Please someone come along and motivate me. Just got back from walking chops. Nice snowy walk. House is freezing as I've got the water on/heating up (it's either/or these days). Just munched a peperami whilst waiting for the kettle to boil for a pint of green tea/lemon.

My mind keeps trying to persuade me to make some toast.. Mmm... hot buttered toast... maybe with an egg or two, or a sausage 'butty'... fried egg sani.. just toast, with lashings of butter... mmmm....

Just ate a lump of chicken breast with a bit of mayo.. was so yummy that I think I'll have that for lunch, with lettuce, and maybe even a few cubes of cheese... Need to do exercises first, and won't be able to for an hour or two if I eat any more!!

    HELP!!

    Hi Hannoja,

I bought some bread at the weekend - Bergen Soya and Linseed - which has 10.9g carb for each slice. If you could manage to eat only one slice with butter and your eggs, sausage, etc. that could ease your craving without doing too much harm.
Failing that the one minute muffin I posted about yesterday was really good hot with butter ......

Thank you Minihauk :) I think I'm okay now.. it was a VERY close call between going to the kitchen or up to change for workout.. I charged up the stairs, got changed and just did 45 mins. Zumba, so I'm feeling extremely pleased with myself! Just on here to choose a short yoga class now (and post this :p ).

    Hi All

I am fairly new to this but determined! I am starting week 2 of induction and am 8 pounds lighter and enjoying making new recipes.

Today's delight was smoked bacon, mushroom and leek soup:

2 leeks, 200g mushrooms sauted in a little olive oil and butter. Add some dried porcini mushroom and half a stock cube (lowest carb I had was a chicken Kallo) a pile of water and simmer. I then added a few herbs and some smoked bacon medallions and a slug of double cream and blended when the bacon was cooked. Hearty, tasty and filling!

    Enjoy.

Thank you for your wonderful recipe resources.

    Hi

I started in June last year and lost 1 stone in the first 2 weeks by sticking to it rigidly. I have to mention that I weighed 19 stone at the time so was very overweight!!

I keep to it most days although I cheated a little over Christmas with a bit of Christmas pudding and the odd chocolate.

I need to see weight loss to keep me motivated, don't we all, but having lost 4 stone 7 lb it has been worth it. Now it is getting harder though I still have weight to lose. I don't know about you all but I need a daily low carb treat to keep me going and the chocolate mousse with berries or coffee with Irish Cream liquer fits the bill.

    The mousse is dead simple

    75g of high cocoa solids chocolate (70 - 85%)
    25g butter
    3 eggs

Melt chocolate & butter in bowl over hot water. Separate eggs and add one yolk at a time to mixture. Whisk whites to a peak and fold into chocolate mixture. Divide into 4 bowls and keep in fridge. Each portion is around 5 carbs, depending on the chocolate used and it is nice with cream and a handful of berries, if allowed.

I will try the soup tomorrow as it sounds yummy though I am trying to cut out bacon as it contains nitrates.

Why not put up what you are eating. We can all do with advice and encouragement.

I am out tonight at the Italian for my daughter's birthday but plan to have lamb shank with veg and coffee. I think it will be the best alternative to pasta or pizza. I do miss pasta!!

Had one egg scrambled with mushrooms and 1 ryvita for brekkie.
Lunch: 1 ryvita with St Agur Delice and cucumber as I need to save myself for tonight. Add to that 1 cheese slice and some chicken.

I have to say that I don't often feel hungry but, when I do, I have a small handfull of nuts, which are very filling.

We can all do it, I know we can but isn't it easier when the weather is warm!

You are all good with the exercise but I have had back surgery & have abdominal hernias which need an operation so workouts are a bit difficult. Guess walking and looking after my grandchildren is some sort of exercise though.

    Must be positive!

Have a good day and keep smiling!

    Hello!

Was rather good all weekend until last night when I had a proper craving for baked beans. Had half a tin with 1 chopped sausage and a chopped boiled egg. With mayo :)

B - mexican fudge and 1 egg custard
L - HM curry over cauli
T - a bit of MF, last egg custard. Will have chicken leg and broccoli

The egg custards were not totally as good as I want so can't post recipe yet. However it was an informative experiment and I think I know what to try next. Will update when I can :)

Just a little note to anyone posting recipes. Please if poss put them in a post mostly on their own. This makes it easier and maybe less intrusive for you when folk look them up:o , as I will - unless asked not to - put them in the recipe list on page 1 :).

Barmaid and Sheila54, are you happy for me to use #9771 and #9772?

Hope everyone feels good n healthy today!

    hi all!

Hannoja - I too do it alone but there's only me here so it's easy to avoid bringing bad choices in. However, if I do, there's no one to scoff em for me :rotfl:

    Beanrua - Well done! That's excellent! :j:A:j

narabanek - do post your daily eats, we all can help if there's something you could attend to.

sheila54 - Have you tried the flaxbread or 'flax cracker type thing' on page 1 list? No gluten and very low carb. Flax is mostly fibre but you might count a 6in diameter cracker or 2 2x2inch slices as 1 or 2 carbs respectively.

This place is rocking right now! Glad there's a goodly few to liven it up. We help sometimes by just being there, mostly by being lovely :):T:)
