So its only me and alias thats not been drinking then :o

And we are the ones moaning the most  :rotfl:

Maybe drinking water is the secret to a happy life :)

I wont be having the water tablets..

It was diuretics that caused me to be rushed to A&E as i have low potassium and they almost completely depleted it, which resulted in atrial fibrillation, ( doc said i was very lucky not to suffer a stroke) and the death of a small portion of the heart muscle. So be careful.

I take potassium supplement so may still give em a go. I suppose it's like everything, too much is too much? I know you are a special case, mazzers (in more ways than one ;)) I'm glad you told us as more info is always to the good. Do you naturally have low potassium? I don't know much about that sort of thing. Must've been one hell of a way to find out.

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

Was told by GP years ago that i had low potassium, but he didnt drive home how important it is to heart function, just said eat more bananas, quite flippant now i know the consequences.
So i have been eating dried apricots, bananas, orange juice etc ( no wonder i put on so much weight, as all high sugar)

Someone spraying excess deodorant in a cloakroom started my heart pounding like mad ( the accellerants, propane and butane) and because of low potassium (due to bendroflumethiazide for high BP) it couldnt right itself, hence the ambulance with sirens and suspected heart attack. Took a few hours before it was regulated hence the damage.
    Am ok now though

Made moussaka, didnt know hc had posted a recipe, was lovely and tasty but very lasage-like, will try hc's next time, had with salad followed by strawberies and that gorgeous yogurt (thanks to badger) so am very contented.

See... cooking something nice makes all the difference. Also made the muffins, which i nibbled and are fab, but will add more splenda next time as i like them a bit sweeter. Can see what you mean about leaving to firm up tho mercy, didnt expect them to rise but they did and look just like 'muffins'.. yeah.. thanks mercy :D

Oh forgot to add i dont take a potassium supplement as doc said too much is not good for you either, unless you get it naturally.

    Hi all

Does anyone have a link to these water balance tablets? Would like to see what that's all about :)

    Mx

    Mercy,

The ones we take are here

If the link gets eaten they're called HRI Water Balance tablets - traditional herbal remedy - main ingredient seems to be Dandelion Root powder LOL

Alias, and anyone else disappointed at not losing when being 'good'. Go to page one, follow link to IPD, register and then read the 'sticky' in the forums titled 'why the scales can lie' it is very interesting.

Dandelion Tea, anyone? My garden`s full of `em.....:p

Just had Early Bird lunch at local Harvester. Boo Hoo, they`ve stopped doing steaks on the menu! That`s been my favourite meal out, with the salad cart to rummage through....Had to have chicken instead. Boring......

I`m going to give more water a go, but I feel well and truly STALLED. Also strangely lacking in energy. I read up on some high-fat sites last week and tried that for a couple of days.No good, either. Then I tried a bit more veg, less protein `cos I was feeling a bit (whisper......) constipated. Fixed that, but still not lost any weight.

Also, remember all the discussions about coconut oil we had a while back....? I couldn`t get on with it at all eating wise, but it`s a blinding moisturiser and hair conditioner providing you don`t go too mad with it. Skin`s never been better.

Sorry to moan...I had a Jolly Encouraging Update thing from my weightloss Plan this morning, saying how WELL everyone was doing and it read like one of those Round Robin things you get in Christmas cards, from people you never see all year.It had totally the opposite effect on me, it was meant to.
    Booooo
    Nerdy.
