Hi all,
I've been lurking for several days and I'm very encouraged to see how well everyone is doing on this low carb thing. I'm now on day 8 and have just weighed and have lost 6lbs :j
I did Cambridge in the summer and stopped in about early September after losing 2 1/2 stone, I maintained that weight loss for a good while then about late November I got lazy and when I weighed last Friday I nearly died when I found I'd put on a stone  I was extremely naughty over December as a whole and the New Year period, and my jeans were feeling uncomfortably tight:(
I have the Pig 2 Twig book and Anna Richardson's Body Blitz book and thought it can't be that easy can it??? But it is!! This is definitely the diet for me. I'm a lazy bones when it comes to weighing and counting so WW and the like wouldn't work for me.
I've had delicious food every day and not felt hungry at all. I'm used to all the water from doing Cambridge so I'm really finding this a breeze (maybe I shouldn't speak too soon!). Luckily I don't have a particularly sweet tooth, but I'm surprised to find I'm not missing carbs at all.
Anyway, enough of my wittering. I just wanted to introduce myself :wave:0 -
Im getting back onto the LC wagon aswell, I have gained about 4kg since last October  What makes it worse is that because I have lost so much weight Im on the waiting list for a TT, and on Wed I got a call to get it done on Fri but my BMI had went up so they turned me away again until March - So $£%$^$^ at myself.
Tomorrow it begins! I have done cambridge diet before and dont really want to go down that route, I like eating!
First goal is 10lbs loss.0 -
Hi all
welcome sofababe and buttonmoon.
mazzers
Had Indian meal last night and did ok - had bowl of steamed vegs instead of rice or chips. To-night will be different - my neighbour invites us round to her house quite often, she used to own a home bakery so the table is full of all HM stuff  - I try to tell her I can't eat late at night etc etc but it makes no difference, she likes you to sample every variation of sandwich, bun, cakes, tarts etc on the table - and they are all gorgeous!!!!!! she is so kind and lovely and goes to so much trouble that I don't have the heart to refuse. Will try damage limitation instead.Treat the Earth well,It was not given to you by your parents,It was loaned to you by your children.Masai proverb0 -
Had a bad week, been on training course for work. Buffet lunch was provided for free and there was no opportunity to leave the site, so I was stuck with hobson's choice, all very high in carbs, sarnies, chips, samosas etc. I could have done without this so soon after Christmas, but it's back on the LC wagon tomorrow.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Hello lovely LC people!
Welcome Sofababe and button, hope you like it here. I do
Beanrua - just do your best, sometimes it really is ok to give a little to a good person even when you know you'll pay for it later. Be kind and be as kind to yourself as is possible. :A
Newleaf - Carb simples are so easy for corporate functions. Next time have a good scoff on LC food before to help you resist. (mex fudge is filling, portable and easy to swallow - you don't need to use chillis) If no chance before, have them in your bag for later after 'swearing' you weren't that hungry. Hope I don't shock but I have been known to shove down correct food in the toilet room so I don't have to / need to eat as I'm just not hungry. Pack a plastic fork
Blowing it all now with a can of cider. Full week without any alcohol til today. Considering quite how much I've put away in the xmas weeks (and previously) I'm letting myself off this one.Don't want to totally lose my edge :rotfl:
Only joking! I know that if I drink alcohol I will never shrink. It's just the way we human bodies work. So from 7 - 2 times a week and considerably less each sesh I think my general abstinence should help.
Been good with food.
Happy weekend good folk!

Afternoon Peeps
Freezing cold here BRRR!
Twas minus 3.6 when i got in from w*rk last night and i had my usual hot choccy with a good glug of double cream and brandy, don`t think that its doing me any good though as i`ve put 1lb onI look forward to it now, hopefully it will run out soon and i`m not buying any more.
Just eaten a late brekkie of sausage, scramblies and mushrooms, dinner will be beef & horseradish sandwich and tea will be keema mince made with cubed swede instead of cubed potatoes.
For snacks it will be the usual nuts and a 25g bar of dark choccy
I`ve got lamb shanks defrosting so i can bung them in the slowcooker overnight ready to take to w*rk tomorrow, the sc has been on for the last 4 nights and i`m finding it so convenient.
Welcome to Buttonmoon & sofababe, this is a good place to be!
Right must go and feed the birdies again before i set off, have a great day everyone
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Well my neighbour was really happy - I ate 2 of everything - and then she came out with HM sponge cake with fresh cream - and I ate that -and then she came out with HM apple tart and I ate that!!!! She is a dote and I love her and her food is great!!!
But my stomach was like yellowstone park all night - geyser-like!
Anyway will get back on track soon hopefully. Headin on hols on Wed for a week and did ok last time with a bit of forward planning so I'll look on it as a lc detox - maybe.Treat the Earth well,It was not given to you by your parents,It was loaned to you by your children.Masai proverb0 -
Hi all!
Either what I had last week hadn't really gone away or I've contracted some other lurgy
To cheer myself up I have made coconut muffins, in the oven as I type. Using erythritol for the first time, half n half with splenda, to see how it performs.
Must have smaller muffin tins since I last made it as I got 9 rather than 6. This gives each one less than 2.5 carbs content.
Been using flaxbread and find it rather nice if I add mixed herbs.
Hope you all have a good weekend! :T
