I've just made the almond/flax loaf and it has turned out well, despite me only having 3 eggs to put in it. I used half almond and half flax meal, plus some whole flax seeds for texture. It tastes lovely warm with some butter, a bit like Irish soda bread, and I think it would be very good with home made soup. The texture is a bit 'cake like' though, so I doubt it would make a sandwich - we'll see. It's now cooling and waiting to be wrapped in foil.

I been on a low carb diet since tues - I'm finding it pretty expensive due to the amount of meat & cheese I'm getting through. I'm feeling a bit low and rubbish today but I expect that is normal. I know this diet works as I've done it before but so far I've not lost any weight - just stayed the same. I'm finding that when I'm going to bed I'm not tired and can't get to sleep easily - I had problems with this before when I was low carbing.

    Anybody else fed up

The only thing I am fed up with is being fat...keeps me motivated!

Good luck and I hope that you have success.
  • Again, thanks lots of good advice. Think I need to try baking a bit more, not very confident baker though! Will look at the carbs on tinned tomatoes, never crossed my mind they would be high in carbs!

Hi all - lots of motivation and support on here. Love reading all the posts. Bit the bullet and weighed in this morning - 10st 4lbs - was 10st 5lbs before Xmas - so I'm feeling ok about that! :)
That's a total of 1st 10lbs lost since end of September - would like to get to 10st or even a sneaky 9st 12lbs.;)
pp - felt better after the berries and yoghurt and seeds - felt even better when I weighed this morning¬!!!!
