I've put 6lbs on over Xmas; too much sugar and a bit of bread snuck in too :(

Well I'm cheating already today. I have a glass of wine in my hand while I'm making the buffet for tonight:beer:
    Devilled eggs done
    LC meat loaf done
Mini sausages in a soy & sesame glaze ready for the oven (not very low carb as I couldn't find any decent ones, sold out everywhere :()
Chicken portions in paprika ready for the oven
    Then VHC pizzas etc:cool:

The buffet consists of plenty of low carb options as well as hc options. I'll just eat whatever what want.

I hope everyone has a lovely new year x :j

I'll be lc again on the 2nd until my anniversary in February :D

    Hiya lovely people!

I'm going to be lcing again in the new year. i've been missing while I sorted out some things and discovered properly that I'm wheat intollerant.

So by going lowcarb again I'll not only avoid all that wheat nonsense but be doing myself a proper favour :)

Slight problem is that my lovely family are so kind and thoughtful that they've all bought wheat free flour - how do I now tell them that it should be shelved and likely eaten by weevils?

Anyway, got 1st week back at work sorted. Lots of homemade curry over cauli in the freezer for lunches and cheese and ham for breakfasts.

Also stocked up on gluten free sausages and eggs. Will have broccoli and green beans tomorrow with a nice ribeye steak.

Gearing up but tonight I will have to finish off that Baileys (so it doesn't get in the way) and I will drink a toast to

ALL THE HAPPY LOW CARBERS! MAY YOUR NEW YEAR BRING FORTITUDE, HAPPINESS AND A MUCH HEALTHIER WAY OF EATING! XXXX

    Big love MX

Hello all! Well decided to have my midnight fireworks early-at 8pm as myself & GF were...ahem a little tipsy....!

Weight still coming off-was down to 13st 6 (10 pounds lost in 3 weeks!)...went up a kilo for no reason a day later...but in week 2 of this I gained2-3lbs that came off. Main thing is I can fit in smaller trousers & feel/look MUCH better. Will maybe weigh myself twice a week max-daily is a bit obsessive I suppose!

Tescos CAN'T get me the Irwins bread-need to do some homework as to where in West Yorkshire it's sold! Burgens linseed/soy is not a bad choice-large slice 10.9carbs-so will keep some in the freezer!

Here's an interesting thing...GF bought me an alcosense lite breathaliser (for the morning after!)...I thought my liver was packing up as a couple of days ago it showed me being over the limit for TWO DAYS solid-when I'd not had a drink for 1 day???! Googled it & apparently acetone (Ketone breath) in a moderate to high concentration is picked up by breathalisers that use iron oxide/electrical charge as alcohol!!! Luckily UK cops use fuel cell ones-that DON'T pick up ketone-breath-but in some states in the USA & parts of europe the police use these types-& many low-carbers/diabetics HAVE been wrongly accused of drink driving. A blood test would sort it out but its not a legal right.

Now....as I cheated a bit last pm-3/4 min sausage rolls-4.5 carbs each & a bit of nougat...my ketostik this am was slightly pink-so less ketosis-& the breathaliser got me at the lowest reading-0.7% (just fit to drive but not worth the risk!)..so less ketosis/less ketobreath...anyway-very boring!

Will start the new year with making low carb bread-ordered some vital wheat gluten-& also some low carb soups to freeze. Doing a big chilli today (undecided as to if I add black beans)-will freeze that. Will also start casseroling & freezing.

    Have a good day all!

I'm back too! :j I have been following a mostly LC way of eating for many many months now although it was regularly 'reinforced' by white wine. And for the past two weeks I have been hammering my body and my gut with all stuff Christmas shaped and beyond. Actually I really miss the wholly LC lifestyle and only eat other stuff as an emotional response to life - which is particularly difficult around Christmas and New Year.

However - today I am eating 10% yoghurt with blueberries and a sprinkling of cinnamon for breakfast. I need my energy back and I need to grasp back control of my eating and therefore my life! My work takes me away so often (an average of two days a week every week, sometimes more) that I find it difficult to properly organise lunches. Breakfast in hotels is easy - big piles of bacon and egg - and so are dinners really. It's lunches... I often end up buying a packet of sliced cheese and then eating the whole lot as it doesn't really keep in hotel rooms (no mini bars anymore!).

Hey ho - if organising myself better is all it takes then I can't complain.

So, am diving back into the pool of life. No more 'it's Christmas' or 'I'm miserable' ... and a pile more of 'I am in control'.

    Happy LCing everyone.
