off with nearly 1 litre ( I drink a glass of water through the night).
Well done everyone!!0 -
Didn't find it Cas
May resume searching at some point...
Yesterday good, though we went out on a bus ride to walk the dog (we did actually walk him too; the bus ride wasn't his walk :rotfl: ) and ended up being out quite a long while. Was almost too hungry to do exercise. I'd bought the boys a cookie each from the bakery so wasn't too worried about them. They didn't want to do any exercise with me though, so was able to do my normal thing.
B: Frankies (1.4g)
L: Rather a lot.. 3 of those large mushrooms, fried a bit then grilled(needed eating), with 3 slices of ham, cheese ('Mu' and Parmesan), garlic butter... (~13g - omG didn't realise those mushrooms were ~3g each!
T: Turkey, green beans, mushrooms, chillies fried in garlic butter (5g?)
O: Tea, coffee, s/f gum, s/f wine gum, a square of 85% choc, 4 pints of water... (~3g)
Total carbs : ~23g
Exercise: Hour or so's dog walk, 20 mins wii Zumba ('expert')*, half hour's Yoga (Esther's fab)
*Some guy doing moves I struggled to keep up with, together with really uninspiring music: I think 'expert' means the moves are more complicated; not that it necessarily works you harder.. I've had more of a sweat from easier routines.. Won't be doing that one again in a hurry!
Sheila, I find drinking water a bit of an effort too. I struggle up to ~ 4 pints most days. The ribena's a good idea, though I did it with a 'no added sugar' squash one day and realised it had several carbs, so now I have a couple of pints of green tea with a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice most days. That works quite well for me. Even drinking warm water can be helpful in the colder weather.
Sunny I missed you too, but assumed you were hiding and would come out when readySounds like you need a rest! You're probably losing weight from all that DIY though!!
Mazzers. I really want a bullet now... just looked at completed listings on ebay and the cheapest one went for £31 (inc. p&p. Used). Still a bit much for me, considering we rarely use that sort of thing. Will it grind flax/linseeds..? What do you use it for mostly? Why wouldn't you be without it?
Minihauk, if your clothes are feeling looser, that's progress. Surely that's more accurate than scales anyway.. they can vary for various reasons. Chin up, you're doing good!
Hello Puddings :hello:
Have a good lc day folks. Be good today, then you may be able to enjoy a little treat on the weekend

Thanks Hannoja, but I slipped off the wagon last night. Someone had very helpfully bought me three little Cad***y caramel eggs. DS ate one, and I ate the other two, then of course I ate more chocolates and some licquorice allsorts. Oh well, today is a new one so back on track now.
Sistercas - how do you cook the swede chips, please?
Sunny - nice to see you. Don;t work too hard, and hope the hand feels better.
I must be prepared so I don't slip at the weekend. I find when I am home alone I want to eat anything that is around (boredom, I know), so I have started knitting in the hope that will stop me, don't want to knit with sticky fingers.
Hope you all have a good lc day.0 -
Thank you all for the welcome and help, will be experimenting at the weekend!
Today:
B: scrambled eggs and mushrooms (defo decided I don't like scrambled eggs, so no more!)
L: roast chicken breast with 4 cherry toms, orange pepper, cucumber and mayo + ww yogurt found at the back of the fridge.fish in cream with leeks, mushrooms and stilton + jellllllllyyyyy
E: 25 min walk to work - going to up this starting tomorrow with Gillian Michaels 30 day shred.
I bought a LOT of mushrooms....oops.
Was so incredibly upset last night trying clothes on (need some new ones) have to admit that I'm now a size 16 and not the 10/12 I used to be :-( but I turned it into motivation rather than eating a whole pizza!
Have fab days everyone.

i know how you feel its hard to accept the weight gain , but you did well to turn round into positive thinking - keep it up you will get back into your 10/12s again0 -
Hi
New here. Sorry this may have already been brought up but there have been recent press reports that low carb 2 days a week is as effective as a 24/7 diet.
So I went on a 7 day no carb, followed by 7 day low carb and am now maintaining a gradual loss with a couple of days no carb.
The thing is I weaned myself off carb cravings after doing without initially and am now pretty careful even on carb days.
Also I don't have carbs after 6pm. But at least it means I don't have those 'falling off the wagon' moments.
I still refuse to weigh myself at the mo as I would get depressed and eat a ton of liquorice allsorts . But tight clothes are getting looser and that's good enough for now. :T0 -
SHEILA54, can you advise on your mousse recipe whether you should let the choccy mix cool? I tried it last week but thirded the recipe as I didn't have enough choc in the house and it kind of curdled on me when I added the yolk...any ideas? I was thinking about tryingit with a little sweetener as I find the choc a wee bit bitter, have you tried this?
Mazzers thanks for the lasagne recipe info. I got back from the supermarket last night and couldn't be bothered making the lasagne so I ended up with bolognaise over a pile of broccoli and brussel sprouts...suprisingly tasty! But now I have a pack of courgette that I have no idea what to do with as they are not something I cook with often/ever.
I also bought some granulated splenda last night as I am thinking of making myself a treat this weekend of eton mess :-)
After a complete stall in week 2, I have now lost 12 pounds in less than three weeks, happy camper right now.0 -

I've no idea how I did it - for the last few months I've just thought well sod it, I'm already fat I might as well eat a whole pizza and chocolates cos I'm never going to be able to lose it...possibly the glaring changing room lights that highlighted EVERYTHING.
I must say I actually feel pretty good today wearing trousers that fit and I'm actually comfortable in, its made a difference of sorts to my attitude if that makes sense? Maybe its the acceptance and determination...?
It is the 3rd day this week that there's been birthday cakes in the office kitchen - I've resisted as I'm not hungry after having a big filling breakfast. Although hunger doesn't normally play a part in my eating everything in sight!Really should be doing some work...0 -
My names Keater and I havent had a single sweet for 4 days. Ok sounds a tiny confessions but in reality its a massive goal for me. I so so hope that Monday morning ive lost a little bit. Im away next month so wont be LC that weekend. Ive a lovely dress that fits now but id love to fit with ease then.Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0
