Just catching up with posts, but I notice there's been some discussion about soya flour.
I've used it for pancakes and they taste exactly like normal ones, especially when stuffed with something yummy. I had them this evening: two, filled with cooked spinach and with a cheese sauce on top, oven till brown and bubbly, served with a green salad. Delicious and very filling. Several people have said that soya flour is bad for you, but for two pancakes you need less than 15g of it.
And water - I drink at least 3 litres a day, often more, plus a couple of cans of Diet Coke. (Just to get the blasted supplements down takes the best part of a litre!)0 -

I'm heartened to read you like the soya pancakes coz I was going to try them tomorrow. Have you tried them with a sweet filling? I'm a sucker for sugar and lemon pancakes so will have to think of a low carb alternative.
Feeling quite thin (for me) today but that's coz I haven't weighed myself!;)
Its encouraging to read about all the weight you guys have lost, keep it up!"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -

Try Splenda and lemon. I know some people don't like sugar alternatives, but Splenda does the trick for me. Sad to have to eschew the maple syrup and bananabut don't forget you can add cream on top - the extra-thick is lovely.
What recipe are you using for the pancakes? I use the Atkins one: 13g soya flour, 1 egg, 40g water for two pancakes - but could probably get three out of the mixture if you wanted to.0 -
OK, I've got a chocolate cake on my lap and I'm going to eat it. I don't care, I'm fat and ugly anyway.

Oh Badger, I hope things feel a little better for you soon. I met my Mr Right at 28 after what seemed like a desert -5 years is nothing to me! Have your night of cake and tears but wake up tomorrow determined to feel good about yourself. You've done so well for yourself, feel proud of your achievements. If that chap can't see how great you are its his loss!
Thanks HC -just made pancakes, couldn't wait til tomorrow and they were really, really fab. Definately a regular fixture from now on. Gonna try and find that bucket of yoghurt tomorrow and mix with berries. Mmmmm...and possibly with more pancakes...Mmmm."I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -
Badger, what are you talking about?! We have seen the photo & you are certainly not fat & ugly!! You are a babe & don't you forget it!!
As daisy said, there will be someone out there, you just haven't met them yet.0 -
Badger, just to echo the others, you are perfectly lovely. We've seen the pics, and we know what we're talking about. And read back thru some of your posts when you were feeling good - you're slim, pretty and and desirable... you admit that yourself. We can also tell that you're intelligent, articulate and fun to be with.
You're just having a bad day. Eat the cake if you want to - it won't matter a jot in the long term. You're so young, and you have loads of time to meet 'the one'.
Be kind to yourself.0 -
Aawww, cheer up badger, at least you got all those things goin for you..
Think if you were fifty and fat with a not so well paid job and a crap car.... you'd be me:D
Have got my own house though;)
Hang on, i'm bloody comin to share that cake now:rolleyes:0 -
Thanls everyone - sorry for the whinge, they're happening more and more these days! Alcohol is bad.
