    Hey sweets

Sorry you are off. You know how you feel and sometimes a break and change of tack does work. I put on 6lbs last week, so suddenly going back onto carbs doesn't work well for me  Think most of that was bread / wheat though. Seem to cope better with sugar than wheat.

Heyho, I'll stop rambling;) Best of luck honey!

    Big love

  • Doing well today after eating junk food for too long.

    B: yogurt
L: fake chicken breast sliced up with cheese and pesto and salad
D: don't know but we get a new vegbox today
    Drinks: 1 litre so far
Exercise: usual cycle commute plus will do 40mins cardio in gym after work.

I only weigh myself once a month - I'm not sure weighing yourself every day or even every week is that helpful? I can't see how eating some carbs will put on several pounds of fat, each pound of fat is 3500 calories. Yet our weight does vary from day to day due to other factors, and I know I would get very discouraged from either putting on 2 pounds overnight or losing "only" 1 pound in a week. Hence I weigh myself less often, it smoothes out the bumps and I get to see a bigger loss each time.

I don't think my 6lbs is all fat. and 6lbs in 8 days or so is hardly a bump I could smooth over :) I've been l/c for 12 months+ mainly due to a wheat intolerance, but this means that apart from spuds 3 times, some choc along the way and alcohol, I've been high carb free all that time. Last week it was pasta, bread everyday, potatoes, pastry, cake, choc and alcohol. Follow this with Easter and all round poor diet. My body is so unused to the food it's gone wrong.

Sincerely hope some of that weight is water :rotfl:

Anyway, when you get roll mop cravings, it's time to l/c once more. :)

    Hello. Can I join in?
I have begun my low carb diet today! Trying to stick as closely as possible to the Atkins induction for the first two weeks.
So far today I have had bacon and scrambled egg (just egg and butter no milk) and a tin of tuna mashed with mayo.....I actually feel bloated! Can this be possible? Going to have sausages and steamed veg for tea.

I'd murder a Mars Bar though....this is my sweet craving time of day!

    hi Daisy!

I've never done Atkins, believe that the carb abstinence in induction can take a bit of getting used to :)

Best of luck! When you can afford a few more carbs there's a nice list of low carb recipes - link on page 1 of this thread.

Very sensible littlemiss, is difficult not to weigh when you are feeling 'thin' tho :D
and the memory of losing a lb a day for three days is great. Wish i could regain that success.

Welcome daisyclaire, once the carbs have gone from your body you wont feel bloated, well, cept for totm perhaps.

Badger, have just got some of that yogurt. cant believe you ate half :rotfl:
is fab tho, i like it on savoury foods like curry and chilli.

Turned out beautiful today after all.

Thanks for the welcome Mercy & mazzers.
Will be low carbing when I have kicked started this with the strict Atkins induction so thanks for the heads up about the recipes - had a quick lurk before I posted and saw a few good ones :)

I actually feel fatter today! I guess its as you say mazzers, I am still full up with carbs from yesterday! I honestly don't think I can manage my tea! Trouble is I will get the munchies at 9pm.

I have about 3.5 stone to loose!

Welcome DaisyClaire and good luck on your lc mission.

Littlemiss I don't know how you only weight yourself once a month, I weigh once a week and find it hard only doing that.

Thanks for tips on the raspberry puree guys. Mercy I haven't actually tried sugarfree jam so can't comment although we have had the weightwatchers jam before and that tasted fine.
    Started Atkins 22/02/09 - total weightloss 11lbs:j

    Morning all!

It's been an interesting week getting carbs out the system. Have to say it's been a relief and feel much better than I did on Tuesday. Not a bad thing has passed my lips :A including alcohol :)

Just about got the guts in order again too :j

Going out tonight so will have a few voddies, it'l be good to catch up with friends and I'm looking forward to it.

Been spring cleaning and plan to wash the suite covers tonight, hope we get a drying day tomorrow else the house will be steamy again.

Planning some gardening for weekend, free exercise :)

    Happy day to you all!
