as promised heres what ive had today. As well as this ive had 2l of water plus additional water in my tea. The milk was also in my tea

Breakie -On the go so leftover chicken breast
Mid morning snack 3 hot dog sausages (3 carbs) with 2 whole eggs as an omlette fried
Snack 2x slices of meat (2 carbs) & peperami (2 carbs?)
Tea 2 large chicken breasts, lettuce, cheese (a good portion) and low carb dressing (4 carbs)
additional bits 4x boiled sugar free sweets and 100ml lacto free low carb milk (2 carbs)

Today has been a very chicken filled day is we cooked a big one yesterday for Sunday lunch. Tom ive got sausages and all sorts. Just for extra info I suffer from an allergy to fish.

    hiya

you dont seem to be eating much veg. maybe up the veg a bit and that will help. and is that right you have had around 15 carbs. maybe you need to up that to 20 carbs and try to use as much of that 20 as veg. Just try for a few days and see if it helps.

i have heard that sugar free sweets can stall alot of people but as you only had 4 i wouldnt have thought that would be it but you never know.

Does anyone have any views on caffeine and weightloss? I have been having a couple of cups of black coffee each day and I am hoping this is OK?

The book I am following doesn't recommend it and this seems to be backed up by the internet research I have done. Apparently, caffeine stimulates insulin resistance which makes it harder to lose weight and it also increases appetite which doesn't help either.

    Decaffeinated coffee is OK though.

Has anyone got any ideas for some low carb side dishes?

I'm struggling at the moment to think of ideas, I'm okay with the main part, its just what to put with the steak / chicken I have trouble with.

    Thanks

p.s I hate cauliflower which seems to get used as a substitute for lots of things.

I can't really tell the difference between cauliflower mash and potato mash.

Try it. You might be surprised.

    Hi

After stalling for 4 weeks I actually lost 2lb this week:j

Thanks for the advice about coffee and nitrates:T

    Breakfast - scrambled egg & 1 ryvita
Lunch - Chicken, cheese & 2 ryvita with butter
Dinner - Veg soup using pack of casserole veg, broccoli, courgette, garlic & celery. Marigold veg stock and I think I'll add some cream
Smoked haddock with butter also I think

Had only 1 coffee today but maybe should switch to decaff. Can anyone recommend one which tastes ok?

    How is everyone else doing?

    Heres today offerings
    B 4 x eggs with 4x hot dog type sausages (4)
    Snack- cheapie peparami (2)
D - 2 Eggs & 2 low carb Aldi sausages with a piece of cheese
Tea- loads of mince with mushrooms mixed in with chopped corgette covered in really lovely cheese (3)
Snacks 4 sugar free sweets some lacrofree milk with my teas (3) have also drank some sugar free lemonade and 2l pure water

To the poster who suggested upping my veg intake. The problem I have with veg is that as ive said before but woould love it if anyone can comment, I buy frozen mainly. One shops will say for example cauliflower 1.5g/100g then another shops plain cauliflower 3.5/100g but surely it should be the same? Also a lot of my meals are eaten on the go so to speak. I do a full Sunday roast on a Sunday and msot Saturdays so I do eat a lot of veg at weekends. Im also partial to berries

i would go with whatever it says on the packet you are eating. if its frozen some may have more water added. berries could be a good snack or mixed with a bit of greek yoghurt for breakfast. just keep a track on the carbs that it says on what you buy. personally i have veg with almost every meal but i dont add it up. i generally stick to cauli, broccoli, lettuce, cucumber, celery, green beans, cabbage. i do limit tomoatoes because they are high but i like them too much to give them up! :p

where are you getting your hot dog type sausages from? they seem like a quick and easy breakfast and i am always looking for them. :D
  • Nutty- there from Aldi about 50p a tin. Ive tried lots of brands but these are the best at 1g each and they taste a lot nicer than the others ive tried. Im sure there simply called American style hot dogs. I think life would be easier if I had a lot more time but with 3 children two of whoms quite poorly and my other commitments I dodnt always have time. I do remember stalling the last time I lost quite a lot and for a few weeks. It did come off again after a few weeks and funnily enough it was this weight roughly it happened at. THANKS

Mornin' all on this lovely sunny day. btw where is sunnyday?

 Hi Beanrua, i`m reading & lurking but not posting atm, ta for your thoughts :A and well done you!!!!

:hello: To all our new posters too!

I`ve been a bit naughty - well a lot actually these last couple of days, i`m not eating things that i should and i`ve been eating lots of things that i shouldn`t :o Quite a few beers too :o

I`ve been juggling w*rk, decorating and a whole host of other things too.

Hopefully i`ll be back on track in the next couple of days and i`ll have a bit more time to do the more pressing jobs instead of spending hours in decorating mode, i`m hoping to sand some skirting boards before going to w*rk tomorrow as well as all the normal bits and bobs like washing, cooking, walking the woofaloes etc. Sometimes there arn`t enough hours in the day for me.

I`ve just managed to get all the decorators caulk out from beneath my fingernails - it doesn`t tase very nice either  and i`m off to find some food cos i`m ravenous now. I just seem to forget the time when i`m absorbed in what i`m doing :o

Anyhoo, just saying hi peeps and i`ll be back along soon :D

Keep up the good work everyone!

    Morning everyone!

I'm sitting in my pjs drinking my first cup of coffee even though I've been here over an hour. Just catching up on the world.

Long long day yesterday, left home at 5.00a.m. and not home until almost 7.00p.m. but hardly a carb passed my lips. :j Didn't have breakfast as it was way too early but took lunch with me and then resisted the urge to stop on the way home for wine or takeway. Most impressed with myself.

Breakfast - probably bacon and egg
Lunch - got some braising beef to use up so will make a stew/casserole
    Evening meal - TBC!

Never thought of hot dogs for breakfast but will check them out when I next go shopping. I really really want to make that luscious looking cheescake that was posted recently but I know that I'm capable of eating it all in a couple of days - can't keep anything in the house as my discipline for eeking it out and eating small pieces is absolute zero.

Off for my day - mostly sitting at computer today but hope to get out for some fresh air at some point. V cold here today.

    Happy LCing everyone.
