another good day today, brekkie was scramblies, sausages, gammon and mushrooms, dinner was pate on lc toast and tea was cheese, gherkins, pickled onions :o and the last of the gammon.

I got weighed this morning and i've lost 3lb :j:j
Only another 7 to go before i`m back to my pre holidays weight :D

I'm not sure how much of this is water though as i think that maybe i`m a little bit dehydrated so i'll make an effort to drink a bit more tomorrow.

Andrewsmum - :rotfl: at the christmas cake, the trouble with me is that DH wouldn`t even raise his eyebrows as when i go off on one of my "must eat everything in sight" episodes i`m more than capable of eating all of it and then some

Flissh - I can sympathise with the cracked tooth, i lost the entire back of one of mine to pork scratchings, i love em but the tooth is a constant reminder as despite lots of repeated work its never been the same :(

I've just bagged up a few bits to take to w*rk in the morning, i have a huge tub of hm butter pats to get through, the leftover cream that was about to turn has been put to good use and its sooo much nicer than bought butter.

    Happy lcing peeps

Walked thro' all torrential rain to all the shops looking cauliflower - none at all!!!!! Wanted to make veggie mince thing with mashed cauli - I use so much cauli -and I came home soaked and dejected!!! only to remember I had some frozen cauli in freezer for emergencies such as this - why didn't I remember before I started on a wild goose chase thro' high winds and lashing rain.
Feeling more energetic and glad to be be back 100% lc - why I ever thought those sausage rolls etc etc were worth it I'll never know.

The wild cod roast was awful :(
I'll eat most things but wasted the lot.
Twas a big piece of cod in a bag with chive butter and sliced lemons, looked lovely, but was so tough and dark fleshed underneath that it was inedible.

Hope its a one off as i've got another in freezer

Had someone to look at the electrics but we are puzzled
Unplugged eveything, still tripping, five mins later it's working, plugged everything back in, chopping veg for tea fifteen mins later and all off again :(

Got no gas heating either coz it's an electric pump :(

That is such a pain mazzers - my leccie trips when i do a boil wash in washing machine - so now I can't do that . Have you anything wired up that you can't unplug - perhaps fire alarms etc?
Was sorry I missed the cod roasts - but now I'm quite glad- I love fish but not when it;s tough and hard - it's horrible when you buy something and look forward to eating it and then it turns out to be horrible.

    http://www.rocofit.com/2011/11/24/simple-paleo-bread-recipe/

MEGA recipe-much lighter than 100% flax bread & something daft like 5 or 6 carbs A LOAF. Follow intructions or watch video. I baked for 40 mins at around 390 (my oven is a cheap portable one & is slightly 'under' with temps-obviously change to suit your oven) -until top slightly brown/crisp.

For us UK folks-1 1/3 cup flax meal (for any newbies buy whole linseed at 99p/100gm at asian shops & grind yourself) =123gms. The almond meal (again I bought loads of WHOLE almonds at asian shop & grind in cheap coffeee grinder)-2/3 cup = 62gm. ALso I added 1 teaspoon of 'low salt' .Could be double up easily & put in a full sized loaf tin (I used a £1 silicone smaller container). texture moist & would easily stand up to being made into a sandwich-& its good for you!

LOVELY LOVELY-rises better than the 'original ' flax only loaf. Reminds me a bit of rustic wholemal with seeds. Keeps a week if wrapped in foil in fridge (high fat keeps it moist). May try 1/2 & 1/2 NEXT TIME (REDUCE FLAX & INCREASE ALMOND) TO SEE HOW IT TASTES.
Also....if doing 1/2 & 1/2 you could add frozen berries & some splenda-a sort of 'malt loaf'??

Will call Irwins bread today-to see if it's in ANY place in West Yorkshire-but now I can bake some nice stuff theres not the urgency.

    Have a good day all!

Confused. Saw this article which says not to cook linseed:
A good way to get the best from them is to soak them first. Put one heaped desertspoonful of seeds into a glass, cover with water and leave overnight. Add the swollen seeds and water to a drink such as fruit juice or a smoothie, or to your cereal or yogurt, or drink it on its own. You can eat linseeds in this way every day. They are a good cure for constipation, but avoid eating the seeds if you have bowel problems, such as diverticulitis.

Alternatively, you can grind linseeds in a pestle and mortar or coffee grinder before adding them to food. Never cook with linseeds or their oil - as the heat will render them unstable. To keep them fresh, store airtight in the fridge.
So flaxseed = linseed. Many recipes are around involving it, yet you apparently shouldn't cook it, as it becomes 'unstable'.. whatever that means. Is the Guardian article wrong, or just 'overcooking' it a bit..?

    Yours confusedly,

I thought it was the washing machine but thats going hell for leather now on an extension.
Did miss the cooker hood but my helper thought of that, he used to be a sparky, i do have a fire alarm, we didnt think of that, i wonder if its the culprit?
    Thanks for that :)

Me too Gers, usually make it til i get fed up of it.

That bread looks lovely, although, it is a similar recipe as the flax bread on page one, looks better baked than microwaved tho.
One of the posters made the comment her flax tasted 'fishy', i find flax fishy too, maybe it has something to do with the omega3 that likens it to fish.

    Electric still tripping out :(
I will have to unplug all appliances to find the culprit but suspect it is the washing machine point on the outside wall :( unsure what to do about that tbh.
I don't find it fishy but I do find it has an awful sweet after taste(The bread recipie not flax) .
I love flax in a blue berry muffin or with cream & berries :)

Mirry please will you post the recipie x
Life is short, smile while you still have teeth :D
