Wow, lots of chattering going on here!
    Welcome to the newcomers

Cherub, I have 2 chilli Herta Frankfurters for brekkie each morning with a little splash of ketchup (was the sugar free 'Colac' from Avidlite, then a reduced sugar/salt one (Heinz I think), but need to get more Colac, so using a teensy squirt of 'Daddies' atm :o ). The frankfurters are only 0.7g carbs. each and they hit the spot for me in the mornings. (Next best thing to a slice of granary toast with butter......... thllrrppp...... <drools> :p )

Got the [STRIKE]pot of paint[/STRIKE] full fat yoghurt from Lidl. Was really expecting not to like it, but it's surprisingly nice, so thanks for that :D. I forgot the Splenda too last time, so looking forward to the one we're having tonight, as soon as the berries have defrosted <drums fingers on desk>

    :)

Oh, and thanks Mercy for the linseed/flax info. :)

Hi! I have been low carbing since New Years day and doing well! I have lost 9lbs already!I love the food although it is hard to find variety. (The only meat I eat is chicken) This thread has given me some fab ideas! I am a bit confused though at the carb content in cauliflower. I have been using lots of it and always have some prepped in the fridge to use as mash, rice etc. Its lovely. But when I checked the carb content it was 45 carbs for a large head. I could probably use a large head in 3 sittings mashed up so it seems quite high for lc? Or do you use it sparingly?
    Hi and welcome
You set me to thinking about cauli.
I don't use it sparingly - I'd be lost without it. I'd maybe use half a head mashed for topping a meal (like veggie mince stuff) which would do me and OH 2 nights.
    If 1 head =45
    half= 22.5 - say 22
spread over 2 nights - 11 per night
    11 carbs between 2 people = 5 or 6 each
I actually don't count carbs very well - I just try and eat things that I know to be lc.

Yay, not just me then. I can't be doing with weighing and counting.
I have Frankfurters for brekkie, usually something like ham, cheese and a few brazils for lunch, then something meaty with perhaps a little veg. for tea: last couple of nights was stir fried meat (turkey then casserole steak) and cabbage/leek/mushroom, and tonight was a sort of chilli - just the meaty bit - which OH made. They had pasta but I didn't. Was deeeelish!!

The berries and yoghurt was yummy with a little Splenda. I'm slightly concerned about the carbs though: about 3 dessert spoons of fruit with the same of yoghurt and about half a tsp of Splenda... might try and work it out at some point.. :p Makes a nice change from SF jelly and cream!

The cauli subject has tweaked my curiosity too... I haven't had cauli since before Christmas, but last time I did a 'cauli pie' I used a big cauli as the mash and we had 1/4 each.. though there was enough left for another helping I suppose... hmm... not too bad I suppose...

Watching Merlin on watchseries atm. Never appealed to me, then saw it once and was hooked.. catching up on all of it now. In love with it :D

Hi guys, i really need to join this thread as need to loose a bit more than a stone for holiday in couple of months. I tried doing SW last year but it didn't work for me. I tried dukan diet for a short time couple of years ago and lost a fair bit. But as i am a vegetarian, it can get a bit boring with limited options. Off to read the whole thread for inspiration

Morning everyone. Just about to have my breakfast, will use up the last egg (I usually have two) with some streaky bacon. Think lunch will be stir fried pork belly with veggies as they too need used up. The evening meal will be decided later on.

Yesterday was another good day.The water regime was successful though I was a little worried about how long it took before I needed to wee. Shows I must be more dehydrated than I thought.

I gauge the success of my efforts by 1) shoes needed to be pulled tighter and 2) clothes being looser - both are happening already. :j Almost fell over my trouser legs yesterday by walking on them! And the waistband came up to under my boobs when I pulled them up. :rotfl:

Need to off out - hope everyone has a great LC day today.

Morning all, I have been lurking but didn't post as (a) too tired and (b) too despondent :(

My leccy seems to be a complete mystery and is still off in the kitchen, so no heating still, gas fire not being sorted til 16th so i'm freezing and the whole house feels chilled through :(

I think the rendering has to be sorted now but is gonna cost 3-4 grand :(

Well done to everyone, i'm def gonna try to get my act together tomorrow.
  • Thanks Beanrua. It sounds better put like that. I suppose if you have a big pile of mashed cauli in place of pots, it would quickly add up but for cottage pie top or fried as fritters etc it would not be so bad. I love cauli and could prob eat a whole large head in a day! Some great tips here. Thanks.

    Evening everyone
I'm going to have to jiggle my meal plan as when I went shopping they had a large bag of lemon & limes down to 40p so I need to use these up.

Sistercas & Gers, well done on your weight loss :)

    Hi all newbies :)

Mazzers, sounds like you are having a nightmare with your house atm. :( Hope you are sorted soon x

I'm having a cheeky vodka with lime in it.(Shhh don't tell anyone, esp the scales :rotfl:)
