Evening folks :rotfl:
I always wee like mad when i first start back.
Woke to find the terrible weather had knocked my elastictrickery off
It has caused damp on the wall near an electric point in the kitchen, happened once before in severe wet weather, only had the bloody place rewired a few years ago too
Anyway, upshot is i've got the electrics off in the kitchen as its a seperate ring and got an extension lead for my fridge and freezer, hopefully it will dry out tonight as it was only microwave meals tonight.. i had been good in work too, bacon and eggs and ham salad.
On the subject of meat, Tesco has reduced the frozen 'xmas joints' to half price (due to the fact 'christmas' is on the wrapping) i got five turkey breasts, a gammon joint and two wild cod roasts in lemon and thyme butter for £2.50 each:)
Day off tomorrow so hopefully things will be back to normal and i can bake a loaf and get access to my cooker.0 -

I'd hoped to stop shopping at MR T but will have a look, thanks.
Pork scratchings as a snack tonight, forgot to defrost some berries :cool:Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Morning!
What meat bargains and such a good stash - well done. I try to avoid Ts as much as possible.
This morning I've had two cold sausages and am about to dig into a bowl of yoghurt and blueberries sprinkled with cinnamon. Then going for my first Health Walk for an hour. I will probably take a couple of sausages with me for a snack/lunch after the walk if I need it. I really hope that english mustard is very low in carbs as I love it on my sausages!!
Tonight I will stir fry another piece of the belly pork and have it with veggies again. Once I like something I tend to make it and eat it for ages as I find it difficult to make something different each day.
Hope all is well with everyone and that hard-core LCing is happening. :rotfl:0 -
morning everyone , I am excited this morning because i had a email telling me my delivery of low carb stuff will arrive today :j. I odered low carb wraps @ 3 carbs each and lots of other interesting stuff.
last night I made a very large egg custard tart and it was 3 carbs in total , it was so yummy but I ate too much of it (why cant i learn) and felt a bit icky again.
breakfast was bacon & egg /greek yogurt with half a teaspoon of wheat bran (to keep me regular).
Lunch hopefully a cheese wrap if postie comes by then.
tonight I am having chilli con carne @ 5 carbs (cos of the beans).
do any of you count your carbs ? I try to if I can.Kindness costs nothing0 -
Hi all!
Well....heading in the right direction. Was down to 13 stone 5/6 -but hovvered around 13 stone 8/9 (still mega pleased as 3- 3/12 kg) for last 4 days or so. Have been keeping carbs 20 or less a day. Ah well...the odd vodka (resolution is 4-5 booze free days a week!) may be 'sticking' things but in my 1st week I lost 5 punds & gained back 3-but this went too. Last 2 days been 0.1kg lighter each day...
Made some cardcore 'mans chilli' (!)-cooked right down like the original chillis from the old west-a good chilli you can stand a fork up in it. Ultra LC -around 3-4 a portion. VERY NICE-will print recipe if anyones interested? I did take off SOME fat after cooled (I know we're meant to have fat as a fuel source but there's still plenty in there). Cheese on top & high -fat yoghurey-YUM!

MEGA recipe-much lighter than 100% flax bread & something daft like 5 or 6 carbs A LOAF. Follow intructions or watch video. I baked for 40 mins at around 390 (my oven is a cheap portable one & is slightly 'under' with temps-obviously change to suit your oven) -until top slightly brown/crisp.
For us UK folks-1 1/3 cup flax meal (for any newbies buy whole linseed at 99p/100gm at asian shops & grind yourself) =123gms. The almond meal (again I bought loads of WHOLE almonds at asian shop & grind in cheap coffeee grinder)-2/3 cup = 62gm. ALso I added 1 teaspoon of 'low salt' .Could be double up easily & put in a full sized loaf tin (I used a £1 silicone smaller container). texture moist & would easily stand up to being made into a sandwich-& its good for you!
LOVELY LOVELY-rises better than the 'original ' flax only loaf. Reminds me a bit of rustic wholemal with seeds. Keeps a week if wrapped in foil in fridge (high fat keeps it moist). May try 1/2 & 1/2 NEXT TIME (REDUCE FLAX & INCREASE ALMOND) TO SEE HOW IT TASTES.
Also....if doing 1/2 & 1/2 you could add frozen berries & some splenda-a sort of 'malt loaf'??
Will call Irwins bread today-to see if it's in ANY place in West Yorkshire-but now I can bake some nice stuff theres not the urgency.
Have a good day all!0 -

Me too Gers, usually make it til i get fed up of it.
That bread looks lovely, although, it is a similar recipe as the flax bread on page one, looks better baked than microwaved tho.
One of the posters made the comment her flax tasted 'fishy', i find flax fishy too, maybe it has something to do with the omega3 that likens it to fish.
Electric still tripping out
I will have to unplug all appliances to find the culprit but suspect it is the washing machine point on the outside wallunsure what to do about that tbh.

hi everyone , Are we all ready for a new year L Carbing ?
I was a little bit naughty over xmas , but have not weighed myself yet, trousers feel the same so fingers crossed.
Today is day 2 on my diet , for those who want low carb noodles, I have just ordered some shiraaki noodles at zero carbs , thought I would give them a try & also ordered some wraps @ 3 carbs each.
Popped into Iceland today and got 2 chicken fillets wrapped in bacon and cheese in a butter and leek sauce @ 1.5 carbs each.
I served with with cauliflower mash (mashed in cream cheese & cream), served with a few green beans. Omg it was amazing :T.
Made 3 batches of chilli con carne to freeze for emergancys.
Tomorrow I am making creamy chicken & vegtable curry for dinner.
I am just trying not to get caught out with meal ideas cos thats when I eat carbs:eek:.
Good luck every one
Mirry how do you make your cauli mash please ?0 -
I dont have many options for snacks aside from pork scratchings. found some 'fridge raiders' on offer in sainsburys earlier and they're actually pretty tasty http://www.mattessons.co.uk/?page_id=212 . about 2g carbs in a 65 g bag. was hard to stop at half a bag though !!
anyone got any other suggestions ? I tried polish sausage (kabanos) but they were a bit grissly and tough skin which put me off !!0 -
Mazzers-it's SO much better baked in my opinion-& can't beleive how light (ish!) it is.....
To be honest as we in the UK don't have easy access to lo-carb stuff I think to give yourself some viariety you need to do things like make bready type things-so good as ideal for a quick meal. For GF'S lunch (she literally gets 5 mins-she teaches conversational french) I used ONE slice (10.9carbs) burgen bread but stacked it high! So..it can all be done with a little thought. Will deffo make some muffiny sweet things for GF-also a nice quick breakfast too.
Also-Flax-never found it 'fishy'-maybe cos mines freshly ground?0 -

I always have a handful of almonds/babybel/pepperami/boiled egg/rolls of ham spread with cream cheese at the ready when lc-ing, or make Mercys mexican fudge (not real fudge) recipes on link on page one.0
