Hi guys,
Been feeling a bit demotivated as face looks thinner, I'm much healthier but scales do not reflect this (I've read the articles on-line about scales/fatcells holding water etc..).
Went on the posh body fat scanner thingy at the gym-the coach who took it said my % body fat was very good (25.3%)....in fact the slip it produced said I was virtually bang on for body fat-only 0.4kgs (of fat) to lose based on a BMI aim of 25-on looking at various charts for my age 25 is the top end of the 'healthy' range-but still 3 stone to lose????
2nd gym visit yesterday-going again 2 day to make it 3 in a week. Could hardly move on Thursday/Friday (!)....but have much more muscle definition already.
So..................it's mostly WATER. I just hope it goes soon. I know know the fat cells fill with water & don't really release them for 5-6 weeks...(I'm now 4 1/2 weeks in). Any other tips to speed this up? I'm keeping under 25gms carbs a day & drink a lot of water....!
At least this proves that my body HAS been using fat as fuel for 4 weeks...!
Gonna write all carbs down accurately this week & have 3 litres of water-in fact i'll do scrap of paper & count my pints of water. Also laying off the vodka this week. Made some fab indian kebabs last night (google 'the spice is right,)....used up leftover celery, pepper & avacado in spicy mayoniase with a full fat garlic yoghurt dip-lovely!0 -
DM, i had the same problem a few years ago when i lost quite a bit of weight, i dropped a few dress sizes but scales didn't reflect this, it is disheartening but the important thing is you have lost weight.
As for the fat cells holding water.. it had been 2 months and the scales still didn't acknowledge any more loss after losing a stone and a half, which is why i usually give up at this point. How can i keep getting smaller but not lose weight ???
Reading it on your post tho makes me realise how silly it is to give up so dont you dare.. seriously.. keep it up, the scales should give in eventually and then carbs can be increased til you find your own personal level to maintain.
I need to practice what i preach:p

Thanks mazzers...however I was 2 1/2kg lighter on the scales 3 weeks ago. A bith disheartening that I'm now only 1 1/2 kg under what i started at-90 kg! My belly looks 'a bit' smaller...but my face is much thinner. I suppose trousers are 'a bit' looser....so my muffin top is 90% water-how annoying!0

Thanks everyone for the welcome
Started LC today, biggest thing for me is ditching the diet drinks for water. I hate waterWill get myself some coke zero as that has no citric acid at least.
Had poached egg, baby leaf spinach, 1 tomato and a big fat mushroom for brekkie.
I'm not being carb counting crazy, just avoiding most things big in carbs, spuds/rice/bread/rice probably a lot of pulses....
Where do you get the LC crackers from? They'd be nice at lunchtime.0 -

Evening every-one
I am so dehydrated today, I have been interviewing all day long without a break. Thankfully the store manager slid me 3 cups of fruit tea throughout the day or I'd feel even more thirsty. I also have not eaten until just now. I don't like it as it normally makes me gain 2lb the day after
On a plus note I filled several vacancies
Debtmonkey- don't quit. Look at what you have lost, your doing well. Just a blip that's all.:AMazzer is right, don't concentrate to much on the scales. Your trousers are becoming lose. That is your motivation to continue. Has your gf continued? If so how is it going?
Gers- Where are you? I thought you were back home around now. Make sure you come back, even if you had a disaster when away.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0
