Hey, said I'm off low-carbing but didn't say I'd stop posting on this thread!! :rotfl: Someone has to keep us on page one - we were on page two when I checked this morning!!
Won't be posting menus for the next few days  but am still interested in how everyone else is getting on.
Gaye, your post the other day made me laugh - I think I need [STRIKE]a swift kick up the derriere[/STRIKE] some inspiration to get back on track so will hopefully be reading my IPD book, looking at recipes ideas etc etc over the next few days.
Be good everyoneI'll be watching!! :rotfl:

Why are we all feeling so down at the moment?
We've all lost weight, we're all keeping it off, Easter egg splurges were under control (harder for me than Christmas), we're in control of our eating habits now, etc ........
If we had been told that would be possible before we started LC we would have been thrilled wouldn't we - so why are we getting hung up on the fact that our early weight losses have slowed up (probably because there's a whole lot less of us to lose) and forgetting to celebrate our successes.
Yay us i say!
Despite the grotty weather I'm determined to stay sunny all weekend and enjoy the new me to the full rather than wishing I was 4lb lighter.
(last week I saw people i haven't seen for ages. Those that saw me last november said that i had lost more weight (which is funny beacuse i've "only" lost one stone since then out of a total of almost 4) and shouldn't lose anymore....(bless them and their sabotage and their continuing belief in the low-fat way). As i am now the same size i was a year after i left uni and had already settled into a sedentary working lifestyle and bigger trousers I KNOW that i am a stone heavier/trouser size bigger than where i would be if i was more active so i know i am no where near being TOO skinny.
Those that saw me a year ago said that i was looking well (which means blimey you were fat before) and those that i haven't seen since school/uni said i hadn't changed at all! (i thought and often said you wouldn't have said that a year ago!). One girl said wasn't i smaller than i was when i was at school. (How offended would my 18 year old self would have been, lol)
anyway the point of my now rambling drivel is to share that rather than bemoaning the fact that my weight seems to have settled out a few pounds heavier than my ego would like it to be, the comments i received have made me re-remember and re-appreciate the total amount of weight i have lost since i started and to feel happy with myself the way i am.
why are we (am i) so disasitisfied with whatever the present me is? why do i rejoice in changing the sizes on my ebay search (you know when it drops down from a 14/16 to a definite 14) but then just as quickly set up disatisfaction for my current size by looking through the even smaller stuff (so i stop being thrilled by a 14 and wishing i was a 12). Why did i feel the need to say to people last week "oh i'm not actually trying to lose any more weight now", when that was untrue and i know that although i now feel my weight is ok i would love to lose another few pounds/drop another trouser size. Ridiculous isn't it. (And how the b****y h**l did my cheery pep talk turn into a counselling session?!)
So again I say
YAY US! WE'RE DOING GREAT! WE LOOK FAB! ENJOY IT!

I tend to weigh myself every Friday and struggle not to weigh myself more
Currently diet seems to consist of no breakfast, Pepperami for lunch and then a normal l/c tea with perhaps another Pepperami for snacking on, plus lots of fluids (generally have at least 2l, sometimes 3-4l of tap water a day, plus Diet Red Bull, plus Diet Coke)
Take a multi-vitamin everyday, plus "Water Balance" tablets to make sure I don't retain any of the water I drink that isn't needed
Also have a website for friends and family that tracks weight-loss etc. so I can get a good historical view of the loss (both weight and BMI) and make pretty graphs (geeks love graphs)
This week - lost 1.5kg (3.3lbs) - since beginning of January lost 29lbs, 24lbs of which has been on Atkins in the past 41 days
Also have noticed - if I lose weight, I allow myself a treat (something non l/c) and have no problems going straight back onto Induction the next day and carry on losing
All in all, the most motivated to lose weight (and hopefully keep it off) than I have been ever0 -

Reasons to be [STRIKE]cheerful [/STRIKE]miserable, part 1.
1) Hunger
2) Boredom (with food and life in general)
3) Financial worries
4) Car worries
5) OH 'issues'
6) Kid 'issues'
7) Loads and loads and loads of house 'issues'
8) Weight loss taking too long, patience non-existant.
9) Complete lack of interest in cooking
10) Work in progress...will need to think of another one. :rotfl:
Is that enough to be going on with ?
My head is on holiday at the moment, it has stress overload and is refusing to play. It comes back on Sunday ready to start work again on Monday though.:D
I had MacDonalds yesterday and I won an 'instant win' McFlurry...so I had that too.:D It was bloody good. HOWEVER..........within half an hour of eating it, I was nearly asleep. I spent the rest of the day yawning my head off. I KNOW I feel fitter and better when I cut out the carbs so I know I do need to get back to it.
Well done to all of you who are being [STRIKE]goody two shoes[/STRIKE] good.:rotfl:

ok lots of reasons to be a bit  but you have lost over 2 stones!:j
Glad you enjoyed your McFlurry - there's absolutely no point eating something off plan and not enjoying it (or enjoying it but then feeling guilty about it and destroying the enjoyment in the process).
I go off piste when i really fancy something but then hop back on and don't worry about it. It's a marathon not a sprint as they say and i know that i would quit and destroy all of the good work that i've done (again) if i don't have a bit of what i fancy sometimes. And the longer the weight takes to come off the more likely it is to stay off.
And if i'm hungry i eat! Sometimes i want loads and other times it's hardly anything. If you are hungry though you can't be getting enough calories so your body will think it's in famine and stops you burning fat. As odd as it sounds if you eat more you might start losing again.
I'm trying to try at least one new thing a week to keep me interested and get out of the veg-rut. this cookbook is quite good for simple ideas that don't rely on ground pork rinds

Well I am not going to join the ranks of being miserable since I only joined yesterday...even though I think I might puke!
Is it normal (to those who have done Atkins or know anything about it) to feel sick?
Since I woke up yesterday morning and began Atkins, I have eaten four meals all Atkins induction friendly. So thats breakfast, lunch, dinner and then breakfast this morning. Ive even had to make a quick dash for the loo. Feel a bit 'car sick' Is that normal?
But im not miserable0 -
not normal for me but everyone seems to be different. My name is Paula and I am a low carber

The stupid thing is I was grazing on biccies, crisps and sandwiches all day before I began the diet, hence I now need to loose weight! Never felt sick on a half pack of choccie digestives!.0

It was for me Daisy. I felt 'yukky' and a bit sicky for a few days. I put it down to my body taking bad to the complete change from carb fest to fat fest iyswim. It passed though.
By the way paula....I'm hungry because I'm greedy, not because I'm actually hungry. My intake should be perfectly adequate but there are times I still have the desire to binge eat.Always worse around TOTM. I have no idea if that will ever change...even if I got down to a size 10.
